2. FRONT COVER- CONVENTIONS
In my induction task I included
things such as a masthead,
background and other
coverstorys. Whereas my final
copy of my magazine uses a lot
more features for example a
bold and strong masthead, one
big coverline and a barcode. I
have also used extra things that
make it more conventional to
the type of genre that I have chosen to do. This has made my final copy completely
different to my induction task because it focuses more on one genre and has used
things such as contrasting colours that appeal to people and types of colours that stick
and can be recognised as one genre.
3. FRONT COVER- PHOTOGRAPHY AND MIZEN-SCENE
My use of imagery has
improved massively, because in
my induction task my photo is
very unconventional and
doesn’t use a good shot type in
relation to the type of genre.
This has been improved
drastically in my new
photo, because I have thought
about the type of shot that
should be
used and has become more conventional to the type of genre. The miz-en-scene has not
be thought about much in my induction task, and type of background was used and it is
not conventional to the genre. The type of clothes that are used also are unconventional.
Whereas now the background has been thought about more and the clothes have been
thought about more and more conventional.
4. FRONT COVER- IMAGE EDITING
My image editing
improved because in my
first induction task front
cover photo I did not use
photo shop. Whereas in
my final copy I used
photo shop in order to
change the contrast and
brightness of the photo to
make it more conventional
5. FRONT COVER- LAYOUT
In my preliminary task I have
not used a very appealing the
layout is quite jumbled and is
not very conventional.
Whereas in my final task I have
included a route of the eye
layout, with the masthead
being in the top left and the
band index being in the
terminal area. It is also more
conventional because it will be
more appealing to my target
audience that the genre targets.
6. FRONT COVER- FONTS
The fonts I used in my
Induction task are very plain,
repetitive and boring. Whereas
in my final task they are very
varied and different. Also in
my induction task I used fonts
that are not very conventional
to my target audience.
Whereas, the fonts I choose for
my final copy had some
thought go into them and they
are more appealing to the
target audience.
7. FRONT COVER- COLOURS
The colours that were used in
the induction task were very
basic and didn’t flow greatly.
As well as this the colours
that I used were not very
conventional so therefore
does not appeal to the target
audience that the genre
targets. Whereas, in my final
copy I used colours that are
conventional to my genre so
that people would want to
buy the magazine. The
colours that I used were also
very contrasting so it is easy
to read.
8. FRONT COVER- MODE OF ADDRESS
The mode of address in my
induction task was very basic and
did not stand out greatly,
therefore not making the
magazine stand out greatly.
Whereas now the magazine has a
mode of address that is appealing
and stands out so people would
be drawn to looking at it. I have
also created the tone of
aggressiveness that connoted the
tone of an Indie/Rock genre
which is conventional.
