What is managerial excellence
and organisational effectivness
– In the early days organization were simple, vertical and based on hierarchical
order. Through organization, management was used to distribute work,
establish inter-job, inter-departmental & inter-personnel relationship.
– The opening up of an Indian Industry to this new scenario demands the
development of global vision to cater to the global market. It also demand fresh
and innovative perception to respond to the radical changes of tomorrow.
– corporate culture, flattening of organizational structure, employee
empowerment, team building, effective leadership, creativity and innovation
are the new dimension of today organization required for managerial
effectiveness & excellence.
Leading the people
– Effective leadership is the most important concept of successful business.
– About effective leadership, Vedanta philosophy states in its unique way a that a
leader/ manager must be RAJA -a -king(skilled in governance) and also RISHI-
an ideal human being with divine qualities who can manages his “SELF” and
others effectively.
– Effective leader or manager management knowledge, skill and experience are
not only the important aspect but his value standards and emotional maturity
are also considered equally important.
Building and managing teams
– He should create a working environment that is informal, friendly & relaxed.
– He should not allow any individual member to assume so much importance that
may create irritation in mind of others .
– He should define group objective unambiguously.
– He should have full confidence in his subordinates.
– He should establish free and open communication system.
– He should listen to his subordinates problems, complaints & needs patiently.

Creating innovation and creativity
– Creativity is a creation of new ideas which enables an organization for a change.
– innovation helps in translating new ideas into product / services.
– Economist Joseph said that “innovation is a creative destruction”
– Indian philosophy states that every soul is divine and full of opportunities and
ideas, and for implementing that management should that perform a various
types of activities by providing incentives.
– Empowerment doesn’t mean that a labor is a machine that doesnot have
feelings they also have wants and needs and a firm should treat them as a
human not a machine.
Flattening of organisation
structure
– Old type of organizational structure are very famous as they have clear and well
defined goals.
– But now structure and levels of management should reduce its level in order to
meet rapid changing environment and to take immediate decision.
– Effective organization is only possible when there is a team building spirit and
flexible organizational structure, which also encourages new innovative and
creative ideas.
– The leadership which understands the needs and values of each personnel will
lead to effective attainment of goals.
