My Grandmother s Parents On My Dad s Side Essay
My great grandparents, Joe Seymour and Bonnie Hudkins are my grandfather s parents on my dad s
side, and they changed the denomination in which they believe several times. As a boy, Joe grew up
attending the Episcopal church, but as a young man, he converted to the Lutheran church when he
married my great grandmother Bonnie who was born and raised a Lutheran. While my grandfather
was young, my great grandfather sent him without telling my great grandmother to an Episcopal Boys
Home to correct his misbehavior. However, my great grandmother became upset that my grandfather
took him to the boys home and there were other religious differences which led them to leave the
Episcopal and Lutheran church altogether and try out the Church of Christ. Once they were connected
with the Church of Christ, they accepted the doctrine that they were the true church of the New
Testament. My grandmother s parents on my dad s side were Robert Ross Jr. and Hazel (Helen)
Mayfield. Pentecostalism believes in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in
tongues which is what Robert Ross grew up believing. However, Robert and Helen decided to divorce
soon after their children were born, and Robert remarried to a woman named Mary. Mary s faith is in
the Seventh Day Adventist church, so after marrying Mary; Robert converted to be a Seventh Day
Adventist to adapt to Mary s beliefs about diet and health as well as life in general. My great
grandmother, Helen on the other hand, is

Who Killed Claggart
Most of the sailors on the ship loved Billy Budd. However, Claggart and his sidekick Squeak, did not.
Although Billy did his best to either avoid them, or on those occasions in which he did come face to
face with one or the other, he did his best to be kind to them. While Billy was being as absolutely
courteous as possible, that did not help the flaming hatred that was burning in their hearts. As a matter
of speaking, Billy was actually feeding the rage and fury that had been smoldering there even before
they knew Billy even existed. When Claggart was accusing Billy in front of Caption Veere, Billy
began his stuttering cycle that only occurred when he was under stress, or being questioned about
something. They were in the captions cabin during ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If he struck him, he would have been agreeing to everything Claggart had said because he would be
trying to get rid of the evidence . He was getting flustered and Claggart was using that against him.
The best way to overcome Claggart s intentions would be to either stay silent so as not to show how
flustered he was, or surmount his stuttering so as to prove a point. The last thing that Billy needed to
do was even lay a finger on the open mouthed Claggart, because that would just prove his point. The
last reason that Billy should have not struck Claggart is because Caption Veere was a fair man. He
knew what kind of man Billy was, and he had an understanding of what Claggart his master at arms
was. One was a loving, responsible, caring young man, and the other was a hating, dark, shadowy man
that was not to be trusted with any mans word. When Billy struck out at Claggart, he was punishing
Claggart, and striking an imperial officer. Billy then would have to be punished for his misdoings, and
nothing would be done about Claggart because he was, well...

The Provider And Patient Attributes
Provider and Patient Attributes
We collected a set of attributes for providers and patients from the EDW. For providers, we extracted
employee ID, employee role, and a physician index (a Boolean value; 1 if provider is a type of
physician, 0 if not). For patients, we extracted age, encounter type (all inpatient in this data set),
admission and discharge times, primary diagnosis, discharge location, length of stay, med service
(department to which the patient was admitted), discharge disposition (where the patient was
discharged to), and an index noting whether or not the patient had expired.
Network Visualization
We created two types of networks in this study. The first is a directed bipartite network and represents
interactions between providers and patient records (Figure 2). The second network is undirected and
depicts shared patient record access between providers (Figure 3). Visualization for both networks was
performed using Gephi. [59] Further description of these networks follows.
Provider patient Network
EDW data indicating provider access to a patients EHR was depicted as a directed bipartite graph (see
Figure 2 for a one patient example). The source node designates a provider of type physician, nurse,
pharmacist, etc. The target node designates a patient with a diagnosis of heart failure who was
admitted to NMH in 2012. An edge between them is an indication that the provider has accessed the
patient record. The complete bipartite graph included all providers as

Compare And Contrast The Concepts Of Nationalism And...
HIST 803 Week Three Reading Reflections Two thing stood out to me in this week s readings,
although they are closely intertwined: the concepts of Canadian nationalism and Canadian national
identity. These concepts changed greatly between the three Canadian Prime Ministers tenures, St.
Laurent, Diefenbaker, and Pearson, respectively and how these concepts have continued to change up
to the present day. I have noticed that the majority of this week s readings tend to overlook St. Laurent
s, and his government s, contributions to these two issues for while the longstanding Liberal
government essentially continued MacKenzie King s policies. However they had to do it in a rapidly
Canada and a rapidly changing world. During St. Laurent s time in office the British Commonwealth
declined in spectacular fashion while the United States rise, as an economic, political, and military
superpower was equally spectacular. Canada itself was also changing. The Second World War had
created economic prosperity for the vast majority of Canada s provinces and the premiers were keen to
use their newfound economic independence from Ottawa to create their own provincial identities and
depending on the Premier these identities could be vastly different and I would say that Maurice

With Diefenbaker s decision to cancel the Avro Arrow, the Progressive Conservatives essentially
destroyed Canada s military aircraft industry in favour of purchasing American military equipment.
When it comes to government policies, and how it relates to Canadian nationalism, I equate the height
of Canadian nationalism with Pierre Trudeau s economic and political policies; with the creation of
Petro Canada and enforcing the National Energy Program, and then a decline in nationalism with the

What Led Italy To War In 1914
WWI was a huge time period not only in European history but the world s history because it was the
first major conflict involving different countries at one time. The war sparked nations to develop their
armies and society so that in preceding life they will be viewed as a hierarchy to others. In this
investigation Italy will be the focusing country and why they went to war in 1915. So what were the
key motives that led Italy to join WWI in 1915? Before choosing the preceding two sources,
secondary and primary sources including websites, treaties, and documents were found on the
question above however, none had a lot of significance to answering the question provided. Source

This did not work however because I quickly learned that there wasn t many articles, and or primary
sources about Italy from the year 1914 or 1915. If there had been more of a selection for primary and
secondary sources many historians including myself would be able to use those sources for a deeper
analysis because there would be more facts to support your thesis. It is somewhat challenging for an
historian to find primary sources and along with that secondary sources because I found that some
may have been edited and given false information making it challenging for an historian to find very
valuable information from secondary sources that haven t maybe been edited leading to false data.
With that being said historians are able to make their lives much easier by finding primary sources
because they are taken from the time of the event meaning that it would be very hard to know if the
source had been edited meaning that it is a reliable source to use. After looking at some sources it was
clear that I was presented with more facts from secondary sources and less perspectives from primary
sources making the job a whole lot harder to get the perspectives from others at the time of the event.
On the topic of primary sources I would like to add that primary sources

Arkham Knight Research Paper
The Knight Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn
When I reached the conclusion of Batman: Arkham Knight after 12 hours of solid pacing, I literally
stood behind my chair like a five year old cheering for his favorite superhero, biting my nails as I
could no longer wait to see how it would all end. Not only does the finale of Batman: Arkham Knight
grant the legendary Arkham series the ending it deserves, but it also introduces so many new
gameplay mechanics that it manages to outdo the previous installments in the series, thus becoming
the very best comic book game in existence. If I am to be completely honest here, I have to say that
Batman: Arkham Knight is possibly one of the best video games I ever got to play, period.
Hold my hand, honey. Now push. Come on, push!Hold my hand, honey. Now push. Come on, push!
Whereas previous Arkham titles told their stories by implementing as many iconic super villains as
humanly possible, that of Batman: Arkham Knight is much more focused and centered. The menacing

In these separate side missions, you will mostly be spending your time beating up thugs while chasing
villains like Firefly, Two Face and Penguin, which doesn t always work in the game s favor. Most side
missions end with you confronting the villain behind it all, and instead of it going down with a good
old fashioned boss fight, villains are easily knocked out by performing a Takedown of sorts (e.g.
Stealth Takedown, Vehicle Takedown and Dual Takedown). This is probably my biggest complaint
with Batman: Arkham Knight, because I for one truly enjoyed the recurrent boss fight in previous
Arkham games. In any case, almost all of these side missions are varied enough that they will keep
you interested, and if not, you can always choose to chase another villain and come back to the initial
mission later thanks to the simple and clear Mission

HOME AREA NETWORK
A Home Area Network is an interconnection in which some networking devices are connected with
each other for sharing resources between them with the help of internet. The main advantage of Home
Area Network is that you can share different type of content i.e. videos, audios etc. among different
users. A computer with large storage memory can be used as server which can be easily accessed by
the clients and users can easily access the data whenever they wanted to access. As in Home Area
Network everything i.e. Resources, Data, Information etc. is shared so each user can use devices like
Printers, Scanners which will be very cheap. Also another main advantage of Home Area Network is
that there is no need to buy several different Public IP Address s for different devices, administrator of
network can only have single Public IP Address and assign this public IP address to a modem or a
router, while a modem or a router in turn assigns a private IP address to each device to access the
internet.
Many people are turning to their home computers for both work and entertainment. Some companies

Descriptive Essay About Taco Madre
Taco Madre is a new Mexican restaurant that opened in Niles, IL. There were several reasons why this
restaurant caught my eye. The interior was designed wonderfully but the location didn t seem like a
good fit, the food was tasty, the people who went were from all age groups, and the music was
entertaining. This restaurant had mostly pros with one con, but, overall, this is a restaurant that
everyone should try because it has a taste of Mexico with a modern style.
The first time I went to Taco Madre, I noticed the location right away. This restaurant recently opened
in my area, so my friends and I decided to check it out and get a bite to eat. I noticed it was located
next to Papa Johns and a Wings restaurant. Because, there are other restaurants surrounding the
premises, it will create competition. My first impression was to dock some points because of where it
was located, but the interior area made up for it.
As I stepped inside the restaurant, the first thing that caught my eye was the walls because it had the
same design as the menu. It struck out because the patterns of the flowers that were imprinted on the
walls showed a lot of colors, which helped brighten the room and add a sense of dimension/comfort.
Not only were the colors of the walls vibrant, but so was the salsa bar because it was presented with a
wide range of spices to choose from. Moreover, Taco Madre had an excellent variety of food choices.
Some of the food they served were tacos, burritos, and tortas. The menu was not overbearing like the
Cheesecake Factory, but it was not limited like another restaurant. The aroma of the Mexican food
would make anyone salivate, the food has always tasted fresh; plus, they put extra cilantro with a lime
on the side. My friends and I combined the individual tables to make a gigantic seating arrangement
suitable for the six of us. I ordered a Mahi mahi, which is fried fish; there is an option of flour or corn
tortilla, and for dessert I ordered flan. The flan had vanilla ice cream, cherries, and whipped cream
added to the top. The Mahi mahi was cooked to perfection, and the flan consisted of sugary
ingredients, and the sweet taste filled my mouth. Another factor that struck out to me was

Log(Attendance) = B1wins + B2FCI + B3tktprice + B4payroll + B5state + B6earnspop
In order to explain the effect that winnings percentage has on attendance, I have created an adjusted
economic model that I have specified above. In order to test my economic model, I have compiled
data for each of the variables specified in the model from the years 2003 to 2005.
The question that I will be answering in my regression analysis is whether or not wins have an affect
on attendance in Major League Baseball (MLB). I want to know whether or not wins and other
variables associated with attendance have a positive impact on a team s record. The y variable in my
analysis is going to be attendance for each baseball team. I collected the ... Show more content on

Payroll is another variable that I will be taking into consideration while doing my regression analysis.
I feel that payroll can have an effect on attendance if a team spends more money on popular players.
These players will be able to attract more fans to the games. Therefore, the more a team spends on its
players the more fans they will be able to attract. I will be obtaining this data from
www.baseballreference.com. The average payroll from 2003 2005 for a team was $70,974,000. The
standard deviation of this variable is $31,463,000. The minimum payroll was $19,630,000 and the
maximum was $208,310,000.
I will be using a dummy variable in my analysis that I feel can have an impact on attendance. This
variable is whether or not the team shares its state with another baseball team. There will be an
obvious negative effect on attendance if there is more than one MLB team in a given state. A zero is
going to represent a team that is the only team in their state and a 1 will represent a team who shares
its state with one or more teams. The data for this dummy variable will come from
www.rodneyfort.com/SportsData. The summary statistics here show a mean value of .70 with a
standard error of .4608.
Finally, the last variable that I will be using to relate winning percentage to attendance is the average
earnings of the population. I will be obtaining data based on

youngsters face book is a platform to show off and gain attention. We can see pictures, videos,
comment, and status of these people who have not seen the world yet, and think that they know
everything about life and things around them. For instance, we can see a 14 years old posting about
life. Similarly, some of the students use Facebook as a dating site. They add people and start taking to
them. After some time, we usually see those people uploading photos with their girlfriend or boyfriend
and after a week getting separated. The people of this age group use face book to show themselves
how popular they are. They add people just to increase their friend list and to increase the number of

The Impact of Tort Law Essay
Tort law is a very prevalent aspect of conducting business and daily life in the twenty first century.
According to the textbook, The Legal Environment of Business, tort law provides remedies for the
invasion of various protected interests. (Cross Miller, 2012) In this essay about tort law, I will talk
about a tort case that has personally impacted me. To do so, I will provide a background of the event,
apply facts of the case to applicable law, summarize lessons of the week as they relate to this case and
provide a plausible argument for the parties involved. In the month of October 2011, two of my

are also grounds for compensatory damages. Chapter 12 also covers punitive damages. These damages

company will undoubtedly be sued for negligence. Chapter 12 section 5 states that negligence occurs
when someone suffers injury because of another s failure to live up to a required duty of care. (Cross
Miller, 2012) The duty of care that the driver had was to obey the traffic laws. He neglected to obey
such laws which ended in an injury to the driver of the truck. There are four elements to negligence.
These elements are duty of care, breach, causation and damages. Duty of Care People are able to act
freely, as long as their acts do not infringe on the rights of others. When a situation such as this
accident occurs they neglect their duty of care. The driver of the dump truck had the duty of care to
abide by the law and failed to do so by ignoring the red light. Breach The driver breached his legal
requirement to duty of care by failing to adhere to a red light. This breach is measured under a
reasonable person standard in that any reasonable person in the same situation would have stopped at
the red light rather than ignore it. A breach is simply a violation of a tort or law. Causation Was the

Analysis Of The Cashier s Counter At New Moon Grocery

change appropriate for a ten dollar bill payment. Stasiuk said Where s the rest? I gave you a twenty

Stasiuk then swung his right arm and punched Eu on the left side of Eu s face with a closed fist.

Book Of Mormon Essay
Growing up in an all LDS member family, the Book of Mormon has been apart of my life for as long
as I can remember. Between personal study, reading it together as a family, sharing it with my friends,
and pondering its message, there is always something that brings me back to reading it over and over

themselves. And I truly believe that from discovering the scriptures, and more specifically the Book of
Mormon, it has helped me to recognize why I keep coming back to the same book. I ve noticed that I
continually feel my strongest emotions when I read the Book of Mormon. The words and stories the
book speaks about feels good in both my heart, but also in my mind. I have a sense of comfort and

Most people look for that sense and feeling of correctness in the heart, but for myself, the combination

The New York Times Article Invisible Child From The...
Within the confines of this text will be explored the New York Times article invisible child in the
shadows Dasani s Homeless life. Dasani s life will be examined through the lenses of five different
theories. The five approaches will be, Health and wealth connection theory, cognitive theory,
psychoanalytic theory, attachment theory, and relational theory. To be summed up in the end with the
conclusion.
The Health and Wealth connection distilled is our health will most commonly reflect from our amount
of wealth. The wealthy can afford the cost of quality care and the time to take care of themselves.
Within the textbook, Dimensions of Human Behavior Hutchison writes. Public health experts have
long noted the association of poor clinical outcomes, in all body systems, with low income, low
education, unsanitary housing, poor healthcare, on stable employment, and uncertain physical
environment (Hutchison, 2015). Easily demonstrated throughout American society the rather dubious
and is a somewhat perplexing phenomenon of the Health and Wealth connection theory. The gap
between the haves and have nots are ever expanding. Those who have the funding to pay for resources
will pay to get those resources. And those who do not have sufficient funds to pay for said resources
will, unfortunately, have to stand in the long lines to receive seemingly, deceptively, scarce resources.

Unconventional Warfare Argumentative Analysis
Unconventional Warfare (UW) use as a strategic option is undersold due to a lack of understanding.
The lack of understanding cause further political constraints and leads to interagency bickering.
Military leaders need to do better at articulating the merits of UW as a viable and strategic option. The
lack of understanding UW stems from two parts. First, military leaders lack the understanding and
practical application. Second, the lack of understanding leads to an inability to articulate the merits of
UW to senior leaders. Special Operation Forces (SOF) need to be well versed in all UW activities.
SOF training focuses on combat or direct support to guerrilla operations using the seven phases of
resistance. This one dimensional understanding

Bay City Fire Department Case Study
The situation that is happening with the Bay City Fire Department is very disturbing because they are
supposed to be one of the few pillars in the community for people to trust to get their job done, and I
believe they have a very important role to fulfill but they are slacking majorly. A few speculations on
why they are violating standard operational procedures because that is how the older firefighters did it
in the past. Since many of the firefighters in charge are much older than the recruits they have ways of
doing tasks differently than the new regulations that were put in place over the years. Another
speculation that could be made is that there may not be much commotion in the community and
whoever gets to the fire the quickest or to the accident the fastest will get the recognition and the
excitement of completing a task. Thirdly, the mild form of hazing that the veterans put the recruits
through contributes to why they are not progressing and why many of them are dying in fires. They
are taught by the older ones that they have to look and follow specific duties in order to become a real
firefighter. The last reason they might be having so many accidents is that the older regulations that
the captains are following and the new regulations that recruits are following are clashing literally
with the truck crashes and figuratively with ideologies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Philosophical View Of Empiricism
Today in society, many people are free to follow which ever philosophical view that they feel is right

great lengths to prove that the philosophical view of their choice was the best one. In this paper I will
be talking about two philosophical theories. The first one is called Empiricism, and it was made
famous by a philosopher named David Hume. Empiricism states that our knowledge should come
from sensory experience, impressions, and observation. The other philosophical view I will be taking

With thoughts, your mind thinks about certain feelings, but you don t experience them first hand. With
impression, you experience things such as hearing, seeing, and feeling first hand, instead of just
thinking about them. For example, an impression can be used to describe a man who is in fit of anger ,
and a man who is thinking about anger, but not actually in a fit of anger would be considered to be a
thought. A thought can also be considered as an idea. Hume describe ideas as being less vivacious than
impressions . He feels that impressions are drawn from memory or imagination, thus causing them to
be less lively and vivid. Our mind consist of many complex ideas, and according to Hume these ideas
are the things that influence our imagination. He claims that complex ideas are combined into one big
idea, thus resulting to a single idea. For example, when we think of a golden mountain, our mind use
the memories we have of the color gold, and the memories we have of a mountain, and combine the
two into a single image of a golden mountain. Another example is our idea of God. When we think of
the supremely good and intelligent nature of God, we are doing nothing more than, comparing his
goodness to the goodness of a human beings. Hume claims that we can only have knowledge of things
that we have experienced before. Since a blind man can t see, his knowledge of the colors will be very
limited. The only way

They are thoroughly designed, structured, and operated in a way that waste does not give rise to any
potentially hazardous elements to public health or surrounding environment. Therefore, the role of
landfills is to contain waste and prevent it from being touched with area where people, animals, and

Because of the relatively lower price, businesses and some companies can save a lot more money
(Marie). It has positive effects on not only environment, but also human life. Landfills can also have a
positive influence on ecosystem. On March Island in Southwestern Florida, the tropical hardwood is
maintained by virtue of the garbage. Trees, from roots to branches, are covered with shell mound. The
piles of shells made by the Calusa create perfect habitats, forming a tropical hardwood hammock

In rights ethics, everyone deserves to have individual rights and pursue their self interests. In terms of
landfill issue, it indicates that each individual is entitled to know merits and drawbacks of landfills. In
accordance with one s perspective, they can agree or disagree with the landfill establishment. In
particular, self interest is a substantially significant factor to determine each different opinion. In
Uniontown, Alabama, Georgia based Green Group Holdings sued all residents who were poor and

After a long judicial dispute, eventually, the company permanently agreed to withdraw the lawsuit.
The court concluded that before burying any potential hazards, landfills would provide the advanced

The Motorcycle Industry s External Environment
The major driving forces in the motorcycle industry s external environment includes; growth rate
changes in the industry. Two, there is change in the buyers of motor cycles and how they use it. In the
recent years motor cycles have been associated with robbery and drug trafficking. Three is the
marketing innovation. The motor cycle industry is yet to fully embrace the new internet technology.
Four, there has been numerous entry of major firms that have brought imbalanced competition in the

This means if one of them drops the price, it affects all the other competitors. Due to this high
competition, this industry may suffer low returns. Competitive rivalry also leads to slowly growing
revenue and increased production costs.
Supplier s bargaining power: Most of the motorcycle suppliers depend on a single or two makers to
purchase most of their products. This can cause great loss to a supplier if a buyer decides to switch to
another supplier. This leads o the suppliers being too susceptible to demands hence they hold little
authority.
Buyer s bargaining power: Consumers don t posses much bargaining power. This is because they only
to buy in many case a single motor cycle at a time. They have also opted to buy their motor cycles
from foreign countries, because they are not satisfied with the local products.
Three statistics about the size of the motorcycle industry such as revenue, growth rate, number of units

The recent global motor cycle industry statistics indicates that the industry was worth 84.5 billion

Football Abuse Research Paper
It was without a doubt that every American is familiar with the fanatic insanity that follows the game
of football. Moreover, for those who are unfamiliar with American culture, most would be amazed
how much football influences American society; specifically the nation s adolescence. As a matter of
fact, it has been estimated by the National Federation of State High School Association that there are
approximately 1.1 million high school players in the country (Petraglia et al 4). However, despite
football s popularity among youth, it is irresponsible for a parent to allow their son to play football
without knowing the significant abuse a child will endure on the field. In reality, Football is a cruel
barbaric sport that exploits the safety ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Either way, no sport is worth risking one s life for, so why should parents set themselves up for such
tragedy. As testimony, in the article This is your Brain on Football by Paul Solotaroff, Joan Pelly a
mother of a son who played football gives readers insight at how football took away her son
Eric(Solotaroff 1). As a matter of fact, Eric was an athletic, all A s student at his high school, who had
only suffered a couple concussions by the time he reached 17; however as the insidious effects of
multiple concussions started to catch up a year later his friends began to notice(Solotaroff 2). One
friend states, we ate lunch together and he wasn t all there, [he] said his head was hurting bad (as qtd.
in Solotaroff 2) also I met him in the hall and saw the same thing: he couldn t focus or really follow
the conversations (as qtd. in Solotaroff 2). In other words this was essentially Eric s body crying for
medical attention that he never got because he continued to play and fight through it (Solotaroff 2).
Unfortunately, it was too late and Eric seized up during a typical family dinner which resulted in his
brain to swell up so much that it crushed his brainstem and shorted out his heart and lungs (as qtd. in
Solotaroff 2). No parent should ever have to bury their own son at the age of 18, no one will ever

Georgia Settlement
The Reasons for the Settlement of Georgia By: Tirth Patel When James Oglethorpe came to Georgia,
he had an idea to make a settlement. In this settlement, he wanted to have a good defense, economy,
and charity. Out of these reasons for the settlement, only two of them succeeded. Georgia had a good
economy and a good defense. Georgia had a good economy, because of Georgia s trading industry.
Georgia s defense was great, because of it was the military buffer between Florida and South Carolina.
The one thing that didn t succeed in Georgia was charity. This did not work, because when the poor
people of England came, they couldn t pay their taxes, therefore they were locked up and never lived

The economy worked well, because of mercantilism. Mercantilism was a good thing for Georgia,
because of Savannah s port. At Savannah s port, all kinds of people would come and trade for some of
the main items in Georgia like wine, rice, indigo, silk, and tobacco. In the first passage, it said, The
first settlers brought silk and wine grapes, hoping that the climate would be amenable to the framing
of both. This states that the silk and wine grapes succeeded and helped Georgia s economy thrive. The
economy also exceeded because the native Americans would trade deerskins and other items to the
merchants. Britain also took raw goods and produced, manufactured items which they would ship
back to Georgia to use and trade. In the second passage, it said, England economically benefit through
the natural resources and raw materials that were sent by. This proves that England took the resources
from Georgia. In conclusion, only two of the reasons for the colonization of Georgia were
accomplished. Georgia succeeded in having a good defense and economy. The defense of Georgia was
strong, mainly, because it was the military buffer between Florida and South Carolina. It was also
great because it made treaties with the local native Americans and Georgia had plenty of fortifications.

Abstract
Cognitive impairment (CI) is observed in the vast majority of individuals with schizophrenia and has
long been identified as a principal contributor to functional deficits. To date, pro cognitive
pharmacologic therapies have been largely unsuccessful in addressing CI and as such, psychosocial
treatments for cognitive enhancement in schizophrenia are increasingly important. Cognitive

Survey of Cognitive Remediation Practices for Individuals with Schizophrenia: Implementation and
Barriers
Schizophrenia is a severe and chronic mental illness characterized by substantial cognitive, emotional
and perceptual deficits. The symptoms and dysfunctions of schizophrenia manifest themselves in
varying states of severity across individuals but are often associated with high rates of mortality,
substance abuse, and co morbidity with other mental disorders. In addition to earlier mortality rates
(Crump, Winkleby, Sundquist Sundquist, 2013), symptoms of schizophrenia often interfere with one s
ability to function and perform daily tasks. Cognitive impairment (CI) has specifically been identified
as a critical barrier to functional recovery for individuals and as a result, cognitive remediation (CR)
programs are increasingly employed as treatment interventions to address these issues. Empirical
support for the benefits of CR on cognition in schizophrenia is growing; however, the best

A Brief Note On Mexico s Agriculture Sector
Mexico s agriculture sector is renown in the international community for a myriad of goods that it
produces. From the cultivation of crops, sustainable soils, land usage and irrigation systems, its rich
land has helped Mexico s economy prosper into the 21st century. This feat is largely due to the
country s production and exportation of maize, one of their largest crops. However, in recent time
Mexico s agriculture sector has been affected by the vices of climate change and greenhouse emission
gases amongst other natural phenomenons. For the purpose of this paper the change of climatic
patterns in areas of temperature, precipitation and intensity will be discussed, as well as its correlation
to climate change and current weather trends, which have created unsustainable environments for
maize to grow.
Historically, Mexico s agriculture sector has followed a traditional style of crop production focused on
small scale farming. According to Luc Dendooven of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies at
the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico, traditional agriculture refer to the widely used
cultivation techniques that consist of low N fertilizer application rates, no or little irrigation, removal
of crop residue for animal feed or fuel, and little or no use of herbicides and pesticides (237). The
Mexican agricultural sector adapted this concept early on by utilizing basic natural resources such as
soil enrichment and rainfall. Such practice has been supported by author

Questions On Barre Syndrome ( Gbs )
Guillian Barre Syndrome (GBS) is an autoimmune disease that causes an acute peripheral nervous
system disorder that results in a flaccid paralysis of the skeletal muscles and loss of muscle reflexes
(Des Jardin Burton 2016). Regardless of whose articles, journals, or textbooks you read, all agree on
the definition of GBS. Dombale and Kumar (2012) states, GBS effects 1 to 4 per 100,000. Males are
effective twice as frequently than females. However, numbers are showing the gender gap becoming
more equal. All ages are affected, however, persons fifty plus years or older are more susceptible to be
affected by GBS. Prognosis for a full recovery to a healthy life is high, and mortality is low. However,
recovery time can be long, and extremely difficult road for the patient. The cause of GBS is not clear,
nonetheless it is believed to be triggered by an acute infectious process. Infections can be viral or
bacterial infections. Such as, Campylobacter jejuni, cytomegalovirus, mononucleosis, parainfluenza 2,
measles, mumps, hepatitis A and B viruses (Des Jardin and Burton 2016). The most common
symptoms reported before onset of GBS are fever, cough, sore throat, and other upper respiratory
symptoms (Walling Dickson 2013). Turan et al (2012), case study reported an 11 yr old patient
presented with walking problems, voice hoarseness, and a sore throat. This would appear as a
respiratory infection however, the walking problem resulted in the fact the patient did indeed have

What Are The Ethical Issues In Journalism
Journalism is both old and new. The profession has been around for hundreds of years, but it is always
changing and reinventing itself. With these changes, the question of what is right and what is wrong is
not always clear, but journalists still must attempt to answer those questions.
Reporters, editors and anyone else practicing journalism must be held to a high standard of ethics
across the board. Journalists owe it to the public to practice this high standard of reporting, as
journalists work to serve the public.
Listed below are several principles a journalist must keep in mind when practicing journalism in order
to be ethical.
Always tell the truth
The most basic skill required to be a good journalist is to have the capability to ... Show more content

The public that those reporters serve deserves to have a complete knowledge of a situation.
Show compassion when needed
Journalists may come across topics that are emotionally straining and difficult to cover, such as a
person s death or a natural disaster. In their coverage, journalists may choose to interview people who
are still reeling from such a tragedy. If they choose to do this, journalists must remember to be
courteous to their sources while also maintaining a professional boundary. Take the sources protection
into consideration. Make it clear that you are a reporter. Explain why their comments could be
valuable to the story.
Be independent from all
The sources do not write the story, the reporter does. If a source tries to stop a fact from going into
print or being broadcasted on the evening news, try to understand why that source would want that.
Could the fact harm their career if it is made public? Could the fact coming to light make way for
helpful reforms to a broken system? Is sharing the fact libelous? High ranking newsroom employees,
such as a desk editor or news director, should be involved in this debate and analysis of the sources
request with the reporter. News outlets have the right editorial independence.
Journalists must also be wary of sources who are trying to use them to get a story published the way
they want it. Reporters should always have some level of skepticism when

printmaker, poet, and essayist, arguably one of the most interesting of the recently re discovered
artists. Self taught as an artist, Koehler began to immerse himself in fine arts during the time of World
War II, when he served as a soldier on the Eastern Front. There he executed his first watercolours, a
technique which remained his favorite in the first period of his artistic activity, with nature, landscape
and female nude as his leading subjects. Nevertheless, with the beginning of the new decade, Koehler
began to experiment, boldly osciliating between techniques. Consequently, turning to abstraction, in
1954, the artist started to incorporate sand

There Is More Important Than Being A Reader Essay
Nothing is more important to academic achievement than being a good reader. Participation,
motivation, and interest in independent reading are low. Reading is an important part of everyday life
and is imperative to students success in school. Children today are constantly surrounded by
technology, and their reading experience can be extended by using technology.
While it may be more fascinating for us as adults, children are living in the digital age where they
think technology is a part of their everyday life. There are iPods, computers, iPads, E books, Leapfrog

Students that are experiencing frustration in reading cannot be expected by the teacher to enjoy and
practice reading as much as a student who enjoys reading. Students that have significant reading
difficulties in the lower grades continue to struggle as they proceed through the upper grades. Reading
disorders affect a student s ability to read and to learn in the different subjects. For example, good
readers tend to be more successful in subject areas such as science and math. It is imperative for
students to learn the reading skills they need to be successful in school and in life (Melekoglu, 2011).
There are two occurring types of reading disorders. The causes, as well as the treatments of these
reading disorders, are diverse. Dyslexia is when a student has difficulty decoding words and
understanding the relationship between spelling patterns and the pronunciation of words (Snowling
Hulme, 2012). Students with dyslexia read slowly and with error. Also, dyslexia can affect a student s
spelling and writing ability. Deficits in phonological coding and impairments in verbal short term
memory are also seen with dyslexia. This decoding is the basis of learning to read. The other major
impairment is in reading comprehension. Students with an impairment in reading comprehension often
can read fluently without difficulty, however are unable to understand what they have read. Reading
comprehension involves accessing meanings of words and higher order thinking. Making

The Mammoth
ATTACK OF THE MAMMOTH
A man and his family were constantly on the move, hunting for beaver. They traveled from lake to
lake, stream to stream, never staying any place long enough for it to become a home. The woman
sometimes silently wished that they would find a village and settle down somewhere with their little
baby, but her husband was restless, and so they kept moving .One evening, after setting up camp on a
large lake, the young mother went out to net some beaver, carrying her baby upon her back. When she

evening, she heard the thump thump thump of mighty footsteps coming from somewhere behind her.

expanse as quickly as possible and warned the people of the fierce mammoth that had killed her
husband. The warriors quickly went out onto the ice and made many holes around the edges of their
village, weakening the ice so that the mammoth would fall through and drown. As evening
approached, the people saw the mammoth coming toward them across the ice. When it neared their
camp on the island, the creature plunged through the weakened ice. Everyone cheered, thinking that
the animal had drowned. Then its large hairy head emerged out of the water and it shook its long tusks
and bellowed in rage. The mammoth started walking along the bottom of the lake, brushing aside the
ice with his large tusks. The people panicked. They screamed and ran in circles, and some of them
stood frozen in place, staring as the mammoth emerged from the ice and walked up onto the banks of
the island. The wife of the eaten man fled with her baby, urging as many of her new found friends as
she could reach, to flee with her. But many remained behind, paralyzed with fear.

Three Basic Steps Of Changing A Flat Tire
In American culture today, citizens in the younger generation rarely do things for themselves. Most
licenses drivers would not even know where to begin if they were to have a flat while traveling alone.
This is not because it is a very difficult task or drivers do not have the tools to do such, but simply
from laziness. Changing a flat tire is a simple fix with a little elbow grease and the basic tools that are
in every car unless someone has removed the tools. The three basic steps of changing a tire are,
relieving the pressure off the tire, removing the tire and replacing the flat with a new tire. If done

  • 2. My Grandmother s Parents On My Dad s Side Essay My great grandparents, Joe Seymour and Bonnie Hudkins are my grandfather s parents on my dad s side, and they changed the denomination in which they believe several times. As a boy, Joe grew up attending the Episcopal church, but as a young man, he converted to the Lutheran church when he married my great grandmother Bonnie who was born and raised a Lutheran. While my grandfather was young, my great grandfather sent him without telling my great grandmother to an Episcopal Boys Home to correct his misbehavior. However, my great grandmother became upset that my grandfather took him to the boys home and there were other religious differences which led them to leave the Episcopal and Lutheran church altogether and try out the Church of Christ. Once they were connected with the Church of Christ, they accepted the doctrine that they were the true church of the New Testament. My grandmother s parents on my dad s side were Robert Ross Jr. and Hazel (Helen) Mayfield. Pentecostalism believes in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues which is what Robert Ross grew up believing. However, Robert and Helen decided to divorce soon after their children were born, and Robert remarried to a woman named Mary. Mary s faith is in the Seventh Day Adventist church, so after marrying Mary; Robert converted to be a Seventh Day Adventist to adapt to Mary s beliefs about diet and health as well as life in general. My great grandmother, Helen on the other hand, is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Who Killed Claggart Most of the sailors on the ship loved Billy Budd. However, Claggart and his sidekick Squeak, did not. Although Billy did his best to either avoid them, or on those occasions in which he did come face to face with one or the other, he did his best to be kind to them. While Billy was being as absolutely courteous as possible, that did not help the flaming hatred that was burning in their hearts. As a matter of speaking, Billy was actually feeding the rage and fury that had been smoldering there even before they knew Billy even existed. When Claggart was accusing Billy in front of Caption Veere, Billy began his stuttering cycle that only occurred when he was under stress, or being questioned about something. They were in the captions cabin during ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If he struck him, he would have been agreeing to everything Claggart had said because he would be trying to get rid of the evidence . He was getting flustered and Claggart was using that against him. The best way to overcome Claggart s intentions would be to either stay silent so as not to show how flustered he was, or surmount his stuttering so as to prove a point. The last thing that Billy needed to do was even lay a finger on the open mouthed Claggart, because that would just prove his point. The last reason that Billy should have not struck Claggart is because Caption Veere was a fair man. He knew what kind of man Billy was, and he had an understanding of what Claggart his master at arms was. One was a loving, responsible, caring young man, and the other was a hating, dark, shadowy man that was not to be trusted with any mans word. When Billy struck out at Claggart, he was punishing Claggart, and striking an imperial officer. Billy then would have to be punished for his misdoings, and nothing would be done about Claggart because he was, well... ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Provider And Patient Attributes Provider and Patient Attributes We collected a set of attributes for providers and patients from the EDW. For providers, we extracted employee ID, employee role, and a physician index (a Boolean value; 1 if provider is a type of physician, 0 if not). For patients, we extracted age, encounter type (all inpatient in this data set), admission and discharge times, primary diagnosis, discharge location, length of stay, med service (department to which the patient was admitted), discharge disposition (where the patient was discharged to), and an index noting whether or not the patient had expired. Network Visualization We created two types of networks in this study. The first is a directed bipartite network and represents interactions between providers and patient records (Figure 2). The second network is undirected and depicts shared patient record access between providers (Figure 3). Visualization for both networks was performed using Gephi. [59] Further description of these networks follows. Provider patient Network EDW data indicating provider access to a patients EHR was depicted as a directed bipartite graph (see Figure 2 for a one patient example). The source node designates a provider of type physician, nurse, pharmacist, etc. The target node designates a patient with a diagnosis of heart failure who was admitted to NMH in 2012. An edge between them is an indication that the provider has accessed the patient record. The complete bipartite graph included all providers as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Compare And Contrast The Concepts Of Nationalism And... HIST 803 Week Three Reading Reflections Two thing stood out to me in this week s readings, although they are closely intertwined: the concepts of Canadian nationalism and Canadian national identity. These concepts changed greatly between the three Canadian Prime Ministers tenures, St. Laurent, Diefenbaker, and Pearson, respectively and how these concepts have continued to change up to the present day. I have noticed that the majority of this week s readings tend to overlook St. Laurent s, and his government s, contributions to these two issues for while the longstanding Liberal government essentially continued MacKenzie King s policies. However they had to do it in a rapidly Canada and a rapidly changing world. During St. Laurent s time in office the British Commonwealth declined in spectacular fashion while the United States rise, as an economic, political, and military superpower was equally spectacular. Canada itself was also changing. The Second World War had created economic prosperity for the vast majority of Canada s provinces and the premiers were keen to use their newfound economic independence from Ottawa to create their own provincial identities and depending on the Premier these identities could be vastly different and I would say that Maurice Duplessis Quebec ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With Diefenbaker s decision to cancel the Avro Arrow, the Progressive Conservatives essentially destroyed Canada s military aircraft industry in favour of purchasing American military equipment. When it comes to government policies, and how it relates to Canadian nationalism, I equate the height of Canadian nationalism with Pierre Trudeau s economic and political policies; with the creation of Petro Canada and enforcing the National Energy Program, and then a decline in nationalism with the rise of neoliberalism in the late ... • 6. What Led Italy To War In 1914 WWI was a huge time period not only in European history but the world s history because it was the first major conflict involving different countries at one time. The war sparked nations to develop their armies and society so that in preceding life they will be viewed as a hierarchy to others. In this investigation Italy will be the focusing country and why they went to war in 1915. So what were the key motives that led Italy to join WWI in 1915? Before choosing the preceding two sources, secondary and primary sources including websites, treaties, and documents were found on the question above however, none had a lot of significance to answering the question provided. Source one a book written in 1917. Within the book is the speech the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This did not work however because I quickly learned that there wasn t many articles, and or primary sources about Italy from the year 1914 or 1915. If there had been more of a selection for primary and secondary sources many historians including myself would be able to use those sources for a deeper analysis because there would be more facts to support your thesis. It is somewhat challenging for an historian to find primary sources and along with that secondary sources because I found that some may have been edited and given false information making it challenging for an historian to find very valuable information from secondary sources that haven t maybe been edited leading to false data. With that being said historians are able to make their lives much easier by finding primary sources because they are taken from the time of the event meaning that it would be very hard to know if the source had been edited meaning that it is a reliable source to use. After looking at some sources it was clear that I was presented with more facts from secondary sources and less perspectives from primary sources making the job a whole lot harder to get the perspectives from others at the time of the event. On the topic of primary sources I would like to add that primary sources ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Arkham Knight Research Paper The Knight Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn When I reached the conclusion of Batman: Arkham Knight after 12 hours of solid pacing, I literally stood behind my chair like a five year old cheering for his favorite superhero, biting my nails as I could no longer wait to see how it would all end. Not only does the finale of Batman: Arkham Knight grant the legendary Arkham series the ending it deserves, but it also introduces so many new gameplay mechanics that it manages to outdo the previous installments in the series, thus becoming the very best comic book game in existence. If I am to be completely honest here, I have to say that Batman: Arkham Knight is possibly one of the best video games I ever got to play, period. Hold my hand, honey. Now push. Come on, push!Hold my hand, honey. Now push. Come on, push! Whereas previous Arkham titles told their stories by implementing as many iconic super villains as humanly possible, that of Batman: Arkham Knight is much more focused and centered. The menacing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In these separate side missions, you will mostly be spending your time beating up thugs while chasing villains like Firefly, Two Face and Penguin, which doesn t always work in the game s favor. Most side missions end with you confronting the villain behind it all, and instead of it going down with a good old fashioned boss fight, villains are easily knocked out by performing a Takedown of sorts (e.g. Stealth Takedown, Vehicle Takedown and Dual Takedown). This is probably my biggest complaint with Batman: Arkham Knight, because I for one truly enjoyed the recurrent boss fight in previous Arkham games. In any case, almost all of these side missions are varied enough that they will keep you interested, and if not, you can always choose to chase another villain and come back to the initial mission later thanks to the simple and clear Mission ... The main advantage of Home Area Network is that you can share different type of content i.e. videos, audios etc. among different users. A computer with large storage memory can be used as server which can be easily accessed by the clients and users can easily access the data whenever they wanted to access. As in Home Area Network everything i.e. Resources, Data, Information etc. is shared so each user can use devices like Printers, Scanners which will be very cheap. Also another main advantage of Home Area Network is that there is no need to buy several different Public IP Address s for different devices, administrator of network can only have single Public IP Address and assign this public IP address to a modem or a router, while a modem or a router in turn assigns a private IP address to each device to access the internet. • 9. Descriptive Essay About Taco Madre Taco Madre is a new Mexican restaurant that opened in Niles, IL. There were several reasons why this restaurant caught my eye. The interior was designed wonderfully but the location didn t seem like a good fit, the food was tasty, the people who went were from all age groups, and the music was entertaining. This restaurant had mostly pros with one con, but, overall, this is a restaurant that everyone should try because it has a taste of Mexico with a modern style. The first time I went to Taco Madre, I noticed the location right away. This restaurant recently opened in my area, so my friends and I decided to check it out and get a bite to eat. I noticed it was located next to Papa Johns and a Wings restaurant. Because, there are other restaurants surrounding the premises, it will create competition. My first impression was to dock some points because of where it was located, but the interior area made up for it. As I stepped inside the restaurant, the first thing that caught my eye was the walls because it had the same design as the menu. It struck out because the patterns of the flowers that were imprinted on the walls showed a lot of colors, which helped brighten the room and add a sense of dimension/comfort. Not only were the colors of the walls vibrant, but so was the salsa bar because it was presented with a wide range of spices to choose from. Moreover, Taco Madre had an excellent variety of food choices. Some of the food they served were tacos, burritos, and tortas. The menu was not overbearing like the Cheesecake Factory, but it was not limited like another restaurant. The aroma of the Mexican food would make anyone salivate, the food has always tasted fresh; plus, they put extra cilantro with a lime on the side. My friends and I combined the individual tables to make a gigantic seating arrangement suitable for the six of us. I ordered a Mahi mahi, which is fried fish; there is an option of flour or corn tortilla, and for dessert I ordered flan. The flan had vanilla ice cream, cherries, and whipped cream added to the top. The question that I will be answering in my regression analysis is whether or not wins have an affect on attendance in Major League Baseball (MLB). The average payroll from 2003 2005 for a team was $70,974,000. The standard deviation of this variable is $31,463,000. The minimum payroll was $19,630,000 and the maximum was $208,310,000. There will be an obvious negative effect on attendance if there is more than one MLB team in a given state. A zero is going to represent a team that is the only team in their state and a 1 will represent a team who shares its state with one or more teams. Bay City Fire Department Case Study The situation that is happening with the Bay City Fire Department is very disturbing because they are supposed to be one of the few pillars in the community for people to trust to get their job done, and I believe they have a very important role to fulfill but they are slacking majorly. A few speculations on why they are violating standard operational procedures because that is how the older firefighters did it in the past. Since many of the firefighters in charge are much older than the recruits they have ways of doing tasks differently than the new regulations that were put in place over the years. Another speculation that could be made is that there may not be much commotion in the community and whoever gets to the fire the quickest or to the accident the fastest will get the recognition and the excitement of completing a task. Thirdly, the mild form of hazing that the veterans put the recruits through contributes to why they are not progressing and why many of them are dying in fires. They are taught by the older ones that they have to look and follow specific duties in order to become a real firefighter. The last reason they might be having so many accidents is that the older regulations that the captains are following and the new regulations that recruits are following are clashing literally with the truck crashes and figuratively with ideologies. ... With thoughts, your mind thinks about certain feelings, but you don t experience them first hand. With impression, you experience things such as hearing, seeing, and feeling first hand, instead of just thinking about them. For example, an impression can be used to describe a man who is in fit of anger , and a man who is thinking about anger, but not actually in a fit of anger would be considered to be a thought. A thought can also be considered as an idea. Hume describe ideas as being less vivacious than impressions . He feels that impressions are drawn from memory or imagination, thus causing them to be less lively and vivid. Our mind consist of many complex ideas, and according to Hume these ideas are the things that influence our imagination. He claims that complex ideas are combined into one big idea, thus resulting to a single idea. For example, when we think of a golden mountain, our mind use the memories we have of the color gold, and the memories we have of a mountain, and combine the two into a single image of a golden mountain. Another example is our idea of God. When we think of the supremely good and intelligent nature of God, we are doing nothing more than, comparing his goodness to the goodness of a human beings. From the cultivation of crops, sustainable soils, land usage and irrigation systems, its rich land has helped Mexico s economy prosper into the 21st century. This feat is largely due to the country s production and exportation of maize, one of their largest crops. However, in recent time Mexico s agriculture sector has been affected by the vices of climate change and greenhouse emission gases amongst other natural phenomenons. For the purpose of this paper the change of climatic patterns in areas of temperature, precipitation and intensity will be discussed, as well as its correlation to climate change and current weather trends, which have created unsustainable environments for maize to grow. Historically, Mexico s agriculture sector has followed a traditional style of crop production focused on small scale farming. According to Luc Dendooven of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies at the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico, traditional agriculture refer to the widely used cultivation techniques that consist of low N fertilizer application rates, no or little irrigation, removal of crop residue for animal feed or fuel, and little or no use of herbicides and pesticides (237). The public that those reporters serve deserves to have a complete knowledge of a situation. Show compassion when needed Journalists may come across topics that are emotionally straining and difficult to cover, such as a person s death or a natural disaster. In their coverage, journalists may choose to interview people who are still reeling from such a tragedy. If they choose to do this, journalists must remember to be courteous to their sources while also maintaining a professional boundary. Take the sources protection into consideration. Make it clear that you are a reporter. Explain why their comments could be valuable to the story. Be independent from all The sources do not write the story, the reporter does. If a source tries to stop a fact from going into print or being broadcasted on the evening news, try to understand why that source would want that. Could the fact harm their career if it is made public? Could the fact coming to light make way for helpful reforms to a broken system? Is sharing the fact libelous? High ranking newsroom employees, such as a desk editor or news director, should be involved in this debate and analysis of the sources request with the reporter. News outlets have the right editorial independence. Journalists must also be wary of sources who are trying to use them to get a story published the way they want it. Reporters should always have some level of skepticism when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
