Samskolan Sweden is a 107-year-old coeducational school inspired by Maria Montessori's ideas that does not profess any religion. It has several buildings that house classrooms for different grade levels from preschool through 6th grade. Traditions such as celebrating Lucia on December 13th, a spring assembly on April 30th, and a folk dance performance where students wear national costumes are an important part of school life. All students from age 7 participate in woodworking or textiles classes once a week. The school aims to provide a well-rounded education through subjects like art, music, crafts, outdoor lessons, and physical education.
