Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H

At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.

Why does this university appeal to me?
One reason this university appeals to me is because of the extra curricular events
they offer such as Cambridge film festival. Students also run radio stations on the
campus which really interests me. I feel this university goes above and beyond to
give their students the best experience for example they offer students the chance
to study abroad with funding to cover the cost. Another reason why this university
appeals to me is because of the location, I really like the area Cambridge.
Anglia Ruskin University for Film & Media (P391)
3. What compromises do I have?
One compromise I will have to make is the price. Although itโs not much more
this university is more expensive than others iโve seen for example
Aberystwyth. Another compromise I will have to make going to this
university is the year one modules donโt particularly interest me. Although I
may get there and it might surprise me, reading the list I wish there was other
topics. Because of this I began to do some research into film language and
concepts to find out more which again didnโt particularly excite me.
4. Content yearly breakdown
โ Modules year one: Film language and concepts, creative moving image,
sound text image, theorising popular culture (optional courses introduction
to television studios & introduction to film making:super 8mm)
โ Modules year two: theorising spectatorship, classical hollywood cinema,
teenage kicks(youth culture and media) online journalism (optional courses
include: cinema and sound, 16mm filmmaking and television genre
โ Modules year three choose between: major project in film practice ,major
project in creative media practise, sound and vision: music and media or
multiplexed: contemporary popular cinema
5. Reflection log:
My initial thought was to look at studying media at university as this is what I
currently study for A level. I enjoy the course as a whole as thereโs a variety of
different topics to cover unlike other subjects, it can get repetitive. I searched on
the UCAS site for potential media courses and there were lots of different
courses to choose from. One University that stood out to me was Anglia Ruskin
University for Film & Media which was located in Cambridge. It stood out
because of: the location (not too far from home) and the amount of practical work
including working in their professional Film & television studios. However, the
year one modules arenโt particularly interesting which is why I looked closely at
bangor university. Bangor university also looks really good it has a similar course
to anglia university but with cheaper fees. Because itโs in wales its very unlikely I
would apply.
6. Drama & Film
Anglia Ruskin University (WP4H)
โ Entry requirement: 96 UCAS points from 2 A levels or equivalent
โ Fees: ยฃ9250 pa
Why does this university appeal to me?
This course appeals to me because I love acting and film production. The
modules really excite me, in particular the body in performance, making
performances and also the major project. I also feel this university offers
appealing opportunities such as promotion on their local networks
(Cambridge Art network & Cambridge Live) Being apart of this university
allows you to experience a professional troupe with their own
7. What compromises do I have?
One compromise I will make going this university is the year one
modules start with staging, reception and staging production. Both
these topics donโt interest me although the rest of the year does.
Another compromise I would make if I went to this university is the
fees. This university is more expensive by ยฃ250 which over the course
of years adds up to ยฃ750.
8. Content yearly breakdown
โ Modules year one: staging and reception, staging and production, performance
contexts 1A, performance contexts 1B, introduction to film and cinema,
introduction to video 1(optional courses: introduction to global cinema,
introduction to video 2)
โ Modules year two: theorising spectatorship, making performance, the body in
performance, classic hollywood cinema( optional courses: cinema and sound,
animation and design and performance)
โ Modules year three: devising performance, final major project(optional courses
include: narrative in global cinema, working in english and media, performance
and identity, contemporary texts.
9. Reflection log:
Drama is something I love so the route I could go down is studying drama and
film studies at university to gain more experience and training before going into
the industry. If I choose to go down this route the university that most appeals
to me is anglia. When I was first looking at courses, I kept seeing drama with
english and other related subjects not film studies or media so when I saw this
course I looked straight into it. Besides a couple topics im not interested about I
really like the look of this course especially because of the connections they
have and extra curricular lessons they offer.
10. Acting
โ Entry requirement: 96 UCAS points from 2 A levels or equivalent
โ Fees: no fee information has been provided on UCAS website
Why does this university appeal to me?
This course appeals to me because Studying just acting is what I would
enjoy doing the most for three years. I feel if I had three years of justacting
training at university It would set me up perfectly to go into the industry as
in year three you build a showreel and showcase. Also when going to
auditions i would be fully prepared as they teach lots of different audition
techniques. Whereas other courses I looked at focus more on the behind the
scenes.
UCEN Manchester W410
11. What compromises do I have?
One compromise I would have to make going to this university is the
distance. This is because the university is located in manchester which is far
from London. Although the area in which the university is located i a lovely
area to stay. If I were to attend this university I would stay during term time
and come back to london during holidays. Another compromise I would
have to make going to this university is on the UCAS site there is no data on
how many students go into the industry from the university whereas other
universities I looked at have the statistics.
12. Reflection log:
Another option I wanted to explore was just doing acting at university. This is
because if I do acting and no other subject it will allow me to focus all my
time on drama. I began looking at acting courses and found a course in
Manchester. The university is called UCEN. I first looked at the yearly modules
which all appealed to me. The units are relevant and will help me progress in
my acting career which is ultimately what I want. The modules would help me
progress as an actor or example showreel building and introduction to screen
acting. On the UCAS site is says 96% of students are highly satisfied with
their experience, for other universities the numbers are a lot lower with an
average of 70% satisfied.
13. Content yearly breakdown
โ Modules year one: year one, introduction to screen acting, tools of the
trade 1- the naturalistic actor, preparing for screen acting, tools of the
trade 2- character and text, context and guidance
โ Module year two: the classic text and acting, acting for radio, modern
and contemporary drama
โ Module year three: acting showcase, acting showreel, audition skills,
negotiated performance project, performance project 1, performance
project 2
Thereโs also an assessment that students do alongside practical work, This
prepares them for a research project in the final year.
14. Media and business studies
Ulster University N1W4
โ Entry requirement: BBC or BBB or equivalent in UCAS
points
โ fees : ยฃ9250 pa
Why does this university appeal to me?
This university appeals to me because it fits my grades as well as it
offering extra curricular classes. Not all universities iโve looked at offer
this. If iI went I would definitely make the most of these classes as it gives
you extra insight into certain topics which relate to the fields I want to
study.
15. What compromises do I have?
The main compromise I would make going to this university is the
distance. Northern ireland is very far from london which would mean I
would be living far from home. Ireland is very different to london,
moving so far away would definitely be a challenge. Another
compromise I would have to make is a lot of the modules donโt interest
me, for example: organisational behaviour, finance for decision making
and writing for stage and screen.
16. Reflection log:
Business studies is also a subject I would enjoy studying at university so I began
looking at courses that incorporated business and media. The first course I found
which I really liked was called university of stirling. It was located in scotland,
However after looking at the entry requirements I would not be able to attend.
This university wants all students to have a 6 or higher in english language as its
a very essay based course. I then found a university located in northern ireland
called Ulster University. The course requirements fit my grades although it is very
far from home.
17. Content yearly breakdown
โ Modules year one: principles of management, academic and career
enhancement skills, issues of performance 1: structure if
performances, issues in performance 2: the theatrical space, principles
of economics, principles of marketing
โ Modules year two: finance for decision making, organizational
behaviour, professional skills development, operations and apply
chain management, issues in performance 4:form and function, issues
with performance 3 critical theory, writing for stage and screen
โ Modules year three: entrepreneurship and innovation, global
business environment, leadership and strategy, research methods for
business issues in performance 5: documenting the live
