1. The document describes the design choices made for the magazine front cover, contents page, and double page spread based on the Top of the Pops magazine format. 2. Key elements copied from Top of the Pops include the title placement, use of color, and conventional layouts. 3. Additional elements were added such as shapes around text, larger pictures, and bolder page numbers to make the magazine more fun and eye-catching compared to other magazines.

3. The magazine front cover I based mine around was Top of the pops because it is a well known pop magazine
and it is very colourful.
1. I have placed my title in the same place as the Top of the pops magazine has and I have also used the
same colour.
2. I have included shapes around some texts to emphasize what they are saying.
3. The images have been placed on the right side so more writing can fit on the page. This is a conventional way
of placing the image on the right and have the most writing on the left.
4. The barcode on my front cover was placed in the top right hand corner because that was the only place I had
enough space to put it, unlike the Top of the pops magazine where it has been placed at the bottom.

5. The contents page I based my magazine around was Top of the pops because it has a conventional layout of a
music magazine and it is full of colour which was what I wanted to incorporate into my magazine.
1. I placed my title in the same place because other magazines I looked at had theirs at the top too. I firstly
placed my title in a straight line but I thought it may look better at a slant seeing as this magazine is meant to
be fun and different.
2. My cover lines were placed in boxes instead of just leaving them in rows because it separates each section
and allows the reader to know what they should expect to see in there.
3. I have placed pictures on my contents page to show what the reader should expect to see inside the
magazine.
4. My page numbers have been shown clearly by putting them in a colour that can be easily seen.

7. I chose not to base my Double page spread on a music magazine because I felt that the ones I was looking at
felt too childish and had too much going on.
1. On both magazines the focus on the right side is the title for her name because it is bolder and bigger than
anything else on the page.
2. I have included some text about the artist and her previous experience before starting the interview.
3. I added a quote from the artists new song unlike the other magazine where they have added a quote from
within the interview.
4. They are both set out as a question and answer style interview. I have added more questions into my
interview where as the other magazine has only asked 3 questions.
5. On both magazines the picture takes up a whole page.
6. I have added a border around my double page spread but not as thick as the other one.
I have made my double page spread more colourful instead of black and white.
