SENSE ORGANS
• Sense organs help us to feel our surroundings. Human
beings have five sense organs-eyes, ears, nose, tongue and
skin.
• The eyes helps us to see and we read books, watch,
observe the beautiful nature with our eyes.
• Ears helps us to hear, we can hear voices and enjoy music
with our sense of hearing .
• We have a tongue and we can taste with help of it.
• We have taste buds on our tongue which tells us about
different tastes like sweet, sour, salty and bitter.
• The skin helps us to feel different things .
• The sense of touch helps us to tell about different objects.
• Skin has numerous nerve endings located underneath
which helps in sending messages to the brain.
Lets answer some questions
3
• Nerve endings also tells us whether the touch was
smooth, rough, hot or cold.
• There are different types of touch and we should be
aware of the good and the bad touch. The touch of a
mother is a good touch because it gives us a feeling of
safety and comfortable whereas the touch of a stranger
is a bad touch and if it is not comforting we should tell
our teacher or parents.
• We all should help differently abled people to lead a
normal life. They do not need our sympathy whereas
they need our empathy.
• Braille script was developed by Louis Braille in 1821.
• It comprise of a combination of raised dots so that one
can feel it with hands to read.
