Salford City College Eccles Sixth Form Centre BTec Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production Games Design Unit 66 – 3D Modelling HA5 – Sidekick Task 6 – Production Name Adam Bailey Date: 4-3-2014 Start the work on the mood board for task 3 and then start the work on the ideas generation with a ideas map and a ideas paragraph for task 4. I used the mood board to start generating my ideas together so I could get a basic idea for my character, then with the ideas map I used that to decide on what stuff I could have on my character so that I could make my character more unique. Date: 10-3-2014 I start to type up my project charter for task 1, I finished the project charter within the first hour of the lesson. Also I start the production log in this lesson. I have made a start on the designs of my character I will need to continue development on the character if I want it to be satisfactory for me. Date:24-3-2014 Start making my first model on Modeler, during making the first model I accidentally tripled the polygons which made modelling particularly harder so I decided to start again leaning from my mistakes. On my model I will do the surfacing later because I want to see how the model will look so I could do some refinements on it or I might not even use it. At first I started off with a box from which from there I used multi-shift to make the arms and legs and then I used scale, move and drag to position the arms and legs to where I wanted them.

Date:1-4-2014 After having problems while mirroring the model with the half I have created, I had to ask for help from my tutor who said I somehow double sided it which is a thing which I had to overcome as a problem I had to cut a polygon off my model and then go inside of the model I made and delete the inside polygons this is why the model had problems to mirror after I got rid of all the inside polygons, the model has been working a lot better and now I’m trying to model the bullet and bandolier for the character so I can add detail to the model. Date:28/04/2014 I finished off my model and then put it into Layout and then started to create motion keys to make it look like a photo-shoot. I used the camera mode to go round the character to show what it will look like when looking around the character. I changed the layers using surface editor and used some presents for surfaces. Because I put the body parts into surfaces I could change the surfaces easily because they was already made as a surface so I used surface editor to change the surfaces.
