develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media
products?
Our film was an action film; therefore, we had to use the conventions for
an action film. The mostcommon conventions for an action film are:
 Foot chases
 Car chases
 Guns
 Bombs
 Weapons in general
 Money
 Good guy/bad guy
 Fastpaced scenes
We used mostof the conventions, but we could not use all of them in
the opening sequence, as we didn’t have enough time to. The ones we
didn’t usewere, money and a car chase.
Close to the end of the opening sequence we did use a chasescene,
which was really good, because it shown to the audience that it was an
action film, because when you see a chasescene, with a gun, you
automatically know it’s an action film. Itwas also good because, we
chosemusic that went very well with it; it fit well with how fast the
scene was going. Also wewere able to use a lot of shots, which were
more interesting shots. Such as when we had the camera on the floor
and had the two characters run over it, justto engage the audience that
extra bit more.
In the opening sequence, wealso used a good guy and a bad guy, but
they would carry on being the good and bad guy, if we wereto carry on
the film. This also explains to the audience that our film is an action,
because that is one of the main conventions of an action film.
We also changed the colour and brightness of the background, so it
would look more like an action film. I made the screen a little darker, but
more so around the edge of the shot. I think this is good becauseit looks
a lot more professionalthatleaving it as the same. The last thing we had

titles they have on famous action films.
