The document describes the process of designing a contents page for a magazine. The designer edited photos using selection tools, adjusted colors and placement of images and text. Elements were added to provide information to readers, including page numbers, issue details, and previews of magazine contents. The layout was revised for improved neatness and organization.

1. PRODUCTION OF MY CONTENTS PAGE

2. I started with a light grey/purple background to see how it will look when i started producing my magazine.

3. I began editing some pictures which i will put in my contents page. For this picture i used the magnetic lasso tool which allowed me to select specific parts of the picture and deselect whatever I dont need. So i selected the female and the piano. Then I used the magic wand tool to allow me to take out little parts which were not in shape. I then used the eraser tool to soften the edges of the image. The bottom picture shows the edited version.

4. This is another image which I am going to use in my contents page. As you can see from the image, I used the magnetic lasso tool again to select specific parts of the image. This was a tricky image to edit because of the background and the shapes of the images. I also used the background eraser. For this part of the image I had to copy and paste using the lasso tool to make the shape straight as when edited it looked very messy. The image below is the edited version.

5. I then placed fonts for ‘CONTENTS’ ‘VINYL’ ‘ISSUE 33’ AND ‘THIS WEEK’ and i placed the images in the position I wanted them.

6. Here is some elements I added to my contents page, I added information for the reader. As you can see from the previous image, I have changed the colour of the background. I decided to do this because I felt as if that colour appealed to girls and this colour is more appropriate for me to relate to my Indie genre. I then got rid of the ‘THIS WEEK’ as it can relate to many other typical magazines such as ‘NME’ I have added page numbers on the two images I edited. I put the numbers in yellow so it would stand out. In the space left I am going to add another larger image and I will fill in the information for the ‘FEATURES’ part.

7. I decided to change the layout for my contents page and this is because it would look more neat and organised. I also used the marquee tool to make borders around the pictures. I also added the issue 133, March 2011 in the top right corner. I added an editorial with a signature and another preview of the magazine to give the audience some information about what they can see in the magazine.
