Northern California
California is the most populated state in the United States as of 2014 with 38.8 million residents.
California is one of the most popular states for vacationing and adventures. With more of a variety of
places to live, more job opportunities, and more adventures for families and friends, many people
choose California to live. Although America has many great places to live, California is the best state
to live in. It is just about the only state that is different from one end to the other. Starting at cold
northern California that has snow and ski resorts, traveling through Central California where it is
warm, and down to southern California where weather is hot and can find the famous beaches and
amusement parks. Northern California is the coolest area. During winter, snow is very much
welcomed. Northern California has some of the most beautiful and popular ski resorts. Northern

Essay on Expand Ukraine’s Political Ambitions
The month of November in Ukraine was interesting, to say the least. Politically, the Ukrainian
President, Viktor Yanukovych attempts to reform amending bills, while also socially ignoring the
decline in press freedom. However, a major noteworthy article appeared on the stands: Ukraine goes
offshore. This article is probably one of the most important events that occurred in November, which
discusses revenue lost on offshore tax schemes. As an attempt to electronically expand Ukraine s
political ambitions, Viktor Yanukovych passed a recent bill early in November that will allow votes in
the Parliament to be conducted by an electronic card (Ukrainian). Although not technically
monumental, the bill will allow members of Parliament an easier ... Show more content on

He even goes as far as to say, the written press is as it was before (AFP). The information associated
with Google s article, President denies problem with Ukraine press freedom , discusses the television
networks across Ukraine as experiencing horrendous mishaps, such as the censoring of broadcasts and
the removal of episodes that go against the regulations transpired by the president. If Yanukovych does
not approve of the media associated with the press, he opposes the spreading of the ideas.
Unfortunately, Yanukovych seems to acknowledge the fact that he will only allow production of news,
journals, pictures, etc., if they portray the truth. The truth, in fact, is quite limited by the strict
regulations Yanukovych orders Ukraine s networking companies to follow. As this issue is heightened
by Yanukovych s disapproval and lack of understanding, I definitely am worried for the social state of
the nation. As someone living in a free nation, I understand the social liberties that are given to a
nation, and how it allows people to globalize their social understandings. Once Ukraine becomes
socially deteriorated by Yanukovych s policies, Ukraine will suffer with various downfalls in freedom.
I am a strong opponent to this ordeal for these reasons. I feel that Yanukoyvch continues to fear
opposition and removal from office, so he eliminates all possible enemies. By exterminating the social

The Five Stages Of Industrialization In The United States
It is extremely fascinating how cities evolved over time. Especially here in the United States since a
great hand full have been industrialized and as a result, some cities became very popular. The
industrial revolution gave cities the opportunities to expand in manufactures. Thus, factories began to
be developed and as a result, it provided civilians with job opportunities. As the years progressed,
cities expanded in two different methods. One method in how it expanded was by the Concentric Zone
Theory. According to Burgess, cities that in this zone expand outward in form of rings. Burgess states
that the closest zones to the origin are zone that is made up of labor workers and immigrants. In
contrast to zone located furthest from the origin. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Walt Rostow established The Stages of Economic Growth that cities go through to get to modernity.
Rostow states that all societies will eventually be industrialized in just five stages (Fong 2016). The
first stage of modernization begins with the traditional society. In addition to the cities in Mexico,
there are small villages that are near and far from the city. Some of these villages still practice the first
stages of modernity through agricultural. Subsequently, as villages began to grow, they expand their
development of goods through the pre conditions to the take off stages. In this stage, goods will be
manufacture out of raw material then traded for other goods. When a city is large enough it goes
through innovation. The city acquires entertainment, several transportation methods, hospitality
services etc. these types of characteristics attract tourist. (CITE DR. FONG?) Mexico city has this
characteristic; sources of entertainment, transportation methods and hospitality services. This is what
is known as the drive to maturity stage. This is the stage that that attracts tourist due to its modernity.
Lastly, a city reaches the final stage of high mass consumption. Mexico city has reached this stage
because there is any form of consumption located throughout the city. Whether it is automotive,
electronics etc, it gives civilians the opportunity to be high consumers. (CITY DR

The Great Gatsby Truly Great
Greatness lies in everyone despite who you are or what you do. You can be anything in the world and
still be great if you care enough about something that you are willing to do anything for it. In F. Scott
Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby, he illustrates this idea. Gatsby was truly great because he did
everything for the one he truly loved, which was Daisy despite how he made his money. Gatsby
conveys how truly great he is by his never ending desire to get back together with Daisy. Daisy was
the one that he truly loved and all he wanted was to be together again. In attempt to get Daisy back,
Gatsby chose to live close to her. He bought his, house so that Daisy would be across the bay
(Fitzgerald 78). Gatsby was still in love with Daisy so, he chose to buy a house based on where Daisy
lived. His choice to buy his house across the bay from Daisy exemplifies Gatsby s desire to be with
her again. In addition to choosing to live by Daisy, Gatsby ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

No one quite knew how Gatsby got his money until Tom told Daisy what Gatsby did for a living in the
hope of her leaving him. Tom claimed that Gatsby, sold grain alcohol over the counter (Fitzgerald

like the rest of the people in West Egg, making him seem like he is a criminal. Not only is Gatsby a
criminal, he isn t cared for by anyone other than Nick. After Gatsby was murdered, Nick waited hours
for people to show up for Gatsby s funeral, but, nobody came (Fitzgerald 174). None of Gatsby s so
called friends attended his funeral because they didn t want to get mixed in with Gatsby s business.
This confirms that Gatsby s way of making a living affected his personal life and his friends. Gatsby s
illegal way of making money and its affect on him and the people around him suggest that Gatsby was

War Poems
War is a time of violence, protest, death and pain for many people around the world. With this conflict,
a lot of poetry is written because poetry is one of the most common ways for people to put across their
feelings about situations. War is one of these situations for which many people have very strong
feelings.
A common theme in war poetry is the transformation that war brings about in a person. Many poems
reveal boys going into war and becoming young men after the experience. Another dominant theme in
war poems is about the forgotten soldiers who lost their lives and weren t remembered.
Many poems have been written about war and the feelings evoked by war. Even though a lot of war
poetry was written before World War 1, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However Gibson uses his words well and there are some smart lines throughout the poem. The
rhyming is very simple and the final word in each line rhymes with the other final word in each two
lined stanza. The simple nature of the rhythm in the poem gives it a gentle flow which is very
appropriate for the subject matter.
The poet s ability to use basic words, structure and rhythm appropriately enables him to create a smart
and crisp poem. The simplicity of the poem allows the readers to recognize the serious subject matter
of the poem, which is war.
This next poem was written by me. I got the inspiration for this poem after reading a number of other
war poems and remembering all the people who lost their lives at war. It is called Young lives lost
The eerie night was torn
By the blistering light of dawn
Many soldiers, many very young,
Their first time holding a gun.
Some no more than 16 years
Bravely holding back the burning tears
Youth s ignorance had been lost
The line of no return was crossed
War had turned these boys to men
Many would never see home again
And unless the senseless killing is ceased
The departed souls will never rest in peace.
My poem is written in a similar style to Gibsons poem. I followed the same rhyming patterns, and
used a simple structure, however my poem uses some slightly more complicated words. The general
theme is the same, but

Lord Of The Flies Asch Conformity Experiment
In Lord Of The Flies the boys are faced with a choice of who to follow such as in the Asch
Conformity Experiment when they were faced with the challenge of being different and choosing what
they thought was right. The Lord Of The Flies shows how when faced to make a choice the main
factor that will sway the decision is surrounding peers. In the Asch Conformity Experiment the test
subjects were asked to match a certain line length with one of three choices. Asch had told all but one
subject what line to choose and when the one subject that had not been told what choice to choose
most all the time picked the same line as the others. The times that the subject picked the right answer
was when there was another subject that was told to pick the right choice this made the subject feel as
he was not alone. When the boys in Lord Of The Flies are alone on a decision that they have chosen
they decide to follow the crowd that has the most followers not caring about the consequences of their
choices; such as in the Asch Conformity Experiment when the subjects choose the wrong line so they
will not be different. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

them feel that they are not alone. The boys in Lord Of The Flies such as Jack s followers picked him

showing that humans will make decisions so that they will not feel different. The experiment also
showed that people will make choices if there is someone who picks the same choice as them because
they will have someone to be with. The experiment mainly showed that people will make decisions
based on what others say that way they will not feel alone and different from

Patriarchy In The Woman Warrior
Unlike math or science, most literature is often open to different interpretations; within every novel
there is an inevitable grey area in what an author exactly means to convey to their readers. The same is
undeniably true within Maxine Hong Kingston s memoir The Woman Warrior, a nonlinear
hodgepodge of ghosts, white tiger and tongues. In the traditional roman fleuve, the protagonist strives
to reconcile self and society so that they can construct a coherent self and achieve wholeness, in The
Woman Warrior however, Kingston cannot reconcile. The fact is, Kingston has internalized so many
doctrinal values of the patriarchy, that she incapable of discerning a middle ground between slavery
and rebellion. Throughout the memoir it is apparent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

frogs that were strung together and the reader is reminded that each story Kingston has told is

ghosts and women warriors are combined into one cruel knot that Kingston utilizes as her weapon
against the suppression of her culture. Kingston, in finally finding her voice through these forbidden

Play Station Vs Xbox Essay
Despite bearing some superficial similarities, the differences between Xbox and Play Station are clear.
The revolutionary debate between the two systems has become extraordinary. Deciding about which
one to choose comes with the decision of the cost, the online gameplay, and the design of the system.
Determining the cost of what you would like to spend on a system is very difficult. Because you do
want the one that has the best gameplay and visual appeals, right? Which games are better may
ultimately come down to the types of titles you like to play, though, so there is always room for
debate. (Digital Trends Website) The cost of games for every system are the same, but as far as the
console, Play Station is cheaper. According to statistics in 2014, Xbox one was retailed at $500
meanwhile the Play Station was marked at $400. (PC ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Green Chile Jimmy Santiago Baca Summary
The subtext of the poem Green Chile by Jimmy Santiago Baca implies that women from New Mexico
accomplish traditional gender role duties, such as cooking and serving men. Gender roles place the
grandmother in the kitchen preparing a feast for her grandson who is visiting; providing for men has
been practiced through generations, this perspective has been embedded in the mind as a norm. For
instance, when the narrator s grandmother serves [him] green chile con carne between soft warm
leaves of corn tortillas, with beans and rice her sacrifice (32 34). This portrays how she gives her all in
order to attend her little prince (35). The narrator describes his grandmother s love and passion for the

Rhetorical Analysis Of Staying By Scott Russell Sanders
In the passage from Staying: Making a home in a restless world, Scott Russell Sanders responds to an
essay by Salman Rushdie, a writer who left his native India for England. To develop his perspective
about moving, Sanders uses a variety of rhetorical strategies. Scott Russell Sanders introduces his
viewpoint by saying: In the newspaper I read that, even though our sprawling system of interstate
highways is crumbling, the president has decided that we should triple it in size, and all without
raising our taxes a nickel. Only a populace drunk on driving, a populace infatuated with the myth of
the open road, could hear such a proposal without hooting (lines 20 26). In this example, Scott Russell
Sanders mentions the expansion of interstate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, he evokes the support of his idea that moving is unreasonable and illogical within the reader. In
addition, the author opposes Rushdie s enthusiasm for migration by quoting Rushdie s words on the
elimination of nationalism that comes with moving. Sanders then says, ... who would pretend that a
history of migration has immunized the United States against bigotry? And even if, by uprooting
ourselves, we shed our chauvinism, is that all we lose? (lines 40 43) Sanders uses rhetorical questions
to show reader that nationalism may be lost when people move, but the greater aspects of a country
may be lost as well. With this said, the author includes historical references to verify his claim that
many of the worst abuses have been carried out by people who root themselves in ideas rather than
places . Scott Russell Sanders includes how nations have been sabotaged after migration when he
says: Migrants often pack up their visions and values with the rest of their bagages and carry them
along. The Spaniards devastated Central and South America by imposing on this New World the
religion, economics, and politics of the

Explain Why Didn T The Us Jump In To The Holocaust
Zaccheaus Allen
Ms. Childs
English 10
17 October 2014
Why didn t the USA step in to the holocaust faster Why didn t the USA jump in the holocaust sooner?
People might wonder and ask why. Well the USA was made to be one of the most powerful nations
political and social. And after world war, a burial war that lost USA a lot of people, the USA signed an
isolationist policy. That meant that the USA could not step in the to any other domestic conflicts. The
holocaust was a genocide that killed a lot of Jews. Over 6 million. The genocide started in January
30th, 1933 when Adolf Hitler can to be general of his army going 100000 deep. After eight years, in
December of 1941 the USA jumped in after years of watching to help. Before the USA jumped in to
help a little under 5 million Jews were killed. After four years of war and a million more Jews killed
the genocide ended in may 8 1945. There is nothing that compares to the Holocaust (Fidel Castro). ...

they knew that they need to act and after 2 years they finaly started to talk it out. World war two was
the war that stopped the genocide.it was a cold bloody war that only led to death. Over 60 million
people died. That s 2.5% of the worlds population. This war lasted 6 years and all started because of

Plato s Euthyphro
Our thought process and our framework of how we choose to go about our day are shaped by our
beliefs and morals. What is the difference between the two? How do we choose which one is right?
Plato s Euthyphro dilemma challenges that idea, he asked a timeless question of It s morally good and
God recognizes it as morally good so it s morally good or is it morally good because God wills it to be
morally good?
We can argue and take the first side that humans have a moral compass and possess the ability to
differentiate what is right or wrong without religion governing them. It can be interpreted that we can
be morally good, so therefore being morally good can be independent of God. God recognizes the
deed as morally good and then approves

There are many reasons as to why humans have sex: desire, love, control, and procreation are some of
the more common explanations given by those who engage in sex. What happens in the human brain
and body to ignite motivation to have sex? First, we need to define what motivation is. Becker (2009)
described motivation as the internal drive that encourages engagement in behaviors, including sexual
behavior. Some behaviors such as eating and sexual behavior are intrinsically motivating because the
behavior itself is the reward (Becker, 2009). We will begin looking at sexual motivation by first
looking at the hormonal impact on attraction in men and women, responses to sexual stimulus, and

The Drug Rehab Of Utah
Drug Rehab in Utah When searching for a drug rehab in Utah it is a good idea to narrow down the
search by inpatient or outpatient treatment programs. Many people find it helpful to speak with
someone in the addiction rehabilitation profession; such as an intake counselor, to determine which
type of program will be the best fit. Important factors to consider when making this decision are: Is the
addicted person willing or able to move into a treatment facility? If the answer is no, then outpatient
treatment will be the only route to pursue. If they are willing to enroll in an inpatient program, it is
best to begin searching inpatient drug rehab programs in Utah. Statistically, inpatient programs have
the highest success rates for helping their clients achieve and maintain their sobriety. Does the
program provide detoxification services? When a person is physically addicted to drugs or alcohol it is
important they receive detoxification prior to beginning their treatment program. This ensures the
substances are out of their system. Completing detox also prepares the program participant for the
process of recovery both mentally and physically. Location? Many people find that attending a rehab
that is not located near their stomping grounds or close to home is beneficial. This is best suited for
individuals willing to enroll in an inpatient drug rehab in Utah. How will treatment be paid for? Most
drug rehabs accept payment from insurance companies or other forms of

The Movie Ava Kept Yelling Essay
Throughout the game, Ava kept yelling LUCA, STOP! and would become very frustrated when Luca

Nursing students today are diverse with different learning styles. Nursing educators must shape
students to become critical thinkers and there are a host of approaches for instructors to develop

teaching approaches. However, educators need to become proficient in identifying individual student

Relationship Between Human Relationship With Humans
The Metaphysical correlation with Humans
In God s elemental metaphysics, Angels, Jins, demons and the universe of nature are intertwined and
interact continuously and continuously to form the process of metaphysics in everyday life.
Metaphysics is an abstract reconstruction of events composed of components of human action that
starts with the physical action thought, done and spoken. Metaphysics is also a typical manifestation
of humanity and the phenomenon of human existence. The close interconnection between man and
metaphysics is illustrated by the role of metaphysics in the process of forming attributes that
ultimately shape the character of the human identity. The introduction of metaphysics is a fact that can
trace back from the earliest human development. In this case, humans play a role in presenting the
existence of history that can arise if the human life had moved to tomorrow and leave yesterday. Thus,
yesterday as the embodiment of human existence in the history of his life. The person who is forty, or
sixty years old, is of course not born at that age, and this proves that every human being has a past as a
proof of the existence of history in which there is a human role in history. Impossible Iqbal s history
can express as the process appears without the meaning of human role. Man as an object of
metaphysics consists of physical, soul and spirit is the inherent unity of humans.

The Resurgence Of Social Unrest
On August 9, 2014, the resurgence of social unrest similar to the 1960s civil rights movement began.
Michael Brown, a black teenager in Ferguson, Missouri, was shot and killed by Darren Wilson, a
white police officer. Initially, the shooting had minor media attention, but it slowly accumulated. As
more media outlets shed light on the topic, many people, especially those in the black community,
suspected that the shooting was racially charged. After the shooting of Michael Brown, more stories of
unarmed black people being killed by white officers surfaced, suggesting that the acts were not out of
self defense, but rather racial prejudice. The increasing rate of race related shootings suggests that
ignorance is the root of these officers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All five statements notably differed from Wilson s account.
Dorian Johnson, Brown s friend, was with him when Wilson stopped them near a local convenience
store. Johnson recounted that Wilson ordered him and Brown to walk on the sidewalk. Wilson
allegedly pulled Brown by the neck into his car, but Brown escaped Wilson s grip before running
away. Wilson stepped out of his car and shot at Brown resulting in Brown s infamous hands up, don t
shoot surrender (Eromosele, 5 Eyewitness Accounts of Michael Brown s Shooting ). Johnson s report
suggests that Wilson was not threatened by Mike Brown, and Michael tried to surrender to the officer.
Based on Johnson s account, Brown had not provoked Officer Wilson or caused any major
disturbances in order to be shot.
Tiffany Mitchell, Piaget Crenshaw, and Emmanuel Freeman retell similar narratives about the struggle
between Brown and Wilson. Mitchell observed the gunfire through her car window as she awaited the
arrival of Crenshaw. Crenshaw stood on her balcony as she witnessed Wilson s pursuit of Brown; her
crucial description included the detail that Brown s body was reversed from the direction he ran
because he attempted to inform Wilson that he was defenseless. Crenshaw s point about the direction
of Brown s body connects with Johnson s point that Brown faced the officer to surrender. Freeman
tweeted about the shots he overheard outside of his home. A

How did this all start? Who could have warned General Washington and his men? Plug in your

Ireland. This was about the same time North Carolina became a royal colony. She married William
Darragh, a family friend and member of the clergy, in 1753. They moved to Philadelphia a few years
later, settling into a large Quaker community. William became a tutor and Lydia found work as a
midwife. They raised five children, with four others perishing as infants. Quakers were known for
being pacifists, though the Darraghs secretly supported the rebels and their cause. The plot thickened
as British troops marched into Philadelphia in 1777. The following October General Washington
failed to recapture the city, and his troops retreated to Whitemarsh. The day after, Major John Andre
demanded the use of the Darragh s home for meetings. Lydia s cousin helped persuade them to allow
her to stay in her home, though the youngest of the children were sent to their relatives outside the
city. Not only could they continue to live normally, but spying on British meetings would be much
easier. The battle of Princeton was won in 1777 as

Borges Misrepresentations
The writer Jorge Luis Borges is known for his inclusion of references to other literary texts in his own
writing. Occasionally, Borges seems to make references to real works, but they do not exist. He also
makes references to works that exist, but he incorrectly represents the plot or characters of the text.
There is an argument about whether or not Borges reference to Liddell Hart s work in The Garden of
Forking Paths is a true misrepresentation and whether or not the misrepresentation should be
important to the overall meaning of the short story. For my research paper, I intend to explore these
mistakes as misrepresentations by explaining reasons why Borges might have intentionally made such
mistakes as well as how these misrepresentations

John Locke Unspoken Contract Essay

The Unspoken/Unwritten contract of Mankind
Is there an unwritten rule or acknowledgement between mankind in which we have agreed to a
disproportionate and unequal amount of earthly possessions? Or have we been coerced by our
ancestors through rules and laws of society that have been forgotten through time? John Locke a
rational and just man who usually battles his arguments with morals and logic speaks in his treatise
chapter V about God. John Locke opens the chapter speaking about equality and that God gave the
earth to the children of man therefore no one was granted more than the other. Locke took his stance
on the appropriation of lands and earthly possessions. Locke proposed the theory of labor. Locke s ...

Claiming that it is acceptable to own more than one s labor can service as long as that perishable is
bartered for money (non perishable). Like this, Locke realizes the unspoken contract between
mankind. Indeed one can have a disproportionate and unequal possession of the earth by agreeing to
use gold and silver. Since everyone agrees to use currency inequality becomes fair and just due to the
fact that a man s worth is determined by his labor. Locke believed that bartering for goods with money
was presumably prejudiced, and voluntary because both sides would have something to gain. A
famous saying silence is consent has also lead me to believe that throughout time some became more
entitled to more than others. With a vast quantity of land per capita some found themselves acquiring
more just because they could. Others allowed it therefore if it was accepted.
But many questions are still unanswered. If we can accumulate as much money without causing others
poverty are those who are poor entitled to my money? According to Locke s view if we did not cause
that persons poverty we are not responsible for their suffering. A catch 22 indeed though we did not
cause the persons suffering, it is the same that we did nothing to stop it. This is a question of ethics
John Locke overlooked. It is a question of ethic though helping a person who is in need can be
debatable, is helping a person who is condemned to death by hunger

Mononucleosis Research Paper
Infectious Mononucleosis is a viral infection characterized by swelling of the lymph glands.
Mononucleosis is more commonly referred to as mono or kissing disease because it is transferred by
saliva. Mono was first named glandular fever in the 1880s by a group of german physicians; the name
stems from the characteristics of having swollen glands and high fever. Glandular fever was given the
name Infectious Mononucleosis in 1920 by Thomas P. Sprunt and Frank A. Evans. In 1932, two
researchers that go by the names of Paul and Bunnell discovered a way to help doctors diagnose mono
more accurately. A few years later Anthony Epstein, Barr and Achong discovered Epstein Barr Virus
(EBV) in the year 1964 and categorized it in the herpes family. Epstein Barr Virus and Infectious
Mononucleosis had no connection until 1968 when Gertrude and Werner Henle discovered how to

Johannes Kepler s Accomplishments
Johannes Kepler was born on December 27, 1571in Weil der Stadt, Germany and died on November

scientists believed that planets in the solar system traveled in circular orbits around the Earth. Kepler
came from a modest family in a small German town. He began university studies in 1598, where he
grasped ideas of Copernicus s works and tutored in its complex details by Maestlin. He experienced a
moment of illumination while teaching a small class, struck him that the spacing among the six
Copernican planets might be explained circumscribing and inscribing each orbit with one of the five
regular polyhedrons.
Kepler was a German astronomer, mathematician, astrologists and a natural philosopher who
discovered three major laws of planetary motion: the plantes move in elliptical orbits with the sun at

A Long Way Gone Freedom Analysis
Since the beginning of A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah, the protagonist of the novel Ishmael
endeavors to flee from the hardships enkindled by the RUF rebel organization that has amalgamated
the country of Sierra Leone, officially making it a war zone. Moreover, for more than two years
Ishmael has attempted to escape from the rebels, moving from village to village, rummaging through
abandoned homes. Seemingly, the rebels would make their way to Ishmael, sweeping all villages.
Deprived of food or any sign of hope surviving as a lone wolf , Ishmael enlisted in the Army of Sierra
Leone to fight against the radical organization. Ishmael risked his life for the prime purpose of
surviving and to pursue freedom. Furthermore, self determination was one of the reasons for such
bravery, but it was also due to specific objects that aided in Ishmael s journey for freedom.
Nonetheless, in his literary work, A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier, Ishmael Beah uses
symbols to underscore his central theme of oppression and/or freedom. The most evident symbols that
accentuate the theme of oppression and/or freedom are the moon, the rap cassette tape, and the AK 47.
The moon s role in Ishmael s journey is very prominent, as it exhibits the theme of freedom also
oppression in the novel. When Ishmael is in dire need of comfort he looks to the moon for help when
struggling to survive the civil war alone. Furthermore, the moon for many in Sierra Leone portray the

Analysis Of The New Jim Crow
Stories that go untold are often never heard and forgotten through time. The author of The New Jim
Crow, Michelle Alexander, by writing her book understandingly so went out of her way to document
the stories and pain of millions of minorities, whom in the land of the free are instead forced into
undoubtful imprisonment. Alexander has spent most of her life fighting racial injustice and teaching
about civil rights. A graduate from Stanford Law School and Vanderbilt University, Michelle
Alexander became a civil rights lawyer and legal scholar. She has dedicated her life to fighting the
racial bias in the criminal justice system and ending mass incarceration, devoting much of her time to
writing about and spreading the awareness of the racial caste system that we are currently in. In
addition, Alexander has spent several years as the director of the Racial Justice Project at the ACLU of
Northern California, which also lead a national campaign against racial profiling by law enforcement
(NewJimCrow.com). In her work, The New Jim crow, Alexander cautiously argues that from the
beginning of the United States all the way to its first foundations, can one find that the foundations
were layered upon a racial caste system to which just like the United States Constitution, can
essentially adapt overtime and exploit the original undercaste of minorities that were its earliest
victims; while her book is well supported through her informative use of historical facts and events,

The most obvious advantage of video marketing is that it s so highly engaging. The human brain has
evolved in order to pay attention to moving images and sounds and this is why we are naturally
inclined to stop and watch the television when it s on in the background. Have you ever been talking
to someone when there s a television in the room only to notice that they re actually looking straight
past you and at the screen? The sound could be off and it could even be playing adverts but still some
people will be almost unable to turn away. This isn t anything personal (usually), it s just a perfect
example of how moving images hold our attention.
Another great example is a classroom. Do you remember when the teacher would say they were going
to put on a video for a particular lesson? Even the noisiest of classes would fall silent and become very
well behaved at this point even when the topic of the video wasn t anything particularly interesting.

The Righteousness Of God Can Not Be Received By Faith Essay
Means
This series of events culminates in the explanation of how this justification is appropriated to
believers: To be received by faith (Rom. 3:25). First, as the means of justification, this faith is the sole
grounds for being justified. This stresses the earlier point of Romans 3: For by works of the law no
human being will be justified in his sight (Rom. 3:20). The righteousness of God cannot be earned by
works of law; rather, as Constable notes on Romans 1:17, faith alone is the vehicle that brings the
righteousness of God to people. Justification is given to believers through faith, not through works. In
Romans, this is a crucial point demonstrating the inability of all human efforts at law keeping to
secure a restored standing with God. Schreiner writes, The sustained emphasis on faith in Christ is
present because it distinguishes Paul s gospel from Judaism. Ultimately, the Jews had a more
optimistic view of human ability. By contrast, Paul asserts that human beings cannot obey the law.
They can only receive by faith the gift of God offered in Christ Jesus. Since all are depraved, as Paul
asserted in the first three chapters of Romans, none can please God by works of law. After all, Isaiah
writes, We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted
garment (Is. 64:4). Even the most ardent law keepers of Jesus day did not possess a sufficient
righteousness (Matt. 5:20); only one offense made them culpable of the

Moore s Law Essay

Report on Moore s Law
Moore s Law was first predicted in 1965 and hence adjusted in 1975 by Gordon Moore; and, it was
popularized by Carver Mead after the adjustment in 1975. In Moore s first law, it state a hypothesis
that that the number of transistor in a dense integrated circuit doubles approximately every two years.
The Moore s second law express which can be described as the economic side of Moore s Law
expresses that the cost of production of semiconductor fab would increase at a steady rate. In brief,
both of the Moore s Laws express the idea that the transistors in the integrated circuit will be doubled
every two years while the cost of the production will be halved at the same rate of doubling.
The Moore s Law was not such accurate from 1965 to 1975. At that time, the time for doubling is
about 12 months when the hypothesis was first in 1965. However, it decreased to about 18 24 months
in the last ten years. Therefore, many people thought the hypothesis was wrong. Even after the
adjustment of Moore s law, the questions still exist. Many people believed that development of
transistors would meet a physical limit leading to the end of Moore s law. However this time, the fact
prove that they were wrong. In that following 30 years, the Moore s Law was very accurate. As the
following diagram shows, the transistors in circuit was about 2300 in early 1970s. Then it increased to
29000 in the later 70s. Hence, the

Using Linear And Non Linear Derivatives
Nowadays, hedge become a significant element, which may determine the success of a business, to
most of the multinational corporations. To form a value maximizing hedging strategy, which is to
identify the appropriate mix of linear and non linear derivatives, turn into a major challenge towards
corporate risk managers. The article explains several questions about a multinational corporation s
strategy in choosing and mixing the hedging instruments. For instance, why do most firms use mainly
linear derivatives; why do a substantially smaller number of firms use only non linear instruments; and
what factors influence the use of linear or non linear or the combination of the two derivatives. The
researchers testified that the external and internal of a company s business risk are the key factor
towards the use of these two types of hedging instruments. In the practice, companies face multiple
business risk, which include price uncertainty and quantity uncertainty. In order to reduce the
dispersion of operating cash flows, managers have to contend with two risk sources, the price risk and
the quantity risk. As quantity and price risk increase, it is more likely that the firm would experience
over hedging costs from a strategy of matching a linear hedging position to an expected exposure
level. Managers should reduce the linear hedging position and substituted to some non linear
contracts. The authors illustrate the fact by providing a numerical business

Not only do I desire to obtain a career in multiple disciplines in the field of speech language
pathology, but I also plan to create a vocation of my own. My goal is to create my own series of
activity books as well as own my own private practice. Also, I have a specific interest in voice and
fluency in the adult population, and would love to work in that field as well. In my three years of
college, the aspects of speech have become especially intriguing to me, not only because of in class
interests, but out of class interests. As the president and member of the North Carolina Agricultural
and Technical State University Fellowship Gospel Choir, I love to sing, and I find a interesting
connection between speech and singing that simply amazes me. Lastly, I hope to gain clinical
experience, obtain my doctoral degree, and seek employment at a University to impact the lives of

Autobiography Of My Childhood
I am 16 years old. My dog is a mix of Husky and Saint Bernard. My favorite flavor of cake is
chocolate. I manage the wrestling team, and have since 6th grade. I own a Toyota T100. I have a 2
year old niece. I like roses. I want to go to college for business so I can own my own bakery. I have
two brothers. My house looks like a log cabin on the outside, but it s just a regular house on the inside.
Though mint chocolate chip is my favorite flavor of ice cream, I love changing it up and getting
different things, like a chocolate vanilla twist in a waffle cone or a strawberry milkshake. I was
student of the month in 7th and 9th grade. I go to Arundel, which is right out of Biddeford and maybe
25 minutes from Portland, a lot. I hate out of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

November and I still do not have my driver s license. I ve never raked blueberries. My dad owns his
own seaweed boat and harvests it 6 days a week. I ve never been in an airplane. My best friend is my
cousin. We used to own chickens when i was younger, and i named one of them Warmbeak, though
they all had warm beaks. I want to get lots of tattoos once I am eighteen as my dad will not allow to

they just asked if I wanted the job and when I said yes they told me when my first day was. My
favorite video game is Grand Theft Auto, it always has been. I love swimming. I almost got a
detention in middle school, along with a few of my friends, for something I didn t even do. My
birthday was the same day as Thanksgiving last year, and I loved being surrounded by all of my
family. I will never ride on the back of someone s motorcycle, because not everyone that is around pay
attention. I take afternoon voc, for baking and pastry. My dad did not allow me to buy a truck that I
wanted because it was too heavy duty and gas money would be horrendous. My brother s names are
Justin, who is the oldest one, and Owen, the older but middle child. I get irritated very easily. I need to

Effects Of The Superpacs Is Something Americans Are...
Research Paper Political Science
The effects of the SuperPACs is something Americans are hearing more and more about in the 2016
campaign. Do Americans have a good understanding of what SuperPACs are and how they can affect
the Presidential election.? This is something that needs to be discussed. As Americans, don t we have
the right to know who is financing the elections? These are only a few of the questions many people
should be asking themselves.
The history of the government attempting to reform or suppress candidate donations for the office of
presidency goes further back than you may think. In 1971, Congress passed the Federal Elections
Campaign Act (FECA). This was important because it was to set limits on the amount of money
campaigns could spend on advertisement and mandated the reporting of the source of funds to the
federal government (Magleby, Light, Nemacheck, 2015, p. 249). According to Magleby, after the
major scandal of Watergate, Congress made stricter laws regarding limitations on spending and
contributions of the candidates. Congress created the Federal Elections Commission (FEC);
accordingly, the responsibilities of the FEC are to inforce the laws set forth by the FECA.
Next, in 2002, Congress passed the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (BCRA), while President
George W. Bush held office (Magleby, Light, Nemacheck, 2015, p. 250). The BCRA bill was
extremely important because individuals were the focal point of campaign contributions along with

Atomic Bombs And Its Effects On The World s Top Scientists
In the morning of July 16, 1945, the very first nuclear explosion took place in Alamogordo, New
Mexico. This one very specific explosion was the first test of the most damaging weapon ever known
to man. These explosive devices took almost six years to research and develop. It took a team of hand
selected of the world s top scientists. This collaboration was famously known as the Manhattan
Project. Less than a month after the test, President Truman dropped two nuclear bombs on Japan.
These weapons were dropped only three days apart. The aftermath was so crucial it made the Japanese
finally to surrender.
Before there was the aspect of nuclear bombs people destroyed each other at each other stuff using
conventional bombs. Casing full of explosives like Trinitrotoluene or known as TNT or ammonium
nitrate. When they are detonated, conventional bombs created most of their energy in the form of a
blast. This blast can go faster than the speed of sound. But imagine if uranium, plutonium, or even a
hydrogen bomb was detonated. It would create a huge mushroom cloud with a vast number
radioactive rays passing through destroying everything in the path.
During this time of scientific discovery, Hitler had been gradually rising to power in Germany
(Smalley). Hitler power made the physicist Leo Szilard and Hungarian Jew Eugene Wigner and
Edward Teller became worried about the stake of their safety. So they decided to flee the country and
come to America. They decided that the President

  • 7. Essay on Expand Ukraine’s Political Ambitions The month of November in Ukraine was interesting, to say the least. Politically, the Ukrainian President, Viktor Yanukovych attempts to reform amending bills, while also socially ignoring the decline in press freedom. However, a major noteworthy article appeared on the stands: Ukraine goes offshore. This article is probably one of the most important events that occurred in November, which discusses revenue lost on offshore tax schemes. As an attempt to electronically expand Ukraine s political ambitions, Viktor Yanukovych passed a recent bill early in November that will allow votes in the Parliament to be conducted by an electronic card (Ukrainian). If Yanukovych does not approve of the media associated with the press, he opposes the spreading of the ideas. Unfortunately, Yanukovych seems to acknowledge the fact that he will only allow production of news, journals, pictures, etc., if they portray the truth. The truth, in fact, is quite limited by the strict regulations Yanukovych orders Ukraine s networking companies to follow. Once Ukraine becomes socially deteriorated by Yanukovych s policies, Ukraine will suffer with various downfalls in freedom. I am a strong opponent to this ordeal for these reasons. • 9. The Great Gatsby Truly Great Greatness lies in everyone despite who you are or what you do. You can be anything in the world and still be great if you care enough about something that you are willing to do anything for it. In F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby, he illustrates this idea. Gatsby was truly great because he did everything for the one he truly loved, which was Daisy despite how he made his money. Since everyone agrees to use currency inequality becomes fair and just due to the fact that a man s worth is determined by his labor. A Long Way Gone Freedom Analysis Since the beginning of A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah, the protagonist of the novel Ishmael endeavors to flee from the hardships enkindled by the RUF rebel organization that has amalgamated the country of Sierra Leone, officially making it a war zone. Moreover, for more than two years Ishmael has attempted to escape from the rebels, moving from village to village, rummaging through abandoned homes. Seemingly, the rebels would make their way to Ishmael, sweeping all villages. Deprived of food or any sign of hope surviving as a lone wolf , Ishmael enlisted in the Army of Sierra Leone to fight against the radical organization. Ishmael risked his life for the prime purpose of surviving and to pursue freedom. Furthermore, self determination was one of the reasons for such bravery, but it was also due to specific objects that aided in Ishmael s journey for freedom. Nonetheless, in his literary work, A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier, Ishmael Beah uses symbols to underscore his central theme of oppression and/or freedom. The most evident symbols that accentuate the theme of oppression and/or freedom are the moon, the rap cassette tape, and the AK 47. The moon s role in Ishmael s journey is very prominent, as it exhibits the theme of freedom also oppression in the novel. When Ishmael is in dire need of comfort he looks to the moon for help when struggling to survive the civil war alone. The author of The New Jim Crow, Michelle Alexander, by writing her book understandingly so went out of her way to document the stories and pain of millions of minorities, whom in the land of the free are instead forced into undoubtful imprisonment. Alexander has spent most of her life fighting racial injustice and teaching about civil rights. A graduate from Stanford Law School and Vanderbilt University, Michelle Alexander became a civil rights lawyer and legal scholar. She has dedicated her life to fighting the racial bias in the criminal justice system and ending mass incarceration, devoting much of her time to writing about and spreading the awareness of the racial caste system that we are currently in. In addition, Alexander has spent several years as the director of the Racial Justice Project at the ACLU of Northern California, which also lead a national campaign against racial profiling by law enforcement (NewJimCrow.com). In her work, The New Jim crow, Alexander cautiously argues that from the beginning of the United States all the way to its first foundations, can one find that the foundations were layered upon a racial caste system to which just like the United States Constitution, can essentially adapt overtime and exploit the original undercaste of minorities that were its earliest victims; while her book is well supported through her informative use of historical facts and events, her ... • 38. The Righteousness Of God Can Not Be Received By Faith Essay Means This series of events culminates in the explanation of how this justification is appropriated to believers: To be received by faith (Rom. 3:25). First, as the means of justification, this faith is the sole grounds for being justified. This stresses the earlier point of Romans 3: For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight (Rom. 3:20). The righteousness of God cannot be earned by works of law; rather, as Constable notes on Romans 1:17, faith alone is the vehicle that brings the righteousness of God to people. Justification is given to believers through faith, not through works. In Romans, this is a crucial point demonstrating the inability of all human efforts at law keeping to secure a restored standing with God. Schreiner writes, The sustained emphasis on faith in Christ is present because it distinguishes Paul s gospel from Judaism. Ultimately, the Jews had a more optimistic view of human ability. By contrast, Paul asserts that human beings cannot obey the law. They can only receive by faith the gift of God offered in Christ Jesus. Since all are depraved, as Paul asserted in the first three chapters of Romans, none can please God by works of law. After all, Isaiah writes, We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment (Is. 64:4). Even the most ardent law keepers of Jesus day did not possess a sufficient righteousness (Matt. 5:20); only one offense made them culpable of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moore s Law Essay Zhichun Yao (zy328) CS 101 D Brian L Stuart 10/19/2016 Report on Moore s Law Moore s Law was first predicted in 1965 and hence adjusted in 1975 by Gordon Moore; and, it was popularized by Carver Mead after the adjustment in 1975. In Moore s first law, it state a hypothesis that that the number of transistor in a dense integrated circuit doubles approximately every two years. The Moore s second law express which can be described as the economic side of Moore s Law expresses that the cost of production of semiconductor fab would increase at a steady rate. In brief, both of the Moore s Laws express the idea that the transistors in the integrated circuit will be doubled every two years while the cost of the production will be halved at the same rate of doubling. The Moore s Law was not such accurate from 1965 to 1975. At that time, the time for doubling is about 12 months when the hypothesis was first in 1965. However, it decreased to about 18 24 months in the last ten years. Therefore, many people thought the hypothesis was wrong. Even after the adjustment of Moore s law, the questions still exist. Many people believed that development of transistors would meet a physical limit leading to the end of Moore s law. However this time, the fact prove that they were wrong. In that following 30 years, the Moore s Law was very accurate. As the following diagram shows, the transistors in circuit was about 2300 in early 1970s. Then it increased to 29000 in the later 70s. The article explains several questions about a multinational corporation s strategy in choosing and mixing the hedging instruments. For instance, why do most firms use mainly linear derivatives; why do a substantially smaller number of firms use only non linear instruments; and what factors influence the use of linear or non linear or the combination of the two derivatives. The researchers testified that the external and internal of a company s business risk are the key factor towards the use of these two types of hedging instruments. In the practice, companies face multiple business risk, which include price uncertainty and quantity uncertainty. In order to reduce the dispersion of operating cash flows, managers have to contend with two risk sources, the price risk and the quantity risk. Do Americans have a good understanding of what SuperPACs are and how they can affect the Presidential election.? This is something that needs to be discussed. As Americans, don t we have the right to know who is financing the elections? These are only a few of the questions many people should be asking themselves. The history of the government attempting to reform or suppress candidate donations for the office of presidency goes further back than you may think. In 1971, Congress passed the Federal Elections Campaign Act (FECA). This was important because it was to set limits on the amount of money campaigns could spend on advertisement and mandated the reporting of the source of funds to the federal government (Magleby, Light, Nemacheck, 2015, p. 249). According to Magleby, after the major scandal of Watergate, Congress made stricter laws regarding limitations on spending and contributions of the candidates. Congress created the Federal Elections Commission (FEC); accordingly, the responsibilities of the FEC are to inforce the laws set forth by the FECA. Next, in 2002, Congress passed the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (BCRA), while President George W. Bush held office (Magleby, Light, Nemacheck, 2015, p. 250).
