2. Initial thought
A cover letter is very important for an actor, when sending a showreel a
cover letter is crucial. A cover letter can be very difficult to get right, it
needs to be specific to each individual agent or casting director and brief
as agents dont have much time to look at each email. I want to make a
basic cover letter then edit it for each individual person. To make my
cover letter the best I need to research and look at examples of
successful cover letters to gain inspiration.

The first type of research I conducted was googling the perfect cover letter
for an actor. I came across a few examples of successful cover letters. One
that stood out was on the website acting blog, because it gets straight to the
point as well as including important information such as previous work,
interesting skills that make an actor stand out and they have shown
knowledge of the casting director’s previous work. I would take these tips
and apply them to my own letter. I wouldn’t change anything to this letter
other than making it relevant to my own experiences.
