Another lighthearted tagline with intergalactic

Still al lot of space taken up by

SUGGESTS WHAT KIND
OF PEOPLE THIS
ARTICLE MAY
INTREEST
The article talks directly to the reader. Using
language such as you, to address the reader.
Master head
Cover line
Colours match that of
Iron Man’s suit
Actor looking directly at
audience and also out
into the distance, very
good way to engage the
audience as well as
something very
interesting is happening
off screen.
Stoic look
Damaged suit suggesting a
more dark film for Iron Man
as well as getting the
audience to want to find
out what happened to him.
Many of the film magazines have
the same basic formula of having
a main character of the film they
focus on looking past the
audience to something happening
in the film. With a background
that follows the aesthetic of said
film and text that tries to
compliment and emphasis this.
This is done to draw in the
audience to find out what's going
on and to keep a coherent cover.
Rhetorical
questions are a
consistent
theme, using
theme to again
draw in readers
to find out the
answers inside.

Area near face
kept fairly
clear so we
can focus on
expression.
This is also the
center piece
and where
your eyes
naturally fall
on a page.
More simplistic design,
less busy. More mature
audience that maybe
takes films more
seriously, looking for
more in depth
knowledge. No light
hearted sub headings.
Background is an actual
shot from the film. Less
colourful than other
magazines.
Something on the
horizon.

The sub header
to the article,
outlining what it
will be talking
about.
Main character
taking an entire
page of the two
page spread. The
pages are taken up
mostly with the
image and have
very little text, most
film articles do this.
They start with s
two page spread
with a lot of space
dedicated to an
image or images
from a film and
then will have the
next two pages
mostly dedicated to
the text/article.
Film title
Catchy

engage the
reader.
Eye catching
graphic
Banners often used that rotate a number of articles that are included on the website.
Use an image from what the article is about.
The website starts with a large banner of the film it is to talk about. A nice visual aesthetic pulling you into the article. The photo
here shows the classic image of a hero lineup seen in basically all superhero team up films. It then has a plot synopsis on the first
act, so as not to spoil the film. It also has basic film details on the left along with a star rating to help sum up the reviewers
thoughts.
This is now the main part of the
review and plays out like a double
spread in a paper, just in a column
form, and you will notice that the
text to picture space ratio is far
higher. It still uses images to
punctuate the article and to break
up the text. It also pulls quotes
from the article and enlarges it to
sum up the writers thoughts and
to draw the reader into further
insight.
It also uses its online format to
embed a movie trailer into the
article, so the viewer can get a
further taste of what the movie
might offer and also that they
may understand what the
reviewer has said so far. And
then like more traditional
forms of media it finishes off
with a conclusion.
Websites home page with
links to all the different
types of articles they write.
Links to lots of film news
stories as well as reviews,
all accompanied by an
image that on the news
story side feature who or
what the article is about.
The movie reviews include a
captivating image of the film as
well as the star rating that the
reviewer has given the film. It
also includes part of the first line
of the review, again drawing in
the reader.
Image taking up a lot
more space than text.
Large image of the
artist looking off into
the distance.
Pulled quotes
from the article.
Tagline summing up
the artist and article
but asking a question
that will be
answered in the
article.
Ginger
highlighted
because it’s the
most
interesting part
of the quote
and the one
that makes the
quote work.

click on the

you to click on.
It has a link on how to buy the physical copy of the magazine.
As well as links to other areas of the website and images of
what those pages are about.

• List of films and tv shows to watch.
• Maybe breakdown of directors and actors to keep an eye on, stars on the rise

for the group movies.

The pages are taken up mostly with the image and have very little text, most film articles do this. They start with s two page spread with a lot of space dedicated to an image or images from a film and then will have the next two pages mostly dedicated to the text/article. Film title Catchy header to engage the reader. Eye catching graphic
  • 12. Banners often used that rotate a number of articles that are included on the website. Use an image from what the article is about.
  • 13. The website starts with a large banner of the film it is to talk about. A nice visual aesthetic pulling you into the article. The photo here shows the classic image of a hero lineup seen in basically all superhero team up films. It then has a plot synopsis on the first act, so as not to spoil the film. It still uses images to punctuate the article and to break up the text. It also pulls quotes from the article and enlarges it to sum up the writers thoughts and to draw the reader into further insight. It also uses its online format to embed a movie trailer into the article, so the viewer can get a further taste of what the movie might offer and also that they may understand what the reviewer has said so far. And then like more traditional forms of media it finishes off with a conclusion.
