The ER diagram for the project is the foundation for the building of the database of the project. The properties, datatypes, and attributes are defined by the ER diagram.
1. How effective is the combination of your main product
and ancillary texts?
Digipak was advertised on my magazine advert
and the digipak advertised the album.
They develop each other by promoting each
other and if one person listened to the song and
enjoyed it then they would be tempted to buy the
album.
The ancillary texts add advertisement to my main
task and include things such as reviews and
images
2. Through the promotional packages we used synergy in order to
connect the three products so they would all benefit from each
other.
While the audience can watch the video, they get to understand
the narrative and what the main character is like . If the audience
views the digipak it is likely that they have either watched the
music video already or are planning on watching it. If they
haven't watched the video already then the aim of the digipak is
to attract them to watch it and purchase the album. Inside the
digipak there are images from the music video which are meant
to try and pull the audience in
3. The magazine advert that we created advertises the album that
the record we used is on, so if the audience like the song or
music video it is likely that they will go out and purchase the
album.
On both the digipak and magazine advert we tried to make the
text as easy to read and stand out as we could by adding white
writing onto a black background. This was done to make clear
what the bands name was and what the song that we used was
called so if they wanted to go out and buy it there wouldn’t be
any confusion.
4. On the magazine advert we used we used a the main
character from the music video in his school suit
instead of when he goes out on the date because it
looks more eye-catching and can relate a lot to the
target audience we were aiming it at.
I feel that the final products that we created are
all linked together well and promote each other in
the ways that I wanted. The only way that I
would have liked to improve the connections
between all three is by making a lyric booklet
which would connect the song that we used and
the others to the album perfectly.
5. From the picture on the magazine advert it is
easy to tell that the video related to the name
of the song as the holding hands shows a
couple and romance. The colour of the font
we used was white on a black background so
it was able to stand out, just like this
presentation.
On the back cover of the digipak there is also
a logo of the record company which is also on
the magazine advert, which makes it more
recognisable.
6. Overall, I am happy about the final products. At first I believed it
was going to be a struggle to try and make a video that fit into a
five minute song and for it not to get boring but by using different
conventions and real media texts it was more simple.
When we did the filming we did around 20 minutes worth, but
using different editing and cutting techniques we were able to size
it down to 5 minutes. Slow motion and different colour effects
were the two main effects that we used.
7. The digipak was successful in terms that it did
exactly what we wanted it to do. It looks good
and creative with the writing on the wall and a
picture of him in his suit which shows that he
is in school.
The only improvement that I would make to the
magazine advert is the picture. I believe that
the ratings and writing makes it seems realistic.
