2. INT. EMI’S BEDROOM. MIDDAY
EMI is in her house pacing around her room, which is quite
messy. However, neatly arranged on the wall are her
photographs with her and her friends.
EMI:
(muttering to herself)
How? Just how? What do I say? That
is how I will say it. I’m ready.
EMI walks over to her bedroom door and opens it and walks
down stairs. Then she enters the living room where her
father is sitting watching TV.

EMI goes and sits next to her dad DAVE.
EMI:
Dad I need to talk to you.
DAVE:
What’s wrong darling? Are you
feeling OK?
EMI:
No not really. I don’t ummm know
uhh I’m not sure how to.
DAVE buts in.
DAVE:
You aren’t sick, you don’t look it.
EMI:
(chocks up)
Oh don’t worry about it then. It’s
not that important
DAVE:
What is it? Come out with it?
EMI:
I said don’t worry about it.
DAVE:
Well clearly it’s something
important because you are tearing
up.

3. CONTINUED: 2.
DAVE shuffles over to EMI and puts an arm round her and
comforts her. EMI starts twiddling her thumbs and lowers her
head
EMI:
(mumbles)
Well...ummm I-I uhhh have a
girl...friend.
DAVE:
What was that sweetie I can’t hear
you?
EMI tried to speak up a bit but more clearly and she is
clearing struggling to say what she wants. Then she picks up
a note pad and pen from the coffee table and writes down
what she is trying to say.
While she write a few tears fall down her face. she writes
" Dad I have a girlfriend and I have been with her 6 month,
I love her very much". DAVE reads what she has whiten.
DAVE:
Oh Emi sweetie.
He hugs his daughter tightly.
DAVE:
(cont’d)
Why didn’t you tell me sooner?
EMI:
(slightly crying)
I thought you wouldn’t support me.
I really wanted to say but didn’t
know how.
DAVE:
Of course I would support you. How
about we go out with your
girlfriend for a nice meal.
EMI nods her head and wipes her tears away.
EMI:
I would like that, thank you dad
for understanding.
With that decision DAVE and EMI get ready to go pick EMI’s
girlfriend up and then they leave the house smiling.
