Introductory Message
For the facilitator:
As a facilitator, you are expected to orient the learners on how to
use this module. You also need to keep track of the learners' progress
while allowing them to manage their own learning at home.
Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners as
they do the tasks included in the module.
For the learner:
As a learner, you must learn to become responsible of your own
learning. Take time to read, understand, and perform the different
activities in the module.
As you go through the different activities of this module be
reminded of the following:
1. Use the module with care. Do not put unnecessary mark/s on any
part of the module. Use a separate sheet of paper in answering the
exercises.
2. Don’t forget to answer Let Us Try before moving on to the other
activities.
3. Read the instructions carefully before doing each task.
4. Observe honesty and integrity in doing the tasks and checking
your answers.
5. Finish the task at hand before proceeding to the next.
6. Return this module to your teacher/facilitator once you are done.
If you encounter any difficulty in answering the tasks in this
module, do not hesitate to consult your teacher or facilitator. Always
bear in mind that you are not alone. We hope that through this material,
you will experience meaningful learning and gain deep understanding
of the relevant competencies. You can do it!

Let Us Learn
This module was designed and written with you in mind. This enriching
topic develops your ability to differentiate connections, relationships and networks.
It is the intention to help the learners broaden their perspective in valuing
relationships in any form, whether it is a family, friends or with workmates it has to
be nurtured. It can also develop an affinity for one another. The scope of this module
allows the learners to fathom good networking among people. Students will
personally enhance good communication among their family, community and in their
organization, they deal with. The lesson is prepared for the students’ progress. All
the activities and exercises here is geared towards mastery and understanding of the
learners.
The module is divided into two lessons, namely:
• Lesson 1 – Differentiate among connections, relationships, and networks.
• Lesson 2 – Illustrate how the brain or neural network works.
After going through this module, you are expected to have:
1. Defined and understood connections, relationships, and networks.
2. Identified connections, relationships, and networks.
3. Differentiated connections from relationships and networks.
4. Illustrated and understood connections, relationships, and networks.
5. Defined and understood neural networks.
6. Illustrated how neural network works.
7. Written realization of the lesson.

Dear Learner,
How are you? Welcome to another module. This module
emphasizes that no man can live alone. Being with someone
allows us to become better individuals. Every human being
contributes to the well-being of someone. You have the
chance to understand deeper the essence of connections,
relationships, and networks into our lives. With the
problems arising in the recent times, it is a must to get
involved in an activity that surely develops your good
decision-making and widen your perspective of the most
important aspects in life, which is the relationship. Talking
to someone close to you helps release mental as well as
physical stress. Connections, relationships, and networks is
about knowing more people professionally and personally
since people by nature should interact and find their links
as they face life. You will also learn neural network, an
application that aids you in solving complex problem. This
shall lead you to acquire specific, clear, and effective
learning. Goodluck, Dear Learners.
What is Connection?
Connection refers to something that links or associates two or more things with
each other. It is the point of contact that connects and forms a relationship between
persons and things. It can also be explained as the manner and a feeling of
understanding between two or more people that eases communication. A connection
is what binds two or more people, concepts, or things to form a relationship.
Here are some examples that can be considered a connection:
l A person that you know from another school or institution.
l The feeling you feel towards music that makes you more engaged in it.
l The link or bond between mother and child.
l Personal connection that increases your engagement and interest to things or
people
Building connections with others is important in facilitating understanding between
people which produces better mood, relationships, work outcomes, and interest over
things and people.

What is a relationship?
Relationship refers to the way things, concepts, and people are connected or related.
It can also refer to the close connection between people that is established over an
extended period. A relationship is a by-product of connection.
Here are some examples that can be considered a relationship:
l Relationship between lung cancer ad smoking
l Boyfriend and girlfriend relationship
l Family members (mother and child; husband and wife, etc.)
l Boss- employee relationship
Building good relationships with others helps make work a better place to be. When
people have strong relationships in the workplace, team players are more likely to
perform better and build camaraderie that helps the team to better perform and
function as a team.

What is network?
Network is the process of interacting with others to exchange information or idea
among people with a common profession or interest. It is used by people to expand
their circle of acquaintances in an informal setting. Through networking, people are
able to find out information about many things such as news, trends, jobs, concepts,
ideas, information technology and more in the world.
9. 9
An example of networking is working with different divisions of the same company to
exchange and acquire information to solve business problems.
Example of a network
What is neural network?
It is a computing system that works like the neurons in the human brain. This is a
modeled human brain modification created to recognize patterns. It is software called
“neurons” connected together that is able to send communication to each other. The
network’s specific function is asked to solve a problem which strengthens the
connections to succeed and diminishes those that lead to failure. This neural
network can run and copy like the human brain does. It can also adapt to innovate
the input that brings out the best possible outcome. Neural network is a software
simulation, (imitation of the operation of a real-world process or system) with plenty
of interconnected brain cells inside the computer. The system can learn things,
recognize patterns, and make decisions like the human way. Simply put, this neural
network is an artificial intelligence.
Neural network can improve decision processes such as:
• Credit card and Medicare detection
• Medical and disease diagnosis
• Robotic control system
• Optimization of logistics for transportation networks
• Targeted marketing
• Predictions for financial status of stock prices, currency and bond ratings.
• Language processing and voice recognition
• Quality control
• Evaluation of ecosystem
• Forecasting of energy and electricity
• Raw photos and videos vision interpretation thru computer
