Profile Essay
Crafting a profile essay about oneself can be a challenging endeavor, as it requires introspection,
self-awareness, and the ability to present a genuine and compelling narrative. The difficulty lies
in striking the right balance between self-reflection and objectivity, as well as maintaining a tone
that is engaging without veering into self-indulgence.
One of the primary challenges is deciding which aspects of your life to highlight and how to
portray them in a way that captivates the reader. The process involves delving into personal
experiences, accomplishments, and even setbacks, all while maintaining a coherent and
organized structure. There's a constant struggle to avoid coming across as boastful or overly
modest, seeking that delicate equilibrium that allows the reader to connect with your story on a
deeper level.
Furthermore, the challenge extends to the task of conveying your personality, values, and beliefs
effectively. Striking the right tone is crucial, and it can be a fine line between being too formal
or too casual. The pressure to be authentic and vulnerable while adhering to the conventions of
essay writing adds an additional layer of complexity.
Additionally, the revision process is demanding. It's not merely about correcting grammar and
syntax; it involves refining the narrative to ensure that each element contributes to the overall
theme and impact. This means revisiting and reevaluating personal anecdotes, rearranging
paragraphs, and fine-tuning language to achieve precision and resonance.
In the end, a well-crafted profile essay on oneself requires a blend of honesty, creativity, and
meticulous editing. It's an intricate dance between self-expression and the conventions of
effective storytelling. Despite the challenges, successfully navigating this process can lead to a
powerful and impactful essay that resonates with readers.

What Is The Evolution Of Iguana
Evolution of the iguana.
First sentence:
This first sentence makes me want to explain how iguanas adapt to their
environment thanks to their ability to change color and hide from predators and
keep a look out for how to avoid danger also how it evolved over time to be so
amazing. They actually are very fun to watch too but you know they can get mad
too. Basically i m trying to say how impressive they are from giant lizard and marine
snakes to small iguanas. Well i m just doing this on iguanas because i love how
they change colors. They can avoid being seen so good. They are pretty smart
because of how they don t move until they are ready to attack. They tongue is pretty
long and can be pretty fast when using to catch stuff like flies.

They have more abilities than ever and survive without much stuff. Their skills to
hide, camuflash, sprint, and just relax having so much confidence. Also they have
better skin and can climb pretty easy unlike their ancestors. In my opinion i think
they re much better since now they won t want to eat us. Also they don t mind if this
animal in next to them unless it s a predator. But if the animal is pretty small the
iguana will eat it. This is my last sentence and i just want to say thanks to evolution

Benefits And Benefits Of Retirement Options Essay
Introduction Companies and government entities enable employees to prepare for
future retirement by offering employees a variety of retirement options. Retirement
options are broken into two categories: defined benefit plans and defined
contributed plans. Defined benefit plans include pension plans, which allow
employees to receive guaranteed payments calculated by focusing on the number
of years of job commitment and average yearly salary. Additionally, the employer
takes on the investment risk instead of the employee. Contributions by any of the
parties are optional, however, contributions are mandatory for defined contribution
plans. Popular examples include 401(k) or 403(b) plans, which employees can
elect to include a portion of a paycheck to the plan as a contribution twice a month
(Defined Benefit Plan 2016) (Defined Contribution Plan 2016). Current Retirement
Plan Options Up through February 2011, Wal Mart Stores, Inc. used the profit
sharing plan in which the company matched 4% of employee contribution. The
CEO at the time, Michael Duke, pledged to reduce accumulated expenses and
increase net income from decreasing sales by implementing the use of the company
401(k) plan. The employees can enroll into the 401(k) plan as part of the company s
retirement package. U.S. employees are approved for 401(k) eligibility upon hire
and able to beginning contributing to the plan immediately. Puerto Rican employees
also are able to enroll in the offered 401(k) plan
St. Benedict Research Paper
What dear brothers, is more delightful than the voice of the Lord calling to us? ~
Saint Benedict. Benedict was born on March 2, 480 in Norcia, Italy. As a child,
Benedict attended primary school in his hometown. However, he then traveled to
Rome to continue his studies in literature and law. Appalled by Rome s political
issues, Benedict decided to leave the city and reside with a group of priests. In the
ministry, he preformed his first miracle. Benedict restored a broken wheat sifter to its
perfect condition. Astonished by his actions, Benedict set out to dwell in a cave
isolated from society. Consumed by desolation, Benedict s only contact with the
outside world was a fellow monk named Romanus. He bestowed Benedict with basic
necessities... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since he was a youth, Benedict tried to spread the catholic faith. St. Benedict is a
great example of patience and perseverance. Even after multiple failed attempts,
Benedict continued his pursuit in spreading God s love. God thanked him by
saving his life on two separate occasions. The first time, a group of monks tried to
kill him because they believed his method of teaching was too strict. They poisoned
the chalice of wine, but when Benedict blessed the cup, it shattered. In the second
attempt of murder the monks poisoned his bread. However, before he could eat it a
raven filched it. Despite the attempted murder, Benedict always managed a way to
battle through the difficulties. Another highly respected trait that Benedict acquired
was his ability to deny the devil. In one incident, satan tested his chastity with the
image of a beautiful woman. To prevent himself from sin, Benedict dived into a
bush of thorns. It is said that the wound on his body healed the wounds on his soul.
In a world of pagans, St. Benedict aspired to free people from satan s evil. He
traveled throughout Europe evangelizing to those who worshiped the devil. This was
a very treacherous risk, but the saint was fearless. In addition to evangelizing, St.
Benedict preformed many miracles. Benedict brought a child back to life. He found
water on an arid hilltop to feed his fellow monks. He gave a student the ability to
walk on water in order to
Similarities And Differences Of The Inca And Aztec Empires
Throughout the previous time, pre European civilizations in the Americas, the Aztec
and Inca empires were separate and distinct civilizations. The two civilizations stayed
with no question very progressed and had their own intricated but very efficient
society. Polytheism (who beliefs in multiple gods) dominated both empires. They
adored ideals broadly and fascinatingly, the Sun God maintained the high place in
mutually civilizations. However, both civilizations shared some similarities, there
were remarkable differences among the two empires. These contrasts and similarities
could be observed in many significant ways.
Religion was key component between both civilizations that I could clearly say their
firm believes in their lords. For instance, both empires needed human sacrifices to
sustain living, they both accumulated many temples in which they offered presents
and sacrifices to their lords, and they both had feasts where they expressed their
generosity to their admired lords. The Inca and Aztec Empire were quite different too
when it was about their religion. The Inca for example prayed the sun god Inti in a
representative manner with ceremonies in temples. The Aztecs thought the Sun
would only stay awake if it established the most valued thing they had, which was
human lifeblood. They scarified chiliad of people a year and presented them often. It
was very occasional for the Inca.
The Inca and Aztec empires were very similar. They were based on managing
resources and
Examples Of Dysfunctional Family In Anna Karenina
A dysfunctional family is a family in which conflict, misbehaviour, and often child
neglect or abuse on the part of individual parents occur continually and regularly,
leading other members to accommodate such actions. Dysfunctional families in
literature are something we find hard to resit for numerous reasons. One reason being
that reading about negative familydynamics is often more interesting and make a
novel harder to put down than reading about families that go on to lead perfectly
normal and happy lives. This being something that Leo Tolstoy touched upon when
he opened Anna Karenina with All happy families are like one another; each
unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. Reading these types of novels provides
us with a sense of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Gone Girl Nick makes the decision that he and his wife should move back to his
hometown of North Carthgate, Missouri when he finds out that his mother is
dying. He does this even though he has a love/hate relationship with the place.
There were happy times in the place Nick grew up, but the bad times far
outweighed the good. According to Margo (Nicks sister) he had always been the
favourite child, he was the one who was planned, he was the firstborn and not the
surprise twin who had sneaked into this world by clamping onto (Nicks) ankle, an
unwanted stranger. It is clear to see that Nick was a mama s boy, this being
something that Amy makes clear in her diary entry after the death of Nick s
mother. His mother had always mothered him. He is a mama s boy whose mama is
dead. While Nick was close with his mother his relationship with his father wasn t
the best in that it appeared to have seriously affected and damaged him. His fathers
unpredictable behaviour, anger issues and pressure of his expectations of Nick
turned him into a chronic people pleaser. While in the novel Nick is no longer a
child, his childhood, in particular his father s role in it still has the capacity to
majorly mess up his life. In adulthood Nick has a fear of becoming his father so
while Amy makes a lot of threats about what would happen if Nick ever left her, he
ultimately stays, especially
Domestic Violence Case Study

to light candles in their rooms. Be sure to use the research discussed in the textbook
that pertains to creating and placing warning signs and posters. What elements must
it have? Where should these posters be placed?
Posters are very often used mechanisms, the success of posters relies on the message
that it portrays. Negative themes such as picture that are gruesome mangled bodies
that says don t do this or this will happen are very unsuccessful. Fearfulness appeals
tend to create bitterness, and rage toward a business and the particular message. The
most successful way to portray a message through poster or warning signs includes

This does not include violence that is physical but, does make the workplace
miserable and stressful. The second level of violence is unruliness, this includes,
making threats or bullying other subordinates gets aggressive such as punching,
kicking, throwing or damaging something out of their anger, swearing in a loud
and harsh manner, showing emotional and irrational behavior when foiled, or
defacing or destroying the businesses property. These behaviors do not include
homicide or and physical assault. Unruliness may be because of an atmosphere of
violence and in some cases they become a significantly prone to be violent. There
has been research on workplace violence which tries to define the characteristics of
people who are most likely to attempt destructive acts. A telephone survey of 300
subordinates had come to a conclusion that alcohol abused was positively correlated
with attempting acts of violence. Heavy drinking had a positive correlation of
becoming a victim of violence.I O psychologists suggest a number of positive ways
that workplace violence can be deal with, which include, that managers are trained to
notice a worker who may be violent. Strenuous subordinates can be offered
counseling. The supervisors can be taught a strategy to give bad news such as
disciplinary actions or even termination. OSHA also came up with ideas to reduce
workplace violence which involve, installing a metal detector, alarm systems, extra
lighting, video camera, and bulletproof varies. Another recommendation by OSHA
includes, hiring more security guards. There was a study of 225 health care
professionals in Canada, the researchers had investigated two main types of
organizational support which include instrumental support which is directly helping

Freezing Point Depression
Introduction:
The purpose of this lab experiment is to calculate the change in the freezing point of
cyclohexanol and a solution made with cyclohexanol to find the molar mass of the
unknown solute. The colligative properties of solutions are based on the
concentration of molecules rather than the identity of the chemical. Freezing point, a
colligative property of a solution, is constant in any substance and does not rely on
the amount given. For any solution composted of two or more components, there is
one solvent and one or more solutes. The major amount is the solvent and the minor
amounts are the solutes. When solutes are dissolved in solvents, the solution s
freezing point is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be accounted for in the sample of cyclohexanol. The experiment must have
had a contaminated sample of cyclohexanol, rather than a pure sample. This accounts
for the difference in the experimental values and the actual values.
Conclusion:
By demonstrating the application of a colligative property of a solution, the change
in freezing point observed between the cyclohexanol and the solution with the
cyclohexanol as the solvent can be used to calculate the unknown solute s molar
mass. The data in the lab was graphed and shown in the cooling curve. Bases off the
data on the graph, the freezing points are shown where the temperature remains
constant. Using the freezing points, the difference of freezing point was calculated.
The molality of solution was calculated in the lab using the molar mass of the
unknown solution from the given previous data. The data in the lab showed the
molar mass of the unknown solute to be off from the given molar mass in the lab.
This can be explained through contamination. Theoretically, it was learned that by
calculating the freezing point of an unknown substance, it can be identified. The lab
showed important techniques in using a graph

Serial Murder Paraphilia
Serial murder has been present for centuries. Some records dating it back as early as
the 1800s with Jack the Ripper. Many theories have been established into the
explanation of serial murder such as trauma control model, motivational model and
lust murder (also known as extreme sadism) as Paraphilia. This essay will focus on
lust murder, with a brief commentary on both trauma control and motivational models
in regards to this theory respectively. This will be shown in terms of its historical
context, key features, strengths and limitations and how lust murderas a paraphilia can
be used to explain serial murder. This essay will also outline an introduction to
paraphilia s as well as a contemporary Australian case of Peter Dupas.

A 95yo woman by the name of Kathleen Downes was found dead in her Brunswick
lodge room in 1997 a month after Dupas killed Mersina Halvagis at a Fawkner

murders of Ms Halvagis, Margaret Maher in 1997, and Nicole Patterson in 1999 .
An inquest into the death of Ms Downes however was brought about by his
cellmate, disgraced lawyer Andrew Fraser who was arrested on drug trafficking
charges. He told the court that he had heard confessions by Mr Dupas about the
nature of his killings and revealing that he lived in Pascoe Vale; near the Brunswick

Downes. Mr Fraser also believed that Dupas was sociopathic and did not relate well
to others . In the same way as Ressler et.al motivational model, it is hard to establish
motive because he was born into a normal family. The notion of lust murder as
paraphilia can be used to explain serial murder with the integration of both trauma and

Analysis Of The Glass Of The Glass
When all the knowledge in the world fails to bring you happiness in life, where do
you turn? In the case of the Glass Siblings, the answer to this question is spiritual
enlightenment. Specifically, they are interested in Eastern religious philosophies.
References to these philosophies such as Taoism, Buddhism, and Hinduism are found
throughout the Glass novellas. The beliefs of the various members of the Glass family
are frequently revealed through the children they encounter or observe.
Throughout the Glass stories, small children are portrayed as spiritually advanced,
with much to teach adults. The novella, Zooey, begins with the youngest male of
the Glass family reading a letter that was written to him by Buddy, his elder
brother. Buddy tells Zooey of a chance encounter that he had with a little girl at the
butcher shop. In his conversation with the girl, Buddy discovers she has two
boyfriends. He asks her for their names, to which she replies, Bobby and Dorothy
(64). Her reply is what motivates Buddy to write his letter to Zooey. He reminds his
younger brother, that all legitimate religious study must lead to unlearning the
differences, the illusory differences, between boys and girls, animals and stones,
day and night, heat and cold (67 68). In Buddy s eyes, the little girl s reply
represents this ideology. She doesn t recognize that there is a difference between
Bobby and Dorothy; she just knows that they are her boyfriends. The butcher shop

When I Love To Read Literature
Sometimes all it takes to turn the person who hates to read, into the person who
loves to read. I know that this has been the case for me at least. When I was a child
I hated to read more than anything, but over time I learned to appreciate it more and
more. I believe that there are three authors, who were able to influence a young child
who hated to read, and created a young adult who doesn t mindreading and on
occasion does it for fun. Those three authors are Gary Paulsen, John Flanagan, and
Stephen Hunter. The first author to have an effect on my reading habits has to be
Gary Paulsen. Gary Paulsen was the other of many books, but the ones I remember
the best are his Hatchet series, and his book the rifle. The books main character

Genetically Modified Crops Are Too New And Untested
Another example of controversy is, some people feel that genetically modified
crops are too new and untested for use in food. The people who make this
argument are, in fact, poorly informed. Since crops have been genetically modified
for thousands of years, scientists know that altering how a plant grows is perfectly
safe. There are even nonprofit and for profit companies dedicated to testing the
safety, and running the risks of crops. If there were health risks of ingesting GMO
crops, they would have been discovered years ago. These reasonings are all un
backed and out of date. Before making a decision, it is well known that you should
do research, and unfortunately many of the people who are against GMO crops have
not done enough... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, the best way to feed starving people is not to send them more food, but
to allow their countries the ability to produce more food. With more crops being
produced, the price of food will drop, and it will obviously be less sparse.
Genetically modified crops allow third world countries to produce nearly six times
the crops per acre. In order for starving nations to recover, they require support at
the seed level, rather than the food level. However, a large industry has been built
around selling large quantities of food to starving nations, and the big food
industries don t want to lose their business with them. Of course, human life is more
important than business. There are currently people advocating the use of GMO
seeds in third world countries, and are hoping to see a large increase of use within
10 years (Vance). On the other hand, activists against genetically modified crops are
outraged by companies not being forced to label their products as containing GMOs.
The term all natural makes people think that the product comes from a perfect plant
that has never been touched by anything other than nature. However, all natural
means is that everything in the product can be traced back to plants or animals.
Which means that companies using genetically modified crops, can label their
product as all natural. Companies aware of people s misconceptions of all natural
The Value Of The Balance Sheet
The main purpose of the balance sheet is to reflect and explain the accounting
equation: Assets = Liabilities + Owner s Equity. This equation is the fundamental
model for recording and reporting transactions. It is essentially useful for showing
what the company owns, what the company owes, and what does the owner s equity
remains. The ordering of the assets and the liabilities help the user to assess the
liquidity of the company. For our purpose focusing on Walt Disney World, we are
primarily focused on their assets and liabilities. In analyzing the balance sheetof our
company, we will explain each aspects of the balance sheet in three separate parts.
To understand how the total assets changed within a year, we shall look at each
aspects of the assets. In the cash and cash equivalent, we have seen that the cash in
hand decreased in 2013 from $3,931 to $3,421 in 2014. This shall shows that the
company may have spent cash on inventories and other goods for the benefit of the
company. In the receivables aspect, the amount of receivables has begun to
increase from 2013 to 2014 with an increase rate of 11.6%. In other terms, it
increased from $6,967 in 2013 to $7,822 in 2014. This was an infinitesimal increase
and it shows that the company had a lot of companies owing them for the purchase
of the Walt Disney Products and land usage. Another way of saying is that other
companies may be purchasing land from Disney to sell their products and expand
their companies to wider
Immigration Is A Big Problem
Immigration is a big problem in the United States. This paper analysis the people
immigrate to U.S. in legal and illegal ways and the cause of it are the safe and
economic problems in their home country. The legal immigrants can have most of
the same rights as a U.S. citizens and have more opportunities. However, illegal
immigrants don t have the same right and also increase the criminal problem in the
U.S. . The cost of illegal immigrationcontrol is the serious problem for United Stated
government. The conclusion is government need to make the immigration process
easier and provide them benefit for immigrants. The increase of legal immigration
willingness can decrease the illegal immigrants number. There were over 40 million
immigrants lived in the United States in 2013 and the population of immigration
keeps increasing. For safety and economic problems people leave their home town
and move to other countries for a better life. This immigration upsurge brings the
American government a new problem because not all of the immigrants come to
other countries with a legal identity. Some of them probably can t afford the
expense to immigrate with legal identity, and some of them move to other countries
for special reasons. Immigrating to other places means people can have a better job
opportunity and even higher wages. However, illegal immigrants should not be made
legal citizens. People move to U.S. for job and better living environment. U.S. is a

Comparing American Slavery and the Holocaust
The purpose of this essay is to compare and contrast the American Slavery and the
Holocaust, in terms of which one was more malevolent than the other. Research
indicates that the competition between African American and Jews has served to
trivialize the malevolence which both has suffered (Newton, 1999). According to L.
Thomas A separate issue that contributes to the tension between blacks and Jewsrefer

History
Around 1600 (C.E), the United States began importing blacks from the continent of
Africa for slave labor; and the Constitution later adopted by the colonies declared
blacks 3/5 of a person (Martin, 1993). Laurence Thomas states that the Adolph Hitler

McNeil, 2013) It seems this is where the African American and Jewish people
contrast.
The Holocaust
Ian Kershaw empathetically states that The Holocaust was the systematic,
extermination of six million Jews by the Nazi government and their allies during
World War II. He further add that it wasn t until after Adolph Hitler became
Chancellor of the German government, he began targeting the Jews as racially
inferior to the German people (Kershaw, 1985).
Accordingly, Hitler began eradicating all nationalities that he considered second rate
to Germans. Many believe that the depopulation technique was the German viewpoint
of the Nazi government, which wanted to create a master race of Aryan people. After
January 1933, the Jews were placed in concentration camps which started the
Holocaust (Katz, 1994).
People were basically removed from their homes, barred from daily activities, and
forced to live in uncleanliness in ghettos throughout Germany and the countries that
the Nazis took over (Cureton, 2013). Further research by Cureton is that the rest
were forced into labor, while many were confined to prison for their beliefs, race,
religion, or for political purposes.
Incidentally, the Nazis developed new ways to eliminate people, including

anything until Persephone returns. Persephone is allowed back but Hades tricks her,
making her unable to leave the underworld permanently. Demeter compromises that
Persephone can be in the Underworld part of the year but that nothing will grow
while her daughter is away, forcing Persephone s return and creating the seasons.
Taking a new turn on the ancient myth, Benton sets the painting in a rural scene and
illustrates a bare Persephone lying leisurely, surrounded by greenery with Hades and
his chariot lurking behind her. The juxtaposition between the foliage, Persephone s
nude figure, and the wrinkled Hades in the background creates an imbalance between
maturation and sexuality with a blithe young woman caught in the middle. Overall,
Benton s Persephone accentuates the bliss of naivete coinciding with the
overwhelming malevolence and sexualization present in the world. Initially, Benton
s brush strokes dictate the movement of the piece, shaping the foliage around
Persephone in a nurturing and purposeful manner. I think this pulls Persephone
towards the viewer and draws more attention to her exposure and vulnerability. It
also symbolizes Demeter s protective nature and deep seeded love for her daughter.
It feels as though the movement of the plant life also creates a barrier of protection
between the aloof and defenseless Persephone and the wrinkled and perverted Hades.
I believe this determines the importance of protecting the young and naive, especially
with an abundance of attention in this world leading to desensitivity, and later
sexualization. This reminds me of a speech Emma Watson made to the United
Nations where she details how the media began to sexualize her as early as
Essay On My Vacation
Everyone has gone on some form of vacation in their lives. I have gone on many
vacations that have been very hectic, but the cruise that I went on might have been
the craziest. It all started with how we were getting to the port in South Carolina.
We couldn t fit me, my younger brother, my younger step brother, my older step
brother, my older step sister, my aunt, and my stepmom all into my stepmom s tiny
BMW, so we had to rent a big van. When we got to the car rental place, it turns out
that the company had accidentally gave the van we rented to someone else. After
my stepmom did a little bit of yelling, we got an even bigger van for less than the
other one. Next comes the 13 hour car ride. My 7 year old step brother, Max,
wouldn t sit still the whole ride and kept screaming at his I Pad every time he lost
his game. My 10 year old brother, Ryan, was sitting right next to Max screaming
with him like he was still 7. My step sister Emma and I were very annoyed and
tired, so we both took about 3 melatonin gummies and tried to fall asleep. That s
when the car ride went bad. My brothers were being loud the... Show more content on

The beach was absolutely gorgeous. The sand was as white as snow and there

around your ankles and there were dolphins out in the distance. It truly was a perfect
beach. My family and I all swam with manta rays and then Emma and i found our

day was when we were getting off the ship. One of the crew thought it would be a
good idea to jump off the ninth floor of the ship. He was a little banged up, but he

Scheduling Classes, Athletic Events, and Extra Circular Activities
We are all given 24 hours in a day and in an organized system each hour is given a
category or name. An Athletic Director has many responsibilities in managing a
department that has many activities occurring each day. These activities are physical
education classes, practice schedules and locations, meeting special needs students,
coordinating game schedules for each sport, and finding time to mentor those within
the department. Each area presents its own challenge to synergistically work with the
available facilities that are available. Therefore, to be effective in creating a physical
education program and athletic department, it is imperative that the athletic ... Show

The Potlatches of Northwestern Tribes
In the Metropolitan Museum of art there is a wide verity of objects for the
Northwest tribes. In the Northwest coast music is highly associated with
ceremonies and feasts known as the potlatches. Potlatches were held by a host to
establish or uphold his status position in society. Other times they were to signify
a significant event in his family like the birth of a child, a daughter s first menses,
or a son s marriage. Potlatches are to be successful and guests are invited to a
potlatch to share food and receive gifts or payment. The host provides everything
from food, drink, entertainment and, also his gifts to each of his guests. The value of
the gift depends on the social status of the recipient, the higher the respect for him
the more valuable the gift is. If his gift in not that valuable or wanted it would look
bad for the provider. If this happens the host must add another gift to satisfy his guest.
A potlatch can last for several days when celebrating a passing spirit that contains
feasting, singing, performing ritual dances, competitions and other events.
During these potlatches the events is traditionally marked by ceremonial dances and
also by songs. The songs get an extra effect by providing whistles, rattles, and
specific vocal utterances. Whistles are associated with the spirits. A main element
used by the Northwest coast is the beat of a drum. They are known to play individual
hand drums with one another instead of playing a one giant drum like in the Great
Migration For Immigrants
Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. During
the years 1886 and 1924 ( The Immigrant s Statue, 2016), one of the first things
immigrants entering the United States through New York saw was the Statue of
Liberty. Glancing upwards towards Lady Liberty they felt a sense of relief and
comfort that they had finally reached the land of the free. Throughout history people
have been constantly migrating from one place to the next. The reasons for migration
vary and in most cases it influences the type of relationship that exist between migrant
and host country. During the 1990s, a vast amount of Indian technology workers
migrated to Silicon Valley, California. While India suffered a major brain drain, these
An Ethnographic Study On Individuals And Groups
For my project proposal, I decided to do an ethnographic study on individuals and
groups in airports. I have noticed that when I travel, I normally choose not to hold
conversations with other people even though I am closed and confined quarters for
long periods of time. Therefore, I wanted to observe if people interact more with their
devices than with each other. Prior to my observations, I assumed that crosstalk is
limited, and that technologies result in social isolation. I believed that the airportwas a
good place to conduct my study because it is a semi public sphere that has frequent
foot traffic.
My hypothesis is that devices have decreased co location and increased co presence
is more prevalent in airport terminals. Before my research, my assumption was that
the desire to disengage from the physical location was great because of the limited
amount of ways that the airport terminal has to occupy time. I assumed that if there
are people in the public space, most will be engaged or preoccupied with their
technological device rather than engaging one another. I observed people ages 20
65, ranging from college students to retirees. I noted their reactions, their electronic
device usage, their interactions (if any), and in specific cases, their conversations. I
took the first study at 9:00 PM on Friday, March 21 at the SFO terminal. During this
day I saw single young adults, a mom with her daughters, a Cantonese family, a
father and daughter, and an old couple. I took
The Benefits Of Planned Parenthood
The issue that is to be discussed is if the government should continue to fund
Planned Parenthood. This question is a sociological issue because it can affect
millions of people because in a year Planned Parenthood can help four million
people who are mainly low income, of all religions, and race (Berg). Not only that,
but is it something that is constantly being discussed in the media and on the floor,
so it is something that we should be focusing on right now. I will say that I am a
supporter of Planned Parenthood and I am open that I am also a patient there as
well because to me Planned Parenthood is more than just what the media shows, but
even so I will stay objective to be ethical in this research(Schaefer). One of the topic I
would like to search is how Planned Parenthood is funded by the government. Most
people believe that a portion of their taxes are taken out and given to these clinics
that people can just go in and receive free healthcare. Some believe that the
government writes Planned Parenthood a check and that money comes from the
people. However, these are both incorrect and that is why I believe this is one of
the main topics to search into because this is something that can affect everyone
whether or not they go to Planned Parenthood. This also goes hand in hand with
another topic I would like to search into: how does Planned Parenthood affect
people? With this, I would like to find out why people choose to go to Planned
Parenthood, why society does not
Why We Should Care About Iran
WHY WE SHOULD CARE ABOUT IRAN
Can one country change the landscape of the entire world? Americans must be able
to understand importance of one country in the Diplomacy, Information, Military, and
Economy (DIME) methodology. This paper will go over the background of Iran,
what type of government it is, the strategic importance to the United States and the
possible future for Iran and relations with the United States.
Background
The country of Iran, previously known as Persia until 1935, began diplomatic
relations with the United States in 1883. Iran is the 18th largest country occupying
1,648,195 sq. km, almost 2.5 times the size of the state of Texas (Central Intelligence
Agency, 2013). The country has a population of approximately 81.8 million residents
with Persian the official language and the official religion being Muslim. Throughout
the twentieth century, the country witnessed the establishment of a limited
constitutional monarchy in 1906. In 1953, a coup supported by the United States and
the United Kingdom occurred against the democratically elected prime minister. The
most recent change to the country occurred in 1979, when clerical forces led by the
Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew the Shah, making the country an Islamic Republic
forcing the Shah into exile. On November 4, 1979, a group of revolutionary Iranian
students angered that the deposed Shah had entered the United States, seized the U.S.
Embassy in Tehran, and took 52 Americans hostage. As negotiations
Nuclear Contamination And The Atomic Bomb Testing
We retired early that evening, and slept well. With the pressure we had been under
now somewhat abated, we awoke the next morning rested and refreshed, ready for
whatever the day might bring. Stapleya and Wisceya were eager to see the
wonders of Las Vegas. Estelle and Jill had told them enough to pique their
curiosity, although the fur girls insisted it was impossible and we must be kidding
them. Compared to their home world, I am sure our entire planet seemed like an
impossibility, so why they would balk at one more impossible thing, I could not
say. We pulled out of the motel parking lot before dawn and drove straight down
Interstate 15 without stopping except to buy fuel or to answer nature s call.
Although we had eschewed Interstate highways in prior day s travels, we really had
no choice now. Besides, we had no reason to suspect Alex would be looking for us
here. Passing through the St. George area, Estelle remarked on the nuclear
contamination in the area from the atomic bomb testing, and the many diverse cases
of cancer in the people living here then. Our extraterrestrial visitors became curious
as to those events which led us into a long discussion of warfare on Earth and the
horrors it had brought, and the worries and politics of Nuclear power. This occupied
our conversation for many miles as we lamented the missed potential, the waste and
the suffering brought forth by the Nuclear genie. We reached the Las Vegas
metropolitan area without incident. Before leaving

Title: Bieiris de Romans and Na Maria: Who was the lover, and who was the muse?
Thesis: Although many scholars of troubadour works argue that Bieiris de Roman s
Na Maria is written as a profession of love from one woman to another, closer
examination confirms this affection to be platonic friendship in the language of the
period, possibly with sociopolitical motives.

Health Risks In Older Adults
An older adult tends to be from the age of 65+. The older adult with Down
syndrome as can everyone else may experience health difficulties. They age earlier
so may experience health difficulties earlier than a typically developing adult.
Physically it is important that the older adult maintains a healthy diet as well as
doing some form of exercise such as going walking if they still have independent
mobility. The older adult is more prone to develop osteoporosis and therefore it is
very important that they attend regular health checks with their GP. Dementia is
also a common health risk which affects the older person and if this occurs it also
effects family and friends dealing with it. Older people tend to suffer from sensory
impairment where there eyesight and hearing becomes less sufficient. Those who
can help them with this need in the community is the optician and the ENT.
Hearing loss can be due to wax build up which would require the older person to
visit their GP or ENT. Also they may not have the mobility to make their own meals
and so Meals on wheels would have to meet this need for them.... Show more content

The older person with Down syndrome has similar needs of those of the typical
developing older adult. They tend to be lonely and may require supported living.
They seem isolated from the world and may not receive regular contact with their

with Down syndrome commonly suffers from Alzheimer s which can lead to stress
on the family. Also the older adult with Down syndrome does not deal with
bereavement loss very well because of the close attachment and bond they establish
with people. Some older people with Down syndrome may continue attending the
community centre, lunch clubs, church groups or other volunteering that may get

The Role of Railroad Companies, Farmers, and Cowboys
in...
The 1880s proved to be a time of change for America. High unemployment rates and
low wages in many cities forced many to look to new opportunities in cities and
elsewhere. This included the newly expanded west. In the 1880s Kansas had three
dominating groups railroad companies, farmers, and cowboys. All three dealt with
individual triumphs and struggles when developing the West and specifically Kansas
in the later part of the 19th century. Railroads spent most of the 1880s concerned with
previous legislation, farmersworried about land allotment and surviving on the Plains.
Cowboys also worried about land allotment and surviving. The worries of the last two
created some tension between them but in the end survival of one depended on the...

1862 was an important year in the world of the Kansas railroads. First, the
Homestead Act was passed giving 160 acres of federal land to any citizen or
person intending to be one. The condition was that they had to remain on the land
for a minimum of five years. Anyone that stayed on this land for that period of time
would become a citizen automatically. The land came from the railroads in an effort
to dispose of substantial land holdings to settlers. (Evans 7) This law was
particularly important to people in all parts of the Midwest. One reason is that it
allowed unemployed northern workers a chance to start over somewhere new, with
a new job, and hopefully make a good living for themselves and their families. The
second reason wasthat many hoped that it would ultimately raise the wages of those
people who did have jobs in the northern factories. (White 142)
The Homestead Act was not the only expansion legislation passed in 1862. That year
also saw the passage of the Pacific Railroad Act which provided land for the
PacificRailroad. It doubled federal land grants to ten sections per mile within 20
miles on each side of the tracks. And it liberalized the term mineral rights by
forfeiting all iron and coal deposits on the grant lands to the railroad companies.
(Howard 170) It also offered subsidy to other efforts at building trunk line railroads.

Why Do Bronchitis Contagious
It might be hard to know whether you have a common cold or bronchitis if you are
sick only for a couple of days. However, when your cough proceeds long after other
signs have come to an end, you may have bronchitis.
People generally ask if bronchitis is contagious and should they stay home if they
have bronchitis?
Bronchitis is caused because of many reasons like bacterial infection, viral infection,
exposure to air pollution, smoking, etc. All types of bronchitis are not contagious
though. Only in some cases, bronchitis is contagious.
So, let s first comprehend about the types of bronchitis to know properly how
contagious bronchitis can be.
There are two kinds of bronchitis:

Essay on The Price of Diamonds Is too High
The Price of Diamonds Is Too High
For centuries the diamond has fascinated man for its alluring sparkle and physical
hardness. Formed about three billion years ago, the diamond may very well be the
oldest and most precious item any person can own. The internationally accepted
notion that this commodity is one of the most treasurable commodity of them all
has led to the public being prepared to pay the prices that are set by a group of
companies in an agreement known as a cartel. This essay will evaluate the diamond
market on a microeconomic level and discuss how the diamond cartel came about,
what has allowed it to operate for decades, as well as how it determines the price of

In the same light, if the price varied vastly between companies, people would be
able to purchase from the company that charges less, resulting in people losing their
appreciation of the product. A threat to the company came about in the 1950s when
diamonds were discovered in Siberia, and although these diamonds were of a
somewhat inferior quality to the ones sold the company De Beers, these cheaper
diamonds would lead to a decrease in the quantity of De Beers diamonds demanded.
Therefore, De Beers bought up almost every diamond from Siberia, meaning that it
owned the vast majority of the diamonds of the world. Price fixing and output
restriction were the next step to ensure that diamonds do not lose their value to the
world.
The general law of demand states that the higher the price of a good, the lower the
demand. However, the cartel introduced an incentive so that regardless of how high
up they decide to push the price of diamonds, there would still be a great demand
for them. They developed the marketing strategy of making diamonds synonymous
with the idea of love and romance, an idea that is strongly valued by cultures across
the globe. As a result, even to present day times, diamonds are considered the
ultimate token of love, and any of the other gems of the

Why is forecasting for any new drug so important? Why for Denosumab?
Drug forecasting is a very important and essential process for any drug for multiple
reasons: 1. Cost: The drug development is a lengthy and an expensive process. It will
aid in the predevelopment process to identify future demand and to identify if it is a

How will the customers react when Denosumab is introduced?
The customers for the drug are the patients, providers (physicians) and the
insurance companies. 1. The patients will see ease of dosing as well as improved

tiered system. But they would be more willing to pay for osteoporosis prevention and
management rather than the complications that arise from it.

historical books such as Sulalatus Salatin and Hikayat Hang Tuah, it is believed that
pantun has been around since as early as the 15th century. It is usually construed
spontaneously and presented orally, passed down from one generation to the next.

Pantun can be in the forms of couplets, quatrains or sextets. However, the most
common version is in quatrains, as illustrated above. The parallels and assonance
produce a wonderful symphony as the lines end on a pattern of a b a b. To retain the
rhyme, the lines shall only consist between 8 to 12 syllables. The subject matter of
pantun are diverse. The most common ones are on the theme of culture, advice, love,
jokes, puzzles, journeys and adventures, manners and religious matters. The language
plays with hints and the actual message; the allusions in the first two lines often

Karl Marx And Capitalism Essay
Capitalism is an economic system in which investment, production, distribution and
exchange of wealth is maintained by private individuals. German Philosopher, Karl
Marx is capitalism s most famous critic. Karl Marx was a journalist who wrote
many books and articles about capitalism. Marx viewed capitalism as eventually
leading into a socialist society. Socialismis an economic systemwith investment,
production, distribution and exchange of wealth. Marx believed that under a

Marx insist that capitalism was like paying a worker one price for doing
something and selling it to someone else for a higher price, and to him this was
exploitation. Marx believes capitalism is unstable because it causes crisis of
abundance in an economic system rather than shortages. What enraged Marx was
that we are able to produce so much. We can supply everyone on the planet with a
car, house, access to a decent school and hospitals. He mentions how capitalist
factories are so efficient, and requires less people to work. This leads to the big
unemployment word that many capitalism societies face. Marx see s this
unemployment as freedom which is interesting because not getting a paycheck and
doing nothing productive is a form of freedom in his eyes. Marx wanted to
redistribute the wealth that was consumed mostly by the rich and share it with
everyone. Marx believed in commodity fetish. Capitalism put such strong emphasis
on economic interest instead of the heart of life. For example, marriage, capitalism
puts business as a major factor in marriage. Marx argued that marriage was an
extension of business and people only stayed together for financial reasons and not
love. The bourgeois would fight with their spouse s and have miserable marriages.
The capitalism system forces everyone to put economic interests in the heart of their
lives so they don t know deep honest love and relationships. The twentieth century
feminist movement argued that

Sketch of Anne and Her Nurse by Mary Cassatt is an impressionism style artwork. It

a radical departure from tradition. They were looked down upon and rejected by

Mary Cassatt graduated high school in 1861 at the age of seventeen. Drawing was
her passion, with a failed attempted to convince her father to send her to Europe to
study art; she started her studies in art at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
Her father had hopes that once she finished her studies, she would settle down
getting married and start a family of her own. Cassatt completed her four years of
study at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1865; during that time period it
was unheard of for a young woman to become a professional artist, in this male
dominant filed (Witkoski, 2016). Cassatt was a very modern thinking woman for her
time and after her studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, she successfully
convinced her father that she needed to learn more in Europe (Stafford PTSA, 2017).
Cassatt was one of the most respected American art students in France by 1868, but
the Franco Prussian War forced her to return to the America. Being back in the
America she struggled to fine proper art supplies, models or a studio, an opportunity
to return to Europe arose by a chance meeting with the Catholic Bishop of
Pittsburgh. She traveled to in Italy in 1871, as she was commissioned to copy two of
Antonio Correggio paintings for a Cathedral in Pittsburgh (Stafford PTSA, 2017). She
spent several years traveling through Holland, Belgium and Spain, eventually making

Spring Sports Research Papers
The winter season can be a time for some athletes at Perry to focus on preparation
for the spring sports season. The springtime for athletics at Perry is shining time of
the year filled with memorable performances and a few Far East Championships.
With the weather dropping into the 30 s players are forced to enter the weight room
for their training regiments. The work that is put in during the offseason when
nobody is watching will play dividends on the field in February. With the tasks of
training on your own, one must have a clear vision of where they are at currently and
the improvements they wish to accomplish before they start their respective spring
sports. Among the athletes at Perry that chose to focus on their spring aspirations are

When looking to improve your skills for the upcoming season, there needs to be a
specific timeline of training. This timeline should include a set weight routine for
at least 3 times a week, as well as some type of skill development on the weekend.
For preparation for the season I train by myself as well as with the JMSDF men s

development. The time to start getting game ready comes a month or so before the
start of the season. The time that is spent with resistance and weight training will
give you the advantage over your competition. It is important to work out smart and
stop if you notice signs of fatigue or unusual pain. Muscle fatigue is good, however
How Did Bob Marley Shape Jamaican Culture
The songs of freedom use poetry to reaches the unconsciousness of the mind of the

The Characteristics Of Abraham Led To Blessings
The Characteristics of Abraham Led to Blessings
The book of Genesis, written by Moses, retells the story of a great man named
Abraham. The account tells of Abraham s call to action, and his willingness to obey
God. Throughout the entire tale, Abraham followed every ordinance that God told
him, and his actions lead towards blessings for him and his descendants. This
blessing would eventually affect the entire Jewish nation and led them into an era of
success. However, the prosperity of Abraham s offspring would have been delayed
if Abraham was not a compassionate, loyal, and obedient man when he was called to
the task by God.
Although Abraham did experience many extraordinary events, he first started with a
normal, family oriented life. His family consisted of his father, who was called Terah,
and his two brothers, Nahor and Haran. However, Haran died and left behind two
children (Lot and Milkah). After some time, the Terah, Abraham, Sarah
, and Lot
started out from Ur so that they could settle in the land of Harran. This is where
Abraham received his calling from God and left Harran with his wife and nephew
(The New International Version, Genesis 11:26 :32).
One of the qualities that lead to Abraham s reward was his compassion. Abraham
demonstrated this attribute after he received his call from God. One person that he
showed much kindness to was Lot, his nephew. Since Abraham s brother had passed,
his niece was wedded to his brother Nahor, which allowed for her to receive
F 2014 McDonalds 2
McDonald s Faces Millennial Challenge by: Julie Jargon
Aug 25, 2014
TOPICS: Change; Competitive Positioning
SUMMARY: McDonald s is losing its luster with younger consumers. Customers in
their 20s and 30s are defecting to competitors, in particular so called fast casual
restaurants like Chipotle Mexican Grill and gourmet burger chain Five Guys.
Younger diners are seeking out fresher, healthier food and chains that offer
customizable menu options for little more than the price of a combo meal.
TERM PAPER APPLICATION: In analyzing the predicament, it is vital to cite facts
and numbers, not just subjective impressions. To start with, Consumer Reports
magazine said that in a survey of more than 32,000 subscribers, readers rated

I do have nostalgic memories of McDonald s, but Chipotle has much better quality
food, or at least it feels like they do, said Mr. Petersen, who recently graduated from
Duke University.
McDonald s says new items like its McWrap sandwiches chicken and vegetables
rolled in tortillas are helping to woo millennials, consumers in their midteens to mid
30s. The Oak Brook, Ill. based company also is trying to enhance its credibility with
young customers by marketing more on digital channels and testing mobile ordering
and payment.
The millennial generation has a wider range of choices than any generation before
them, McDonald s Global Chief Brand Officer Steve Easterbrook said in an
interview. They re promiscuous in their brand loyalty. It makes it harder work for all
of us to earn the loyalty of the millennial generation.
McDonald s U.S. sales struggles have also been compounded recently by other woes
challenging Mr. Thompson, a 24 year company veteran who became CEO in July
2012 after a decade of strong growth.
In China, a former bright spot, sales have fallen after authorities last month accused
a key supplier of selling expired meat. McDonald s said the problem drove sales at
existing locations in its Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa region down by 7.3% in
July.
In Russia, amid heightened tension between the West and Moscow over the conflict
in Ukraine, authorities last week closed some McDonald s restaurants in Moscow for

What Is The Difference Between Daniel And Malthace
1. a. At a young age, Daniel witnessed his father and uncle be crucified. He made a
vow to seek vengeance for his father s death and to fight the Romans that killed
him. He was bound to Amalek as a blacksmith. He ran away to the caves and was
rescued by Rosh. His sister was possessed by demons. Because his grandmother died
he had to start taking care of Leah. He started working in Simons shop as a
blacksmith in the village. He made a pact with Joel and Malthace to fight for Gods
victory. He witnessed a boy s arm be miraculously healed. He formed a band of 16
boys to fight the Romans. Leah began to get better and help with housework. He
had to carry a Romans pack for a mile. Joel was captured, and Daniels band helped to
rescue him.
Maths Tutoring Math Research Paper
I write my personal philosophy from the perspective of a maths tutor, as I am yet to
engage as a maths teacher. Ideally, I would love to impart on my students the same
love of mathematics as I have. However, the world is rarely an ideal place.
My ethos in tutoring maths is to remove any fear the student may have in regard to
mathematics and then encourage the student to develop confidence in his or her own
mathematical abilities. This initial object without question is often extremely
challenging. However, watching as a student grows in confidence is one of the most
rewarding aspects of being a maths tutor. Furthermore, the development of
mathematical confidence is catalyst for both better understanding and achievements
in the subject.
My focus with senior mathematics is giving the students strong foundations on which
they can build, in everyday life or further studies. Undoubtedly, relaxed and confident
students are more receptive to the, often challenging, content of senior mathematics.
Students are strongly encouraged to be curious and ask as many questions as they
need to gain understanding. In addition, they need to develop a good work ethics and
positive approach to their studies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the current Queensland syllabus, mathematics is a fundamental part of students
general education and a subject, which is an essential part of developing sound
knowledge. Mathematics is recognised as a subject, which supports many facets of
general education and daily life in an increasingly mathematical society. All of these
aspects need to be reflected in future oriented teaching and learning, in addition to the
inclusion of technology in the
The Crucible And On The Waterfront
Making amends for past sins is challenging yet ultimately rewarding
Discuss with reference to the Crucible and On the Waterfront.
The two texts, On the Waterfront directed by Elia Kazan, and The Crucible written
by Arthur Miller, both exhibit a protagonist that is plagued by their sins and
desperately seeks redemption. Through Terry Malloy s life on the Hoboken
waterfront of 1950 s America, and John Proctor s in the Puritan society of 1962
Salem, it is clear that the act of expiating our wrongs is demanding and difficult but
finally satisfying. Both texts show similarities but also differences in how the
characters have sinned and betrayed their conscience and loved ones. The taxing
journey of redemption is full of obstacles in which each texts protagonist deals with in
their own unique but alike manner. Despite these unavoidable hardships, both Proctor
and Malloy ultimately receive their desired redemption and gratifying outcomes.
Thus, both texts show how life s uncertainties, confusions and wrongdoings should be
dealt with humanity and a clear conscience instead of fulfilling individual needs.
Both texts depict an antihero who committed an irreversible sin, sinking them into
despair, and leaving them craving for salvation. In the opening scenes of On the
Waterfront, Kazan s use of a close up shot of Terry Malloy s face is a manifestation of
how Terry is being harried by the guilt of Joey Doyle s death. He thought the mob
was just gonna lean on him a bit , instead,
My Favorite Day At School
I am walking on the sidewalk, as far away as I can from the gas station for now. I
run into a library. At least I get to rest a bit, while enjoying the cool air inside the
building. I find a place to myself, a nice arm chair on the second floor of the
building. It s kind of weird that this library is so lovely, for such a run down town.
But I m not complaining, I love libraries and I love to read. That s another thing I
appreciated most in my times in the place I call Hell. I was never allowed to own
my own books; Ms. Annette didn t like the fact that girls can be smart or like to
learn like boys. Come on! It s the 21st century, everything is different from the time
that ancient hag was my age.
At school, I was always favored by the English teacher. No, this wasn t because I
was a brown nose it s just because I always did my work, participated in class, and
never complained about the assignments. I enjoyed it; math was a different story.
My one English teacher I had in my 8th grade year, Mrs. O Neil was my favorite
teacher ever. She was always so kind to me, even though no one else was. They
thought I didn t belong, maybe just like my parents. She always picked out books
for me she thought I would enjoy, which isn t hard to find. Her long, straight
strawberry blonde hair left me jealous. I thought she was beautiful, what I yearned
to be. My short, curly dark hair was the exact opposite. Even though I was jealous
of her, she was my idol. My fondest memory of her was when it was right before
Christmas break. I always dreaded break times because that meant more time at
whatever home I was staying at, for the time, and they weren t always good.
Especially this year. She had set aside 4 books on her desk, the last day before break.
The bell rang and all of the students started shuffling out of their seats, to get out of
there as soon as possible. Mrs. O Neil calls me to her desk.
These books are for you, Effy. Take them, and you can keep them, they re yours
I was in shock, no one had ever given me something as meaningful as this before. I
started crying. Thank you so much You re very welcome. She says, But don t cry.
She hugs me. This is one of the best moments of my life.

no larger understanding of a neglected culture, the rage of the streets or anything else

and performance is purposely blurred. These are political sermons clearly intended to
endorse the sentiments being expressed Time Warnerstates, We stand for creative
freedom. We believe that the worth of what an artist or journalist has to say does
not depend on pre approval from a government official or a corporate censor. Of
course Ice T has the right to say whatever he wants. But that doesn t require any

responsibility for the messages it chooses to promote. Judgment is not censorship.
Many an anguished cry goes unrecorded. This one was recorded, and promoted,
because a successful artist under contract wanted to record it. There is nothing
wrong with making money, but a company cannot take the money and run from the

The Process Of Conducting Research
Procedure
The process of conducting research is to gather information that relates to your I
search question. The I search question that I am seeking answers to happens to be;
what is the definition of family in today s society? There are many methods of
investigation that can be used to answer this question, but I have limited it to eight
methods. The eight methods I have chosen are going to give me in depth information
about my purposed I search question.
The first method of investigation for my I search project that would best help me
gather information for my project is interviewing both in person and by email. The
interview process is beneficial to my project because it gives me in depth and
comprehensive information. The interviews will consist of ordinary people in
todays, society both younger and older the young will be aged from four to thirty
and old will consist of anyone over thirty. I am doing the interviews to gain answers
to my secondary questions which are based on gender and age. Also interviews
provide personal experiences and better understanding of the subject matter in this
case family.
The second method of investigation will be scholarly journals. I am using journals
because family is a big topic to be covered and it has been discussed and written
about over many years. Many psychologists have written about what defines a family
and how it has changed over time. These Journals will help me show that the
definition is outdated and how it should be

  • 1. Profile Essay Crafting a profile essay about oneself can be a challenging endeavor, as it requires introspection, self-awareness, and the ability to present a genuine and compelling narrative. The difficulty lies in striking the right balance between self-reflection and objectivity, as well as maintaining a tone that is engaging without veering into self-indulgence. One of the primary challenges is deciding which aspects of your life to highlight and how to portray them in a way that captivates the reader. The process involves delving into personal experiences, accomplishments, and even setbacks, all while maintaining a coherent and organized structure. There's a constant struggle to avoid coming across as boastful or overly modest, seeking that delicate equilibrium that allows the reader to connect with your story on a deeper level. Furthermore, the challenge extends to the task of conveying your personality, values, and beliefs effectively. Striking the right tone is crucial, and it can be a fine line between being too formal or too casual. The pressure to be authentic and vulnerable while adhering to the conventions of essay writing adds an additional layer of complexity. Additionally, the revision process is demanding. It's not merely about correcting grammar and syntax; it involves refining the narrative to ensure that each element contributes to the overall theme and impact. This means revisiting and reevaluating personal anecdotes, rearranging paragraphs, and fine-tuning language to achieve precision and resonance. In the end, a well-crafted profile essay on oneself requires a blend of honesty, creativity, and meticulous editing. It's an intricate dance between self-expression and the conventions of effective storytelling. Despite the challenges, successfully navigating this process can lead to a powerful and impactful essay that resonates with readers. They actually are very fun to watch too but you know they can get mad too. Basically i m trying to say how impressive they are from giant lizard and marine snakes to small iguanas. Well i m just doing this on iguanas because i love how they change colors. They can avoid being seen so good. They are pretty smart because of how they don t move until they are ready to attack. • 3. Benefits And Benefits Of Retirement Options Essay Introduction Companies and government entities enable employees to prepare for future retirement by offering employees a variety of retirement options. Retirement options are broken into two categories: defined benefit plans and defined contributed plans. Defined benefit plans include pension plans, which allow employees to receive guaranteed payments calculated by focusing on the number of years of job commitment and average yearly salary. Additionally, the employer takes on the investment risk instead of the employee. Contributions by any of the parties are optional, however, contributions are mandatory for defined contribution plans. Popular examples include 401(k) or 403(b) plans, which employees can elect to include a portion of a paycheck to the plan as a contribution twice a month (Defined Benefit Plan 2016) (Defined Contribution Plan 2016). Current Retirement Plan Options Up through February 2011, Wal Mart Stores, Inc. used the profit sharing plan in which the company matched 4% of employee contribution. The CEO at the time, Michael Duke, pledged to reduce accumulated expenses and increase net income from decreasing sales by implementing the use of the company 401(k) plan. The employees can enroll into the 401(k) plan as part of the company s retirement package. U.S. employees are approved for 401(k) eligibility upon hire and able to beginning contributing to the plan immediately. Puerto Rican employees also are able to enroll in the offered 401(k) plan
  • 4. St. Benedict Research Paper What dear brothers, is more delightful than the voice of the Lord calling to us? ~ Saint Benedict. Benedict was born on March 2, 480 in Norcia, Italy. As a child, Benedict attended primary school in his hometown. However, he then traveled to Rome to continue his studies in literature and law. Appalled by Rome s political issues, Benedict decided to leave the city and reside with a group of priests. In the ministry, he preformed his first miracle. Benedict restored a broken wheat sifter to its perfect condition. Astonished by his actions, Benedict set out to dwell in a cave isolated from society. Since he was a youth, Benedict tried to spread the catholic faith. St. Benedict is a great example of patience and perseverance. Even after multiple failed attempts, Benedict continued his pursuit in spreading God s love. God thanked him by saving his life on two separate occasions. The first time, a group of monks tried to kill him because they believed his method of teaching was too strict. They poisoned the chalice of wine, but when Benedict blessed the cup, it shattered. In the second attempt of murder the monks poisoned his bread. However, before he could eat it a raven filched it. Despite the attempted murder, Benedict always managed a way to battle through the difficulties. Another highly respected trait that Benedict acquired was his ability to deny the devil. In one incident, satan tested his chastity with the image of a beautiful woman. To prevent himself from sin, Benedict dived into a bush of thorns. It is said that the wound on his body healed the wounds on his soul. In a world of pagans, St. Benedict aspired to free people from satan s evil. He traveled throughout Europe evangelizing to those who worshiped the devil. This was a very treacherous risk, but the saint was fearless. In addition to evangelizing, St. Benedict preformed many miracles. Benedict brought a child back to life. He found water on an arid hilltop to feed his fellow monks. He gave a student the ability to walk on water in order to
  • 5. Similarities And Differences Of The Inca And Aztec Empires Throughout the previous time, pre European civilizations in the Americas, the Aztec and Inca empires were separate and distinct civilizations. The two civilizations stayed with no question very progressed and had their own intricated but very efficient society. Polytheism (who beliefs in multiple gods) dominated both empires. They adored ideals broadly and fascinatingly, the Sun God maintained the high place in mutually civilizations. However, both civilizations shared some similarities, there were remarkable differences among the two empires. These contrasts and similarities could be observed in many significant ways. Religion was key component between both civilizations that I could clearly say their firm believes in their lords. For instance, both empires needed human sacrifices to sustain living, they both accumulated many temples in which they offered presents and sacrifices to their lords, and they both had feasts where they expressed their generosity to their admired lords. The Inca and Aztec Empire were quite different too when it was about their religion. The Inca for example prayed the sun god Inti in a representative manner with ceremonies in temples. The Aztecs thought the Sun would only stay awake if it established the most valued thing they had, which was human lifeblood. They scarified chiliad of people a year and presented them often. It was very occasional for the Inca. The Inca and Aztec empires were very similar. They were based on managing resources and
  • 6. Examples Of Dysfunctional Family In Anna Karenina A dysfunctional family is a family in which conflict, misbehaviour, and often child neglect or abuse on the part of individual parents occur continually and regularly, leading other members to accommodate such actions. Dysfunctional families in literature are something we find hard to resit for numerous reasons. One reason being that reading about negative familydynamics is often more interesting and make a novel harder to put down than reading about families that go on to lead perfectly normal and happy lives. This being something that Leo Tolstoy touched upon when he opened Anna Karenina with All happy families are like one another; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. Lab Report Of Freezing Point Of Cyclohexanol Jacob Winter Chem 101 103 11/7/16 Freezing Point Depression Introduction: The purpose of this lab experiment is to calculate the change in the freezing point of cyclohexanol and a solution made with cyclohexanol to find the molar mass of the unknown solute. The colligative properties of solutions are based on the concentration of molecules rather than the identity of the chemical. Freezing point, a colligative property of a solution, is constant in any substance and does not rely on the amount given. For any solution composted of two or more components, there is one solvent and one or more solutes. The major amount is the solvent and the minor amounts are the solutes. When solutes are dissolved in solvents, the solution s freezing point is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can be accounted for in the sample of cyclohexanol. The experiment must have had a contaminated sample of cyclohexanol, rather than a pure sample. This accounts for the difference in the experimental values and the actual values. Conclusion: By demonstrating the application of a colligative property of a solution, the change in freezing point observed between the cyclohexanol and the solution with the cyclohexanol as the solvent can be used to calculate the unknown solute s molar mass. The data in the lab was graphed and shown in the cooling curve. Bases off the data on the graph, the freezing points are shown where the temperature remains constant. Using the freezing points, the difference of freezing point was calculated. The molality of solution was calculated in the lab using the molar mass of the unknown solution from the given previous data. The data in the lab showed the molar mass of the unknown solute to be off from the given molar mass in the lab. This can be explained through contamination. Theoretically, it was learned that by calculating the freezing point of an unknown substance, it can be identified. The lab showed important techniques in using a graph

This, I feel, is a more effective way to connect to audiences because it not only shows moral values are subjective, and thus able to change, but also that both sides will always believe their motivations are the ones of goodness, so the fighting will continue unless both sides repent and yield to coexistence. Where Clary s determination inspires readers to be belligerent in combating negative forces to overcome and enact change, Karou s relentless optimism inspires readers to find better ways of ending conflict than

He told the court that he had heard confessions by Mr Dupas about the nature of his killings and revealing that he lived in Pascoe Vale; near the Brunswick lodge. In the case of the Glass Siblings, the answer to this question is spiritual enlightenment. Specifically, they are interested in Eastern religious philosophies. References to these philosophies such as Taoism, Buddhism, and Hinduism are found throughout the Glass novellas. The beliefs of the various members of the Glass family are frequently revealed through the children they encounter or observe. Throughout the Glass stories, small children are portrayed as spiritually advanced, with much to teach adults. The novella, Zooey, begins with the youngest male of the Glass family reading a letter that was written to him by Buddy, his elder brother. Buddy tells Zooey of a chance encounter that he had with a little girl at the butcher shop. In his conversation with the girl, Buddy discovers she has two boyfriends. He asks her for their names, to which she replies, Bobby and Dorothy (64). Her reply is what motivates Buddy to write his letter to Zooey. He reminds his younger brother, that all legitimate religious study must lead to unlearning the differences, the illusory differences, between boys and girls, animals and stones, day and night, heat and cold (67 68). In Buddy s eyes, the little girl s reply represents this ideology. She doesn t recognize that there is a difference between Bobby and Dorothy; she just knows that they are her boyfriends. The people who make this argument are, in fact, poorly informed. Since crops have been genetically modified for thousands of years, scientists know that altering how a plant grows is perfectly safe. There are even nonprofit and for profit companies dedicated to testing the safety, and running the risks of crops. If there were health risks of ingesting GMO crops, they would have been discovered years ago. These reasonings are all un backed and out of date. Therefore, the best way to feed starving people is not to send them more food, but to allow their countries the ability to produce more food. With more crops being produced, the price of food will drop, and it will obviously be less sparse. Genetically modified crops allow third world countries to produce nearly six times the crops per acre. In order for starving nations to recover, they require support at the seed level, rather than the food level. However, a large industry has been built around selling large quantities of food to starving nations, and the big food industries don t want to lose their business with them. Of course, human life is more important than business. There are currently people advocating the use of GMO seeds in third world countries, and are hoping to see a large increase of use within 10 years (Vance). On the other hand, activists against genetically modified crops are outraged by companies not being forced to label their products as containing GMOs. The term all natural makes people think that the product comes from a perfect plant that has never been touched by anything other than nature. However, all natural means is that everything in the product can be traced back to plants or animals. Which means that companies using genetically modified crops, can label their product as all natural. Companies aware of people s misconceptions of all natural

This equation is the fundamental model for recording and reporting transactions. It is essentially useful for showing what the company owns, what the company owes, and what does the owner s equity remains. The ordering of the assets and the liabilities help the user to assess the liquidity of the company. For our purpose focusing on Walt Disney World, we are primarily focused on their assets and liabilities. In analyzing the balance sheetof our company, we will explain each aspects of the balance sheet in three separate parts. To understand how the total assets changed within a year, we shall look at each aspects of the assets. In the cash and cash equivalent, we have seen that the cash in hand decreased in 2013 from $3,931 to $3,421 in 2014. This shall shows that the company may have spent cash on inventories and other goods for the benefit of the company. In the receivables aspect, the amount of receivables has begun to increase from 2013 to 2014 with an increase rate of 11.6%. In other terms, it increased from $6,967 in 2013 to $7,822 in 2014. This was an infinitesimal increase and it shows that the company had a lot of companies owing them for the purchase of the Walt Disney Products and land usage. Another way of saying is that other companies may be purchasing land from Disney to sell their products and expand their companies to wider

However, illegal immigrants don t have the same right and also increase the criminal problem in the U.S. . The cost of illegal immigrationcontrol is the serious problem for United Stated government. The conclusion is government need to make the immigration process easier and provide them benefit for immigrants. The increase of legal immigration willingness can decrease the illegal immigrants number. There were over 40 million immigrants lived in the United States in 2013 and the population of immigration keeps increasing. For safety and economic problems people leave their home town and move to other countries for a better life. This immigration upsurge brings the American government a new problem because not all of the immigrants come to other countries with a legal identity. Some of them probably can t afford the expense to immigrate with legal identity, and some of them move to other countries for special reasons. • 19. Innocence And Maturation In Thomas Hart Benton s Persephone Innocence and maturation are two key aspects of the human experience. The innocent mind allows you to live with less doubt and worry but it leaves you vulnerable to manipulation and people taking advantage of you. Thomas Hart Benton s Persephone portrays the myth of Persephone and Hades. The Rape of Persephone goes as so; Zeusgives Persephone to Hadesto have as his wife. Persephone is out and about and Hades takes her to the Underworld. A heartbroken Demeter, goddess of harvest and agriculture, Persephone s mom, refuses to grow anything until Persephone returns. Persephone is allowed back but Hades tricks her, making her unable to leave the underworld permanently. Demeter compromises that Persephone can be in the Underworld part of the year but that nothing will grow while her daughter is away, forcing Persephone s return and creating the seasons. Taking a new turn on the ancient myth, Benton sets the painting in a rural scene and illustrates a bare Persephone lying leisurely, surrounded by greenery with Hades and his chariot lurking behind her. The juxtaposition between the foliage, Persephone s nude figure, and the wrinkled Hades in the background creates an imbalance between maturation and sexuality with a blithe young woman caught in the middle. Overall, Benton s Persephone accentuates the bliss of naivete coinciding with the overwhelming malevolence and sexualization present in the world. Initially, Benton s brush strokes dictate the movement of the piece, shaping the foliage around Persephone in a nurturing and purposeful manner. I think this pulls Persephone towards the viewer and draws more attention to her exposure and vulnerability. It also symbolizes Demeter s protective nature and deep seeded love for her daughter. It feels as though the movement of the plant life also creates a barrier of protection between the aloof and defenseless Persephone and the wrinkled and perverted Hades. I believe this determines the importance of protecting the young and naive, especially with an abundance of attention in this world leading to desensitivity, and later sexualization. This reminds me of a speech Emma Watson made to the United Nations where she details how the media began to sexualize her as early as

I have gone on many vacations that have been very hectic, but the cruise that I went on might have been the craziest. It all started with how we were getting to the port in South Carolina. We couldn t fit me, my younger brother, my younger step brother, my older step brother, my older step sister, my aunt, and my stepmom all into my stepmom s tiny BMW, so we had to rent a big van. When we got to the car rental place, it turns out that the company had accidentally gave the van we rented to someone else. After my stepmom did a little bit of yelling, we got an even bigger van for less than the other one. Next comes the 13 hour car ride. My 7 year old step brother, Max, wouldn t sit still the whole ride and kept screaming at his I Pad every time he lost his game. My 10 year old brother, Ryan, was sitting right next to Max screaming with him like he was still 7. In the Northwest coast music is highly associated with ceremonies and feasts known as the potlatches. Potlatches were held by a host to establish or uphold his status position in society. Other times they were to signify a significant event in his family like the birth of a child, a daughter s first menses, or a son s marriage. Potlatches are to be successful and guests are invited to a potlatch to share food and receive gifts or payment. The host provides everything from food, drink, entertainment and, also his gifts to each of his guests. The value of the gift depends on the social status of the recipient, the higher the respect for him the more valuable the gift is. If his gift in not that valuable or wanted it would look bad for the provider. If this happens the host must add another gift to satisfy his guest. A potlatch can last for several days when celebrating a passing spirit that contains feasting, singing, performing ritual dances, competitions and other events. During these potlatches the events is traditionally marked by ceremonial dances and also by songs. The songs get an extra effect by providing whistles, rattles, and specific vocal utterances. I have noticed that when I travel, I normally choose not to hold conversations with other people even though I am closed and confined quarters for long periods of time. Therefore, I wanted to observe if people interact more with their devices than with each other. Prior to my observations, I assumed that crosstalk is limited, and that technologies result in social isolation. I believed that the airportwas a good place to conduct my study because it is a semi public sphere that has frequent foot traffic. My hypothesis is that devices have decreased co location and increased co presence is more prevalent in airport terminals. Before my research, my assumption was that the desire to disengage from the physical location was great because of the limited amount of ways that the airport terminal has to occupy time. I assumed that if there are people in the public space, most will be engaged or preoccupied with their technological device rather than engaging one another. I observed people ages 20 65, ranging from college students to retirees. I noted their reactions, their electronic device usage, their interactions (if any), and in specific cases, their conversations. I took the first study at 9:00 PM on Friday, March 21 at the SFO terminal. During this day I saw single young adults, a mom with her daughters, a Cantonese family, a father and daughter, and an old couple. I took

One of the topic I would like to search is how Planned Parenthood is funded by the government. Most people believe that a portion of their taxes are taken out and given to these clinics that people can just go in and receive free healthcare. Some believe that the government writes Planned Parenthood a check and that money comes from the people. First, the Homestead Act was passed giving 160 acres of federal land to any citizen or person intending to be one. The condition was that they had to remain on the land for a minimum of five years. Anyone that stayed on this land for that period of time would become a citizen automatically. The land came from the railroads in an effort to dispose of substantial land holdings to settlers. (Evans 7) This law was particularly important to people in all parts of the Midwest. One reason is that it allowed unemployed northern workers a chance to start over somewhere new, with a new job, and hopefully make a good living for themselves and their families. The second reason wasthat many hoped that it would ultimately raise the wages of those people who did have jobs in the northern factories. And it liberalized the term mineral rights by forfeiting all iron and coal deposits on the grant lands to the railroad companies. We can supply everyone on the planet with a car, house, access to a decent school and hospitals. He mentions how capitalist factories are so efficient, and requires less people to work. This leads to the big unemployment word that many capitalism societies face. When looking to improve your skills for the upcoming season, there needs to be a specific timeline of training. This timeline should include a set weight routine for at least 3 times a week, as well as some type of skill development on the weekend. • 42. The Characteristics Of Abraham Led To Blessings The Characteristics of Abraham Led to Blessings The book of Genesis, written by Moses, retells the story of a great man named Abraham. The account tells of Abraham s call to action, and his willingness to obey God. Throughout the entire tale, Abraham followed every ordinance that God told him, and his actions lead towards blessings for him and his descendants. This blessing would eventually affect the entire Jewish nation and led them into an era of success. However, the prosperity of Abraham s offspring would have been delayed if Abraham was not a compassionate, loyal, and obedient man when he was called to the task by God. Although Abraham did experience many extraordinary events, he first started with a normal, family oriented life. His family consisted of his father, who was called Terah, and his two brothers, Nahor and Haran. However, Haran died and left behind two children (Lot and Milkah). After some time, the Terah, Abraham, Sarah , and Lot started out from Ur so that they could settle in the land of Harran. This is where Abraham received his calling from God and left Harran with his wife and nephew (The New International Version, Genesis 11:26 :32). One of the qualities that lead to Abraham s reward was his compassion. Abraham demonstrated this attribute after he received his call from God. One person that he showed much kindness to was Lot, his nephew. Since Abraham s brother had passed, his niece was wedded to his brother Nahor, which allowed for her to receive

  • 45. Maths Tutoring Math Research Paper I write my personal philosophy from the perspective of a maths tutor, as I am yet to engage as a maths teacher. Ideally, I would love to impart on my students the same love of mathematics as I have. However, the world is rarely an ideal place. My ethos in tutoring maths is to remove any fear the student may have in regard to mathematics and then encourage the student to develop confidence in his or her own mathematical abilities. This initial object without question is often extremely challenging. However, watching as a student grows in confidence is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a maths tutor. Furthermore, the development of mathematical confidence is catalyst for both better understanding and achievements in the subject. My focus with senior mathematics is giving the students strong foundations on which they can build, in everyday life or further studies. Undoubtedly, relaxed and confident students are more receptive to the, often challenging, content of senior mathematics. Students are strongly encouraged to be curious and ask as many questions as they need to gain understanding. In addition, they need to develop a good work ethics and positive approach to their studies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 46. The Crucible And On The Waterfront Making amends for past sins is challenging yet ultimately rewarding Discuss with reference to the Crucible and On the Waterfront. The two texts, On the Waterfront directed by Elia Kazan, and The Crucible written by Arthur Miller, both exhibit a protagonist that is plagued by their sins and desperately seeks redemption. Through Terry Malloy s life on the Hoboken waterfront of 1950 s America, and John Proctor s in the Puritan society of 1962 Salem, it is clear that the act of expiating our wrongs is demanding and difficult but finally satisfying. Both texts show similarities but also differences in how the characters have sinned and betrayed their conscience and loved ones. The taxing journey of redemption is full of obstacles in which each texts protagonist deals with in their own unique but alike manner. Despite these unavoidable hardships, both Proctor and Malloy ultimately receive their desired redemption and gratifying outcomes. Thus, both texts show how life s uncertainties, confusions and wrongdoings should be dealt with humanity and a clear conscience instead of fulfilling individual needs. Both texts depict an antihero who committed an irreversible sin, sinking them into despair, and leaving them craving for salvation. In the opening scenes of On the Waterfront, Kazan s use of a close up shot of Terry Malloy s face is a manifestation of how Terry is being harried by the guilt of Joey Doyle s death. He thought the mob was just gonna lean on him a bit , instead,
  • 47. My Favorite Day At School I am walking on the sidewalk, as far away as I can from the gas station for now. I run into a library. At least I get to rest a bit, while enjoying the cool air inside the building. I find a place to myself, a nice arm chair on the second floor of the building. It s kind of weird that this library is so lovely, for such a run down town. But I m not complaining, I love libraries and I love to read. That s another thing I appreciated most in my times in the place I call Hell. I was never allowed to own my own books; Ms. Annette didn t like the fact that girls can be smart or like to learn like boys. Come on! It s the 21st century, everything is different from the time that ancient hag was my age. At school, I was always favored by the English teacher. No, this wasn t because I was a brown nose it s just because I always did my work, participated in class, and never complained about the assignments. I enjoyed it; math was a different story. My one English teacher I had in my 8th grade year, Mrs. O Neil was my favorite teacher ever. She was always so kind to me, even though no one else was. They thought I didn t belong, maybe just like my parents. She always picked out books for me she thought I would enjoy, which isn t hard to find. Her long, straight strawberry blonde hair left me jealous. I thought she was beautiful, what I yearned to be. My short, curly dark hair was the exact opposite. Even though I was jealous of her, she was my idol. My fondest memory of her was when it was right before Christmas break. I always dreaded break times because that meant more time at whatever home I was staying at, for the time, and they weren t always good. Especially this year. She had set aside 4 books on her desk, the last day before break. The bell rang and all of the students started shuffling out of their seats, to get out of there as soon as possible. Mrs. O Neil calls me to her desk. These books are for you, Effy. Take them, and you can keep them, they re yours I was in shock, no one had ever given me something as meaningful as this before. I started crying. Thank you so much You re very welcome. She says, But don t cry. She hugs me. This is one of the best moments of my life. ... The library closes at 6

  • 49. The Process Of Conducting Research Procedure The process of conducting research is to gather information that relates to your I search question. The I search question that I am seeking answers to happens to be; what is the definition of family in today s society? There are many methods of investigation that can be used to answer this question, but I have limited it to eight methods. The eight methods I have chosen are going to give me in depth information about my purposed I search question. The first method of investigation for my I search project that would best help me gather information for my project is interviewing both in person and by email. The interview process is beneficial to my project because it gives me in depth and comprehensive information. The interviews will consist of ordinary people in todays, society both younger and older the young will be aged from four to thirty and old will consist of anyone over thirty. I am doing the interviews to gain answers to my secondary questions which are based on gender and age. Also interviews provide personal experiences and better understanding of the subject matter in this case family. The second method of investigation will be scholarly journals. I am using journals because family is a big topic to be covered and it has been discussed and written about over many years. Many psychologists have written about what defines a family and how it has changed over time. These Journals will help me show that the definition is outdated and how it should be
