Read| The latest issue of The Challenger is here! We are thrilled to announce that our school paper has qualified for the NATIONAL SCHOOLS PRESS CONFERENCE (NSPC) 2024. Thank you for your unwavering support and trust. Dive into the stories that made us stand out!
2. • Over our 2 months of researching and planning, it is time to review the
ideas we have developed since the start.
• So our task was to complete a 2-4 minute trailer, with our choice of genre.
Also to produce a magazine and a poster for the film. We decided to go
with a horror trailer.
3. • We then had to decide as a group, what our production name was going to be.
We came up with 'RedSky Studios'.
• After that, we started planning for our horror trailer. We first looked at locations to
film. I phoned around a few places where we could film. One place was Castle
Bromwich Hall Hotel, but they were unable to give us permission to film there.
• Next, we contacted a journalist from the Daily Mail who wrote an article on an
abandoned house in Moseley, but when we spoke to him, the house was already
being refurbished.
• Then we spoke to Packwood House, who, again were unable to give us
permission. It was a great struggle to find a place to film the main part of our
trailer at.
• We found a hotel in Rugby, which had all of the aesthetics that we were looking
for, it was called Brownsover Hall Hotel. They have given us permission to film on
Monday 30th November.
• We are also filming at my house and Castle Bromwich Library who we had
confirmation from to film.
4. • After all of the location planning, we started to look at our characters and
their costumes. One character, Greg Alexander is a very shy boy who lives
with foster parents. Then there is Michael Clarke, who is an outgoing
person with a big ego. He lives with his mom, after his Dad left when he
was young and his brother died in the army.
• Greg would be dressed in dark, boring clothes, whereas Michael would be
wearing named, nice clothes. This would show how different they are even
though they're best friends.
5. • We have had to create a shotlist, storyboard, risk assessment, screenplay.
6. Synopsis
"Best friends, Greg and Michael embark on their daily
fitness regime, only to be lead astray by the hidden past
of an abandoned house. As curiosity turns to terror, a
demonic spirit threatens to tear their childhood friendship
apart."
12. Conclusion
So now we have finally completed everything as part of our
coursework. The trailer is at its final stages of editing, and we are
currently thinking about re-shooting one of our scenes, which will
only take us a couple of hours. The magazine and posters are done.
All that is left to do now is our evaluation.
