4. Purposes:
There are several purposes of memos:
 No other kind of communication reaches so many people
at so many levels as does a memo in an organization.
 A memo is a good way to reach many people at once.
 Of course e-mail is now a days used in most
organizations to convey information in whatever written
form you may choose-memo,circular or notice.
 A memo is important because its wide range used.
 A memos is represent a component of your interpersonal
communication skills within your work environment.

5. Purposes:
 It is also essential in the field of business as it helps build
good relationships.
 Other purposes that the briefing note can serve include:
conveying information; informing decisions, making a
request, providing a response to a question, making a
suggestion, presenting an informal report, proposing a
solution to a problem, or documenting a reference for
future use.
 It is use for detect and solve problem.

6. Documentary Memo:
 It is type of memo.
 It is used for the conveying information.
 It is used to remind,to announce,to give instructions,to
explain policy or procedure,to your superior to confirm an
agreement.
 It explaining the new method of work in any field like
medical etc.

 short report can also be submitted in the form of
documentary memos such report are called memo report.

7. Congratulatory Memos:
 It is used to give credit to employees of organization for
outstanding work they have accomplished.
 It is appropriate for Vice-Chancellor of a university to
send a memo to the faculty members congratulating of
outstanding contribution to field of research.
Similarly the employees also send their compliments in
the form of a memo to their officers,for the award or
achievements which the latter have earned.

8. Disciplinary Memos:
 When employees violate the rules or breach the code of
conduct in an organization they will be served either with
a severe warning or any other punishment as decide by
the management.
 The memo conveying this action known as Disciplinary
memo.
 For instance, a memo may be issued to an officer who
has accepted bribe from one of the customers
