SPS is a skilled position of the Iowa City Veterans Medical center work with veteran's, staff, and patients
on a certified professional level. The assigned personnel decontaminate, and sterilize reusable instrument
for surgery and clinic use and are held responsible and accountable for the maintenance and cleanliness
of the daily assigned areas in the medical center in order to achieve an overall “High Quality,”
achievement status on a daily basis. SPS is a physically and mentally demanding position to ensure the
quality of care for veterans. And must maintain the ability to communicate politely and professionally
with the staff and the patients, be physically fit as the job involves much manual labor work, ability to
follow instructions with attention to detail and the capabilities of working long hours consistently. As an
SPS Specialist , we are trained and certified technicians that ensure and demonstrate efficient and
