The audience for my magazine are more likely to seek it out, rather than pick up the nearest one in a newsagent. Through an independent distributor, I can target a small niche audience.
Distribution was a huge area that we focused upon during media. I learned about major and independent distribution strategies, and my magazine is more likely to be distributed by an specialist independent distributor such as Vice.
They distribute there magazines in smaller areas but they do appear in 1,000 retail distributors across the UK which suggests PSEUDO individuality, so this could cause a problem. You can access their magazines in shops such as “urban outfitters” which isn’t a very well known shop, which is where I would like my magazine to be.
Here is a strategy used by Frontline, which is a major distributor, here it contains retail such as WHS, Asda and Tescos, which are far too mainstream for my magazine.
