EATING HABITS
• ALWAYS eat breakfast!
• Balance Food Groups- mixture of fruits and vegetables, which add color and also
texture, nutrients, and fiber.
• Make sure to watch your portion sizes! A portion should be the size of your fist, and a
serving of meat should be the size of your palm of your hand.
• Make sure you have good carbs! Make sure to pay attention to how many
carbohydrates you're eating and how often you eat them.
• Its also a good tip to cook food at home. Fast food and other restaurants are mostly
processed foods.
EXERCISE IS VERY IMPORTANT
• Research shows that regular exercise among young people is associated
with improvements in muscle development, heart health, bone strength, mental
health, and also to help out with academic growth.
• People who exercise have a lot lower risk for Chronic Diseases- such as type 2 diabetes
diabetes and some heart diseases.
• The Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans and the American Academy of
Pediatrics recommend that children and adolescents participate in 60- minute activities
everyday.
LIFTING WEIGHTS ARE ALSO A KEY
PART IN STAYING HEALTHY
• Lifting weights aren't only for body sculpting and for amazing body strength.
People always misunderstand why lifting weights is so important
• Lifting weights is very good for making muscles very strong, so then the muscles
wont get sore and start to hurt.
• Muscle tissue burns three times as many calories as fat, even when just laying around
and watching Television.
• Even when you sleep you burn calories
• A study has shown that people that lift weights a least three times a week have
lost more calories and pounds than from people that just have a food diet
weights.

• Minerals make healthy skin, strong bones, and teeth.
• Vitamins helps the body fight disease and to stay healthy.
• Vitamins are found in fruits and vegetables.
• Fiber helps the body digest food.
• Fiber is found in Whole Grains, fruit, and vegetables.
• Protein builds muscle and also repairs muscle damage.
• Protein is found in meat, milk products, beans, and also fish.
• Fats in meat, fish, and milk products help the body build healthy nerves and they also
help fight off disease.
