Kvarnby school was built in 1924 and inaugurated in 1925 under the original name Centralskolan, which was later changed to Kvarnbyskolan in 1945. During World War 2, the school housed refugee camps in the summer to provide protection for people from Germany. In the 1950s, the school also hosted summer hotels. The school has large halls used for classrooms, except for specialized rooms for music, woodworking, and technology.
