Narrator: Somewhere and sometime in the world, (random people enter, mother and father enter, bump into each
other) two people fell in love with each other. Hand in hand (mother and father hold hands) they faced whatever
came their way, (mother and father exit) for they knew that with their love, nothing can stop them. It wasn’t until the
time came that they got married and bore beautiful children. Years passed and they had their third child.
Older sister1: Oh my! I’m so excited!
Father: Yeah. She’s going to be the perfect fit to our family.
Older sister2: Only a few minutes to go!
Father: I can’t wait!
(Father is waiting for the baby at one side; mother delivers the baby on the other side. Nurse calls the father, and
the father holds in his hands his daughter)
Doctor: Congratulations. It’s a girl.
Mother: Isn’t she beautiful?
Father: She surely is. What should we name her?
Mother: Karen.
Narrator: (instrumental. about growing up. A series of karens show up. From baby, child, and then teenager)
Growing up, (Karen, about 10 yrs. old enters, Random people walk through the corridors) she came to be a lovely
and bright child, like her mother. She was also a helpful friend. She would always help her friends with their
problems.
*Bell rings
Karen: Hey Bea!
Bea: (doesn’t respond, sad)
Karen: Bea? What’s the problem?
Bea: It’s just that I failed in our English quiz a while ago. It makes me feel like I’m so dumb.
Karen: don’t worry Bea; I’m sure you’ll be able to go through it. Come on, I’ll help you.
Bea: thanks so much Karen. You’re such a great friend! (*hugs)
*bell rings again
Narrator: One day, when she was already a high school student, as she was going home, she suddenly took a
wrong turn and passed by an unfamiliar road. She noticed a stall nearby and wondered what the sign on the store
said. (Props: door/divider)
Karen: Hmm… Palmistry? What could that be?
Narrator: out of curiosity, she entered the stall, and a woman wearing a weird suit appeared.
Madam Auring: Hola, Señorita! Welcome to Madam Auring’s Palmistry shop! Please, please, have a seat!
Karen: Ummm.. Ms Madam Auring, if I may ask, what do you mean by palmistry?
Madam Auring: Oh dear child! Let me show you! *Madam Auring takes Karen’s hand* Oh! Oh my gosh! According
to the lines on your hand, in the future you’ll be able to marry a rich and handsome man! Isn’t that great?!
Karen: Ummm.. I guess? Well anyway, thank you Ms Madam Auring. I gotta go.
Madam Auring: Huh?! Señorita! Wait!
*Karen leaves the stall
Karen: Phew! Well that was weird.
Narrator: Suddenly, a woman and a little girl pass by and Karen noticed that there was something wrong with the
little girl.
Little girl: asdfghjkl! *tantrums*
Woman: what’s the matter baby?! Tell mommy!
Narrator: Karen got scared of the events that happened and she just ran and ran and finally got home.
Karen: I’m home! Mom?Dad? *Mother and Father enter*
Mother: Hey Karen! How was your day?
Narrator: (Karen, telling the whole story to her mother and father, hand gestures) Karen told her mom everything
that had happened to her.
Karen: Mom, Dad, this day is just so weird! I got a little lost a while ago and I saw a little shop.
Father: What shop?
Karen: Umm… The sign on the store said that it was a palmistry shop. Mom, what’s palmistry?
Mother: Palmistry? Oh. That’s about predicting a person’s future with the use of the lines on our hands.
Karen: Oh really?! Do the predictions ever come true? The lady in the store told me that I’ll be marrying someone
rich and handsome someday! *sigh* (fantasizes)
Mother: Not all predictions come true Karen. Only God knows.
Karen: *Goes back to her mother and father* Oh! I even encountered a little girl! But she acted… weird. I couldn’t
understand what she was saying. I think something’s wrong with her…
Father: Not all people are the same. Some are just... special. Maybe she’s suffering from autism.
Jane: I wonder what I can do for that poor child. I want to help her. When I grow up, I want to learn how the mind
works. It’s just so amazing. That’s it! I want to be a…
Mother: A psychologist?
Karen: Yes! A Psychologist!
Narrator: (graduation of college, random people wearing graduation suits enter.) Years passed and Karen finally
graduated college. She finally passed the stages where she became dependent *Karen hugs her family
Principal: Let us all welcome, Karen Santos, BS Psychology, Suma cumlaude! *claps
Narrator: …confident and intellectual
Karen: Thank you everyone. All I can say is congratulations to all of us. Finally! We’ve graduated! And I hope that
we’ll live our lives to the full! =)) *the people celebrate; throw their graduation hats, Karen exits immediately
Narrator: …appreciation and caring for others. Karen now teaches at St. Paul College of Parañaque*seats ready,
