UNIT 8-GRAMMAR: (RELATIVE CLAUSES).

TOO / ENOUGH + ADJECTIVE.
• TOO + ADJECTIVE
• we use too + adjective when something exceeds satisfactory.
ENOUGH + ADJECTIVE
• We use adjective + enough meaning “sufficient”
• When used in negative Not enough is the opposite of too.
STRUCTURE + EXAMPLE
• TOO + ADJECTIVE OR ADVERB
• The water was too cold to swim in.
• This house is too big.
• ADEJECTIVE + ENOUGH
• It was easy enough for them to complete.
• This house is big enough.
• ADJECTIVE + NOT ENOUGH
• This house is not big enough. = opposite of too big.
• It is not quiet enough. = opposite of too quiet.
Sufficient.
Excess.
Not sufficient.
TOO MUCH
• It is used with nouns that cannot be counted.
• Example
• You love her too much.
• We have too much food.
• It is used with nouns that can be counted.
• Example
• There are too many people in the store.
• There are too many ships in the port.
RELATIVE CLAUSES
• We use the relative clause to give extra information about the nouns in the main
clause, without starting another sentences. The relative clause goes immediately
after the noun it relates to.

Who Used for person • She is my daugther who is 4 years old.
• I have a friend who is very generous.
Which Used for things and animals • This is my dog spike which jumps very
high.
• I go to a school which is very traditional.
That Used for people, things, and animals • Luis is at the hotel that is near his house.
