QUESTION 4 : WHO WOULD BE THE
AUDIENCE FOR YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
AGE AND GENDER
• The target audience for our opening sequence will be 15-20 due to the
inclusion of street/knife crime, as films such as Adulthood, Turning Point
(Short UK Knife Crime Film) are rated at 15. Having this age bracket is
useful as the audience will be of similar age to the characters, therefore
allowing them to be able to relate to them and make the film more engaging.
Due to the genre being detective/thriller it does not limit the audience to
being one gender however our film does contain scenes that relate to
masculine themes.
BACKGROUND
• Our film is British (setting and actors) and will be only distributed through out
the UK, which will be easily relatable for a British audience. This is due to the
setting being familiar for British residents as well as the language.
TASTES IN MEDIA
• Our film will be enjoyable by anyone who enjoys detective and/or thriller films
as that is the films genre. The film could also be popular with people who
enjoy low budget or student films, the audience could be media students
looking to get ideas how to improve their own films.
