107 years old   Our school started 1901 by some parents who wanted boys and girls to go together in the same school.  Sam  means  together  in Swedish. The school has been inspired by Maria Montessori’s ideas. It does not confess to any religion. Creative subjects such as art, music and craft play an important role in our school.

Traditions Traditions are an important part of our school life. .
When the school year starts we celebrate with a party in one of our schoolyard.
We celebrate Lucia at 13 th   December .
Lussedansen is a performance  where every class presents a different folk dance. This year it is on 17th of December. Everybody wears a national costume from Sweden or another country.
In springtime, 30 th  April, we welcome the spring by having an outdoor assembly and sing traditional songs.

Wood work and textile handicraft All students from the age of seven have either wood work or textile handicraft once a week in well equipped classrooms with trained teachers.
