Healthy Eating Habits
The Meaning of nutritious food
 Different food contains different nutrients.
Foods that bring advantages to our body.
 Our body depends on food for energy to
carry out everyday activities.
 Nutrition is the process by which living
organisms obtain the food they
need to grow and repair body tissues.
Rice
• The main sources of energy came from food which
contain carbohydrates like rice. It is for physical activities
like walking, running, and to keep body warm.
Fish
• Fish contains protein which our body is mainly made of.
They are needed for the growth of new cells and
replacement and repair of damaged or injured tissues.
Oranges
• Vitamins that are found in oranges are used to maintain
healthy skin teeth and gums, it is also used to heal
wounds and increase the body’s resistances to diseases.

 Maintains health
 Maintains body fluid
balance
 Maintain body’s
functions
 Helps to fight diseases
 Provides building
materials needed to grow
new cells and tissues
 Causing malnutrition
 If our food intake is not
balanced with physical
activity or if we eat too
much we may get obese or
all sort of terrible disease
 Body will not be
functioning well
 Become unhealthy
 Choosing food to the nutrient contents rather that their taste.
 The amount of food that you consume should reflect the
recommendation in the food pyramid.
 Drink about at least 8-10 glasses of water each day.
 If you are an active person, then you should increase your
calorie intake . Cut down on carbohydrates and fats but consume
more proteins instead if you are not an active person.
 A balanced diet may vary from one person to another ,it could
be verified by :
-Age
-Sex
-Body size
-Physical activity and occupation
-State of health
Muslims are forbidden to consume
pork. When we eat with them, make
sure our food is halal.
Hindus do not take beef . Likewise,
we shall respect them by not serving
them beef.
Christians pray before they eat, we
must not interrupt them when they
are praying.
Some Buddhism are vegetarian, we
must respect their food choices by
not serving them meat at all.
As Asians, we respect our elders,
when we dine, The younger ones
should serve the older ones and let
them eat first.

Classes of food : All seven kinds of food are adequately included.
Wasting food can cause the wastes to rot and animals that
bring diseases to approach.
When we are served food , think of those who are hungry and
nothing to eat.
Eat almost 70% full each meal , it is good for your digestive
system and you get to safe food and keep fit at the same time.
Donate food generously to the underprivileged or needy.
When you are attending a buffet, do not take more than you can
eat.
Be grateful for the food and drinks
The school can build a campaign about “The importance of
distributing food to the underprivileged and ways to carry it out”
Parents must give good education about to their children
