In today’s market, software quality equals business reputation.
Getting the right application development strategy in place ultimately determines a company’s long term success. And being able to continuously test dramatically reduces delivery challenges.

MRI Image Segmentation Using Gradient Based Watershed Transform In Level Set ...IJERA Editor
Brain image classification is one of the utmost imperative parts of clinical investigative tools. Brain images
typically comprise noise, inhomogeneity and sometimes deviation. Therefore, precise segmentation of brain
images is a very challenging task. Nevertheless, the process of perfect segmentation of these images is very
important and crucial for a spot-on diagnosis by clinical tools. Also, intensity inhomogeneity often arises in realworld
images, which presents a substantial challenge in image segmentation. The most extensively used image
segmentation algorithms are region-based and usually rely on the homogeneousness of the image intensities in
the sections of interest, which often fail to afford precise segmentation results due to the intensity
inhomogeneity. This Research presents a more accurate segmentation using Gradient Based watershed
transform in level set method for a medical diagnosis system. Experimental results proved that our method
validating a much better rate of segmentation accuracy as compare to the traditional approaches, results are also
validated in terms of certain Measure properties of image regions like eccentricity, perimeter etc.

Training workers on a construction & installation site can be a challenge.
With multiple activities, operations & equipment functions going on all at the same time. Getting a training medium that ensures comprehensive training sessions with uniform & complete message becomes an absolute necessity. This is where an animated video as a training medium works as a life-saver.
How? This can be understood from what this natural gas manufacturer did for training their workers. Let’s read their case study to know how.

PBU Quality Update
1. “Customer Supply Tower” supplier quality audit and improvements
Vestas Towers VQM China was set up in 2010. One of the main tasks is to define
“Customer supplied towers” management process. Regular supplier audits can
help our customer to ensure tower quality meet Vestas requirements, and help the
supplier to improve the quality management system.
ChengXi Shipyard is one of the “Customer Supplied Tower” suppliers. At the
beginning of the “Da LiuHang” project, Vestas Towers VQM audit team performed
an audit to ChengXi Shipyard in the area of quality management, workshop
production, HSE, etc. The audit team observed some deviations in black tower
production, surface treatment and HSE which need to be corrected and improved.
After the audit, ChengXi Shipyard made a corrective action plan for all the deviations and a closely follow up with
record to make sure all those actions to be done and all the deviations to be closed.
In January 2011, before the project completed, Vestas Towers VQM sent audit team to ChengXi Shipyard again to
make a follow-up audit. The factory got impressive improvements on product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Customer is also satisfied with the product quality. The intended result of the customer supplier audit is therefore
achieved.
2. Quality Awareness Training has been launched in PBU Blade Tianjin
The Quality Awareness Training was kicked off in Blade Factory Tianjin at the beginning of the New Year. The
whole training project will be completed by the end of April 2011, aiming to enhance Quality Awareness generally.
On January 27, colleagues from different departments in Blade Factory Tianjin took the Quality Awareness Training
given by Production Quality (PQ) Manager Guoqing Zhu (Michael) from PQ Department. This was the first phase of
this training project. Afterwards, these 10 colleagues will be the trainers and deliver the Quality Awareness training
to all other employees in Blade Factory Tianjin from February to April.
The Blade Factory Tianjin launched the Quality Awareness Training project in order
to promote and enhance Quality Awareness systematically and comprehensively
among all employees. The Quality Awareness Training Project is initiated by Blades
in Denmark and promoting in Blade Factories worldwide. In the long term, the
Quality Awareness is good for the improvement and sustainability of quality.
Through this training, all participants learned the relevant knowledge about quality,
had discussions and proposed many suggestions on how to communicate the
Quality Principles and enhance the Quality Awareness. They all believed that this
training is necessary for the improvement of quality, a crucial element of company’s

Quality Story
Vanilla ice cream = Car breakdown?
Do you believe the vanilla ice cream could result in car breakdown?
The General Motors received a complaint from a client, who claimed that he
bought ice cream for his family every night after dinner in his Pontiac (made by
GM). He said when he bought vanilla ice cream, his car wouldn’t start back from
the store; but everything turned fine when he got other flavors.
An engineer was sent to check it out although the company felt skeptical about the
letter. He found really the car couldn’t start after bought the vanilla ice cream.
Do you know why? Think about it! We will get back next month!
Thanks a lot for the great effort of writers!
