Media Product and Why?
Beatz FM is a radio station that provides you with live music,
entertainment and interviews with the HOTTEST celebrities!
This radio station specifically targets an audience who carry the 'BEATZ'
style, love music and are interested in the tragic events that happen in
our society that everyone needs to be aware of.
We target an audience between the age range of early teens to late
twenties (13-25).
As a radio station, we think the institution
that is most compatible with Beatz FM is the
well known radio station like Capital FM.
We know that Capital FM does not only
broadcast locally but reaches national
audience. However, if there was a local radio
station with Capital's style, audience, content
and values, then it would be our ideal.
Capital FM is a London-based station that launched on
16 October, 1973 and is owned by Global Radio. Since
3rd January 2011, it has formed part of the nine-
station Capital radio network.
It serves an audience of 7.1 million listeners and
targets a core audience of 15-34 year olds.
Throughout the 1990s, Capital FM became one of the
UK's major radio groups by acquiring a number of
additional local radio stations.
Capital FM is lively, vibrant and balances
entertainment with information. It's content is
relevant to teens and young adults and it distributes
products through digital platforms - the kind of media
our audience also engage with.
Capital FM is right for us as they also target the young. They include
similar type of radio news as Beatz FM, bringing out the liveliness of
people and also the atmosphere. There is on-going music, interviews
with celebrities and latest fashion trends shared with the crowd,
these topics are also used within both radio stations, these particular
topics will grab the targeted audiences attention as they are keen to
follow these trends.
Both Beatz FM and Capital FM have balanced entertainment with
information which will definitely make the audience pay a visit and
listen to the latest news out.
