1. Looking back at the preliminary task what do you feel you have learnt in the progression
from it to a full product
You can see a drastic improvement from using a few tools at the beginning to
utilising every single Photoshop tool in order to create my finished product. The
two magazines are completely different. I have learnt to experiment a lot more
and to not be afraid to think outside the box. The school magazine is very bland
and safe whereas my ‘GRIND’ cover is very busy, vibrant and different.
2. The layout of the two magazines are different. In both magazines, I used a
variation of pictures and placed the article titles on the right hand side of
the page. I learnt to structure my pictures in a more organised and precise
manner, this is why I made sure that there was a line to separate each
picture on my ‘GRIND’ magazine
3. •The positioning of the masthead changed, instead the artist is in front of the masthead
• long shot instead of mid shot
•Quote from artist appears below the artist instead of to the side
•The bar code is on the left rather then on the right
•The headlines are arranged all around the artist
•The colour scheme remains the same
•The formal costume is featured in both
4. •The word ‘Contents’ is segregated in both but aligned differently
•The layout of the pictures and texts are completely different
•‘GRIND’ includes a comment from the editor, whilst the draft does not
5. •The layout is more or less the
same except the images are on
the left
•A quote from the artist is
included in both
•‘GRIND’ doesn't feature a small
image at the entre
•The costuming of the model is
different
