When booking kit, book a battery charger so I can
charge the battery at home. Also, book a spare
battery in case the original battery has completely
failed.
This could impact my project because the battery
could take a long time to charge meaning filming
could be delayed by a day depending on the time
if day it runs out and is fully charged by.
The camera could be damaged, causing the
camera to not work
When I collect the kit, test/check the camera over
to see if there’s any damage. Also, ask a tutor to
check it over with me. If the camera is damaged
and it doesn’t work, ask a tutor for anther one,
and check the new one over.
If I notice the damage at a later stage, come into
college on a study day to get a replacement
camera.
Or use a backup camera that I would take with me
as a spare. Or use my phone camera to record the
footage.
This could impact my project because I might not
notice the damage the first time I check it. I could
notice it when I’m at home, meaning I might have
to wait a day or two to collect a new camera,
depending on days when I’m at college, meaning
filming might have to be delayed.
If I come into college on a study day to collect a
new camera, this will still delay the project, but
not as long as leaving it until a day I’m in college.

Camera – The footage quality isn’t
clean
Do more than one shot of each scene.
When doing this, adjust the focus until
the quality is clear enough. Or change
the lens to a better one.

re-taking the footage could take a long
time. This could go into a time of day
when the scene isn’t set, meaning I
would have to re-take it another day,
delaying the project even further.

Boom Microphone The sound is very distorted. This could be due to
background noise or there could be a fault with
the microphone.
Test it before taking it out of college to see if it
works properly.
Re-record the sound when the background noise
has died down. Or move to a new location that’s
similar to the original location where it’s quieter.
Return the boom microphone to college and ask
for a new one.

to make sure it’s not the headphones that are the

another recorder, and test it before leaving
college.

would have to be delayed.

Power The lighting doesn’t work. This could be caused by
a power cut, a blown bulb or faulty wiring.
Before taking lights out of college, test them first
to make sure they work. Ask a tutor to be there as
a safety precaution in case it’s the wiring that’s
faulty.

the lighting could go out during filming, meaning
filming would have to be delayed.
When working on a computer/laptop, the power
could cut out unexpectedly. This could be because
of a power cut or fault with the hardware. Also,
this will cut the internet out.
Make sure my laptop is fully charged so I can use it
without it being plugged in, and bring it to college.
Save work regularly and save it in various places so

Software I don’t have Premiere Pro at home Buy Premiere Pro so I have it at home, or come
into college on study days to do any editing that
needs completing. This would save money so I
don’t have to buy it for home.
This could have an impact on my project because I
don’t have premiere pro at home, and college
could be shut when I need to use it which means I
would fall behind.
I have an older version of Photoshop at home Buy the most recent version of Photoshop, or

that needs it.

version won’t work as well as the new one. Also,
when I try to save it, it might save in a different
file format that isn’t compatible with the new
version.
Microsoft word doesn’t work. This could be
because the internet is down.
Write anything by hand and scan it in (e.g. shot
list). This will help because I will be able to carry
on with my work, it’s a small inconvenience
because I will have to write everything down

This could be a challenge because I don’t have
much experience with it.
Watch Tutorials of After Effects on YouTube and
practice at the same time.

What am I going to do for my experiments?
First, I’m going to film around college to build
my confidence in using the camera again. Once
I’ve filmed around college I’m going to edit the
footage by changing the colour saturation and
maybe add music to it depending on how long
each scene is. I haven’t done colour saturation
before so this is something new for me to try.
After I’ve filmed around college, I’m going to do
experiments which potential scenes that I might
include in my music video. For this, I will need to
use the studio and the green screen, and other
locations to see if they will work. Once I have
collected the footage I will edit it in premier, and
then I will make a decision whether it will work
in the video or not.

Experiment 1 – Testing the camera
This is my first experiment. I went up to fourth floor and filmed a POV shot.
I tried to make it look like someone peering over the balcony.
In Editing, I changed the colour temperature to -25.9 because the colours
before were a bit ‘in your face’. Changing the colour temperature to
something lower made the atmosphere look a lot calmer and less busy.
Also during editing I noticed that the sun was reflecting against the wood
and metal railing which made it reflect into the camera. I thought this effect
looked quite good and I might try to use a similar effect in my music video.

Experiment 2 – Point of View Shot
This is my second experiment. This is a point of
view shot of somebody entering the lift. There
identity is covered up. This is something I'm
thinking about including in my music video
because the video is supposed to be dramatic and
this is a dramatic subject which would keep the
audience gripped because they want to know who
the person is.
For the ‘running to the lift’ I turned the brightness
up because it looked very dull before. This have
given the scene a bit of a prison feeling to it.
For the scene in the lift I changed the colour
temperature to a lower setting because it makes it
look calmer and a bit brighter. I adjusted the black
setting to -100.0 to help cover up the identity of
the person.
