For production I filed all of my different footage in
relevant files. For example, I put all the footage for
my interview in one folder, all my internal workshop
footage into a folder, all the external footage into a
folder and all of my audio in another. This helped me
locate specific shots much easier and quicker than if
it was all together.
Here I have imported all my footage and audio into
premiere. Just like in all of my files, I have imported
the footage and audio files in their separate folders
to make it quick and easy to find my shots.
As you can see all of my shots last no more than 20-
30 seconds. I decided to shoot such short shots
because my corporate video was not going to be
longer than 1 – 2 minutes. Therefore having shorter
shots would make it easier for myself to edit and
choose what part of certain shots I was going to use.

4. PRODUCTION LOG
When editing I wanted to change the colour grading
of the shots to make them appear more saturated
and less dull. To do this I took each shot, increased
the brightness, minimized the red tones and
amplified the blue tones ever so slightly. This made
the footage look more cool and relaxed which was
fitting with my choice of soundtrack.
I got my soundtrack from a free YouTube channel
that posts corporate/ business advertisement
soundtracks. I thought my soundtrack was fitting
with the style of my video and the length of my
video.
Also, during my editing, I had two layers of audio on
top of the single layer of footage. I chose to only use
the single layer of footage as I wasn’t planning on
changing the opacity of different layers and
overlaying them. That technique would work in film
however this style of video is very simplistic and
straight forward. I also had to use two different
layers of audio as I had the audio from the interview
on one layer and the soundtrack on another.

5. PRODUCTION LOG
I used after effects for two main areas for the post
production of my corporate video.
The first use of after effects was for the interview I
did with the management representative of the
company Gaswise. For this interview, I wanted to
create a smooth transitional slide on effect with the
name and job title of whom I was interviewing. To do
this I simply made the animation on Photoshop and
used a slide transition effect to have it slide on
screen. Also I chose a white and light blue colour
scheme so it would fit in comfortably with the colour
scheme of the companies logo.
For the second use of after effects I wanted to make
the ending logo shot a bit more exciting. Therefore I
decided to make the little candle dot on the “i” flicker
like a real candle does. To do this I used the “CC
Twister” effects on transition and applied this to the
layer. Also to give this animation more of a candle
effect I decided to add a subtle glow to it.

7. PEER/TUTOR FEEDBACK
I got some feedback from my peers about the colour grading of my footage. I was
told that it was too cool toned and therefore it came across as rather cinematic. In
some cases this type of effect would be good, however due to this being a
corporate project, I needed to adjust the footage and make it less blue toned and
amplify the red tones slightly within the shots. Doing this allowed me to see that
the footage was far too blue toned within the colour palette, and it allowed me to
adjust the colour palette accordingly to the style of the video being a corporate
promotional video.
I got feedback also from my tutor. This feedback informed me that my video was
too long and that amount of footage of the establishment itself overpowered and
overweighed the footage of the interview, therefore I needed to edit. When
watching back after receiving this feedback. I realised I needed to edit out a lot of
the workshop/ establishment footage. This cut the length of my video down almost
40 seconds however balanced out the different shots and footage and actually
made the video less boring and repetitive but it made the video far more
interesting and enjoyable to watch!

8. CLIENT FEEDBACK
Thankfully the client was extremely pleased with the final outcome. In fact, due to
there being two of us working on the same project, the client had two separate
final edits to choose what to do with. For example one of the final cuts was
uploaded to the companies social media to promote their company to others online
who were interested I similar things, and the other final cut was temporarily posted
on the companies website for others to see when visiting the sight to find out all
about what the companies purpose was.

Critically evaluate your work in reference to professional
practice.
My time management for this project was very successful. I made a schedule that
included planning, production and post production. I made sure I stayed stuck to
the schedule to make sure I got all the work done in time, however I still made
sure I gave myself enough time to do the work to my best standard. Leadership
skills were a hard things to organise. Because there were only two of us working
on the planning and production of this project, we decided to take leadership roles
in different areas. For example I took the lead in camera operating and my partner
took the lead in the audio operating. This made production go very smoothly and it
allowed us not to clash. Me and my partner had very similar outlooks on what we
wanted our video to look like, this allowed us to collect out footage easily. However
we were able to experiment in post as we both created our own individual edit. We
also easily agreed on working to specific timescales therefore we were able to
finish certain areas of work at the same time. Doing this meant we could compare
work and make our own corrections if we needed to.

11. CONSTRAINTS
Critically evaluate any constraints
The biggest constraint for me was organising a time for production that would
allow us to shoot the workrooms, classes that were on and the interview all in the
space of one or two days and organising this as far in advance to create a smooth
schedule. For example one day that I could go in a shoot a class would be the day
that the management representative would not be in to shoot and interview, or the
other way around. Also there were some days we could not go in to shoot as we
couldn’t get access to the workshops all week round. This really put a constraint
on that we could and could not film and put in our video. In the end we decided to
choose the interview over the small class as we thought this would be far more
important and relevant to the video.

12. FINAL PRODUCT
Critically evaluate the final piece.
Overall I was genuinely happy with what I produced as my final product. The client
was happy with both edits, we managed our time successfully, and managed to
work along side each other without clashing. I am also happy with how the video
came out visually. The colour grading, soundtrack and shots all fit within the video
style and it reflects the company well as a whole.
However there are a few things I would change. For example I would change the
length of the interview with the Management Representative as this would allow
me to include more unique footage of the establishment which would make the
video more interesting to watch. Also, if I could change things, I would contact the
company earlier about days for production. I would change this because I could
have booked in dates to go and film. Doing this even earlier in advance would
have allowed me to film the interview, the workshops of the building and the
classes that are held. This would allow my video to cover all major aspects of the
company instead of two.
