This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

4. Microsoft PowerPoint is a
presentation software
program. Along with
Microsoft Word and Excel, it is
included in the standard
Office suite. Users can use the
software to create everything
from simple slide shows to
complex presentations.
5. PowerPoint is commonly used for:
business presentations
educational or
informal purposes.
The slides in the presentations
may contain text, images, and
other media such as audio clips
and movies.
7. Most PowerPoint presentations are
built using a template, which
includes a background color or image, a
standard font, and a variety of slide
layouts.
Changes to the template can be saved
to a "master slide," which stores the
presentation's main slide theme.
Changes to the master slide, such as
selecting a new background image, are
propagated to all the other slides.
This ensures that all of the slides in the
presentation have a consistent
appearance.
8. When delivering a PowerPoint presentation, the
presenter can choose whether to have the slides
change at predetermined intervals or to control
the flow manually. This can be accomplished with
a mouse, keyboard, or a remote control. The
presentation flow can be further customized by
allowing slides to load completely or one bullet at
a time. If the presenter has several bullet points
on a page, for example, he may have individual
points appear when he clicks the mouse. This
allows for more interaction with the audience and
focuses attention on each
point
9.
10. • Slide - is a single
page of a
presentation
collectively, a group
of slides may be
known as a slide
deck. The shortcut
key to insert a new
slide is Ctrl+M.
11.
12. • Design Templates – are pre-designed graphic
styles that you can apply to your slides
13.
14. • Slide Show Button - a collection of pages arranged in
sequence that contain text and images for presenting to an
audience. You may press F5 if you want to start your
presentation from the beginning of the slides or you may
click the slide show button to display the current slide in the
presentation.
15. • Animation - is a set of effects which can be applied to
text or graphics within a slide.
16. • Transitions - are motion effects that when in
Slide Show view add movement to your slides
as you advance from one slide to another. D
17.
18. • Presentation Views – These are the buttons that
you use to change views into normal, outline, slide
sorter, notes page, and reading views
19.
20. Normal View – a simplified layout of the page so you
can quickly key, edit, and format the text.
21. Notes Page View - displays your slides on the top portion of
the page, with the speaker notes for each slide in the notes
pane on the bottom of the pane.
22. Outline View - displays all of the text in a PowerPoint slide show
in outline form regardless of the design, objects and animations.
23. Slide Sorter View – allows you to see thumbnails of all the
slides in your presentation to easily rearrange them.
24. Reading View – allows you to see PowerPoint slides in full
screen mode. The slide will occupy the whole screen. To exit on
this setting without closing PowerPoint is by clicking the Escape
(Esc) button on the keyboard.
26. 1. Minimize - Keep slide count to a minimum to maintain a clear
message and to keep the audience attentive. Remember that the
presentation is just a visual aid. Most information should still
come from the reporter.
2. Clarity - Avoid being fancy by using a font style that is easy to
read. Make sure that it is also big enough to be read by the
audience. Once you start making your presentation, consider
how big the screen is during your report. A font size of 72 is
about an inch 8 (depends on the screen size). A one-inch letter is
readable 10 feet away; a two-inch letter is readable 20 feet away.
27.
28. 3. Simplicity - Use bullets or short sentences. Summarize
the information on the screen to have your audience
focus on what the speaker is saying than on reading the
slide. Limit the content to six lines and seven words per
line. This is known as the 6x7 rule.
29.
30. 4. Visual - Use graphics to help in your presentation but
not too many to distract the audience. In addition, instead
of using a table of data, use charts and graphs.
31. 5. Consistency - Make your design uniform. Avoid
having different fort styles and backgrounds.
32. 6. Contrast - Use light font on dark background or
vice versa. This is done so that it is easier to read. In
most instances, it is easier to read on screen if the
background is dark. This is due to the brightness of
the screen.
33. Custom Animation
Animation is a simulation of movement created by
displaying a series of pictures, or frames.
Animation on computers is one of the chief
ingredients of multimedia presentations. There are
many software applications that enable you to
create animations that you can display on a
computer monitor.
34. Custom Animation
One of this application software are presentation
software that you can use to create a slide show for your
presentation. Some of the popular software that are
available online for free or for purchase are WPS Office,
LibreOffice, and MS-PowerPoint.
35. HYPERLINK
A hyperlink or simply a link, is a reference data that
the reader can directly follow either by clicking or
tapping. Hyperlinks are found in nearly all Web pages,
allowing users to click their way from one page to
another. In text hyperlinks are often color blue and
underlined. When you move the cursor over a
hyperlink, whether it is text, button or an image, the
arrow cursor should be change to a small hand
pointing to the link
36. Hyperlinks have to basic parts:
1. The Address – can be webpage, email address,
or other location they are linking.
2. The Display – can be picture or shape.
Example:
• https://www.microsoft.com - address
• Microsoft - display text
• https://www.microsoft.com - address at the
same
time display text
37. Directions: Make a 20-slide powerpoint
presentation using common productivity tools
and techniques on how to mitigate and
prevent the spread of COVID-19 in your
community. Use the advance application
techniques. Assume that you will be
presenting to the youth in your community via
Zoom or another online platform. Submit the
output to your teacher through messenger or
email.
Editor's Notes
we learned about word processing. We discussed about the benefits of utilizing Mail Merge in some organizational tasks. We also learned how to manage different materials like images, text, shapes, charts, and smart arts inside the document. Today, we are going to continue to use our creativity and imagination in this topic.
Overuse of sound effects and transitions, on the other
hand, is likely to irritate your audience rather than draw
their attention.
Microsoft PowerPoint can be used to create and view PowerPoint presentations. They
can also be imported and exported using Apple Keynote, the Macintosh presentation program.
Because most people prefer not to watch presentations on a laptop, PowerPoint presentations
are frequently displayed with the help of a projector. As a result, if you're preparing a PowerPoint
presentation for a large group, just make sure you have the proper video adapter.
