Christine Quartz
My Mineral Glossary Crystal: a clear transparent mineral or glass resembling ice Igneous Rock: Geology produced under conditions involving intense heat, as rock, a volcanic organ, or forks crystallized from molten magma Metamorphic: Rock that was once one form of a rock but has changed to another under the influence of heat, pressure, or some other agent. Mineral: any of class of substance occurring in nature usually comprising of inorganic substances as quartz or feldspar Sedimentary rock: Rock that has formed from the deposition and solidification of sediments.
What is Quartz? Quartz is magma. Quartz the most abundant silica mineral and occurs in most igneous and practically all metamorphic and sedimentary rocks.
What does Quartz look like? My mineral is yellow, rose, smoky, or white. Quartz may be transparent, translucent, or opaque. It may also be colorless or colored.
Where is Quartz found? Quartz is found in rocks and the earth crust. Closeite is a denser polymophic of Quartz found in medamorpic rocks.
What are Quartz uses? Its uses are for making glass. It is used in the manufacture of glass ceramics, refectories, and cements.
