The Samsung SecuThruTM
Lite solution focuses on ease of
access to key patient documents in a high-security frame-
work to help prevent loss or misplacement.
Authorized personnel are issued either a proximity card or
Personal Identification Number (PIN) code. The card or PIN
must be authenticated at the printer location when files are
sent for printing. Users can also authenticate through the
network using any pre-installed authentication method,
including:

The card authentication mode supports various proximity
cards, including Hughes Identification (HID), Logic, Chip/
Smart Card Interface Devices (CCID), MIFARETM

Secure Print Release feature holds documents
in memory until intended recipient retrieves
them
Typically, when a user sends a document electronically to a
shared printer, the document will print before the user arrives
to retrieve it. This delay causes an unauthorized person to
either accidently or intentionally pick up the document.
However, with the Secure Print Release feature the document
is stored on the device’s hard drive, awaiting authentication
by the authorized user, who needs to swipe a proximity card
or enter a PIN code into the printer for validation. The user
then sees the listed document or documents in the printer’s
display window and selects print. The device prints the hard
copy while the user is present, avoiding interception by un-
authorized personnel.
