Conclusions about students’ surveys
Students of eight-one, are taking 8th grade for first time and a few
of them are repeating it. In this case, the topics of the program will
be new for most of the students.
The students assert that, they like activities of speaking and
listening in English lesson; while reading is boring for them. In a
consequence, talking and listening could be skills for being
developed with creative activities.
It is concluded that students qualify the teachers’ activities “boring”
instead of creative and dynamic. This situation shows the absence
of innovative activities during the lessons.
Most of the students referred to the importance of dynamic
activities because they “Make me enjoy it”. It refers about how
students take pleasure in English lessons and make a significant
learning process; also it assures the students attention.
Recommendations about students’ surveys
It is recommended for teachers to know about their students’
abilities and disabilities in order to try to implement the
adequate strategies for all and each one of them according to
their needs.
It is recommended that teachers identify their students’
preferences in order to establish a parallel process when
teacher and students are active protagonists.
It is recommended for teachers to take advantage with
effective plans, about the opportunity to learn a foreign
language and the optimism with the students take the subject
as a chance to learn and know another language, another
culture.
Conclusions about teachers’ surveys
It is concluded that most of the teachers have a bachelor
degree in English teaching while none of them have higher
level. In this case, most of them have a standard rank of
education and are competing and working with almost the
same academic characteristics.
There is a variety of troubles when teaching English, which do
not allow teachers to develop their lessons in an adequate
way; for example: lack of time, lack of sources, and the
syllabus.
Most of the teachers apply different approaches. So, it is
significant in this field of English teaching, since teachers can
take many ideas and strategies of each one of them to put
into practice in our lessons.
Recommendations about teachers’ surveys
It is suggested to the universities which have the challenge to
prepare English teachers to improve the programs in two important
aspects. First, to provide teachers with a huge knowledge about
attractive, dynamic, creative and modern activities, strategies or
methods which provoke a meaningful teaching-learning process.
Second, to give the opportunity to put into practice this new
knowledge, and share the contributions and ideas that can emerge
from the interaction while teachers’ training.
It is suggested to The MEP to think on certain changes to improve
English teaching; for instance: to provide more time or more lessons,
to update the syllabus taking out or adding contents, to provide
teachers with materials like books, flashcards, CDs’,
videos, newspapers, magazines which students can use and feel
interested , and decrease the amount of students per class.
It is suggested to choose the best method or approach for the
specific topic or activity which will be taught or put into practice, and
make the best choice according to the students’ characteristics.

Purpose
Professors need to be proficient in the process of teaching
English for getting the purposes of learning.
The promotion of a favorable environment of learning could
be the first step for a successful learning.
With the use of different strategies and techniques, they are
able to improve their skills without been bored or
disinterested for the English classes.
The following playful or dynamic activities are suggestions for
teachers in order to improve the teaching-learning process.

DEVELOPING TEACHING STRATEGIES AND TECHNIQUES WITH BEGINNER STUDENTS AT UNIDAD PEDAGOGICA BARRIO NUEVO HIGH SCHOOL

  • 3. General Aspects The growth of the world has increased the society demands. Costa Rican educative system is living a crisis. The inclusion of English as a second language demands an effective and successful process. Teachers’ motivation towards students’ needs.
  • 4. Objective: To propose strategies and techniques to be applied at Unidad Pedagógica Barrio Nuevo High School to improve English learning process.
  • 5. ¨ Strategies and Techniques¨ Refers to : ¨Variety of activities that promote dynamic learning involving students in doing things out of the routine and thinking about what they are doing¨
  • 6. Benefits of Different Strategies and Techniques: Motivation Affective Cognitive Class dynamics Adaptability The use of games in class time. Importance of fun and relaxing atmosphere.
  • 7. Type of investigation It is focused on a qualitative research. The purpose of this study is oriented to collect information and data about the results of applying different creative and dynamic methologies to teach English as foreign language.

  • 15. Conclusions about students’ surveys Students of eight-one, are taking 8th grade for first time and a few of them are repeating it. In this case, the topics of the program will be new for most of the students. The students assert that, they like activities of speaking and listening in English lesson; while reading is boring for them. In a consequence, talking and listening could be skills for being developed with creative activities. It is concluded that students qualify the teachers’ activities “boring” instead of creative and dynamic. This situation shows the absence of innovative activities during the lessons. Most of the students referred to the importance of dynamic activities because they “Make me enjoy it”. It refers about how students take pleasure in English lessons and make a significant learning process; also it assures the students attention.
  • 16. Recommendations about students’ surveys It is recommended for teachers to know about their students’ abilities and disabilities in order to try to implement the adequate strategies for all and each one of them according to their needs. It is recommended that teachers identify their students’ preferences in order to establish a parallel process when teacher and students are active protagonists. It is recommended for teachers to take advantage with effective plans, about the opportunity to learn a foreign language and the optimism with the students take the subject as a chance to learn and know another language, another culture.
  • 17. Conclusions about teachers’ surveys It is concluded that most of the teachers have a bachelor degree in English teaching while none of them have higher level. In this case, most of them have a standard rank of education and are competing and working with almost the same academic characteristics. There is a variety of troubles when teaching English, which do not allow teachers to develop their lessons in an adequate way; for example: lack of time, lack of sources, and the syllabus. Most of the teachers apply different approaches. So, it is significant in this field of English teaching, since teachers can take many ideas and strategies of each one of them to put into practice in our lessons.
  • 18. Recommendations about teachers’ surveys It is suggested to the universities which have the challenge to prepare English teachers to improve the programs in two important aspects. First, to provide teachers with a huge knowledge about attractive, dynamic, creative and modern activities, strategies or methods which provoke a meaningful teaching-learning process. Second, to give the opportunity to put into practice this new knowledge, and share the contributions and ideas that can emerge from the interaction while teachers’ training. It is suggested to The MEP to think on certain changes to improve English teaching; for instance: to provide more time or more lessons, to update the syllabus taking out or adding contents, to provide teachers with materials like books, flashcards, CDs’, videos, newspapers, magazines which students can use and feel interested , and decrease the amount of students per class. It is suggested to choose the best method or approach for the specific topic or activity which will be taught or put into practice, and make the best choice according to the students’ characteristics.
  • 19. Creative Materials To Encourage Students To A Better Learning Process PROPOSAL
  • 20. General Objective To improve English teaching lessons with creative instruments to help student learn in an effective and efficiency way.
  • 21. Purpose Professors need to be proficient in the process of teaching English for getting the purposes of learning. The promotion of a favorable environment of learning could be the first step for a successful learning. With the use of different strategies and techniques, they are able to improve their skills without been bored or disinterested for the English classes. The following playful or dynamic activities are suggestions for teachers in order to improve the teaching-learning process.
