This document is an email from Polish students summarizing information about their school and answering questions from Spanish students. It describes their small primary school of 70 students located in a village. After primary school, students attend a lower secondary school in another village via bus. They then go to high school. The students study subjects like Polish, English, math, science, and religious education. They have 5-7 lessons per day that are 45 minutes each with short breaks. The school building has classrooms, a gym, computer lab, and library. The students also celebrate National Education Day on October 14th where they have fun at school without homework.
1. Hello !!! =
Witajcie !!!
Greetings from cold but sunny Poland
What’s the weather like in Spain at the moment?
Thank you for your email, we enjoyed it a lot.
You all look fantastic in the photo
Our school is not as big as your school. Only 70 students learn here, it is not a
private Primary School (children aged 5-12 from grades 0-VI,). Then students learn
for three years at Lower Secondary School (in Poland it is called Gimnazjum). It is
situated in another village so students get there by a school bus. At the age of
sixteen they go to High School and after three or four years they pass Matura Exam
(A-level).
How many students are there in your school?
Our village is very small so our school is also very small but we like it.
We get homework every day and we don’t like doing homework but we have to
We study different subjects: Polish, English, Maths, Science, Information
Technology, Music, Art, Technology, Physical Education and Religious Education.
What school subjects do you have in Spain?
We don’t study Spanish in Primary School, students learn German or French in
Gimnazjum and then in High School.
Every day we have 5- 7 lessons. Each lesson = 45 minutes. Breaks last 5-10 minutes.
There is one longer lunch break (30 minutes).
How long are lessons and breaks in your school?
Our school building isn’t so big, there is a small gym, a computer lab, a dining room, a
school library and 6 classrooms. We also have a playground next to school.
Can you send us a photo of your Corveto School?
You asked about Poland…. It is a beautiful country, the capital city is Warsaw. In
the north of Poland there is the Baltic Sea, in the south there are high mountains
the Tatras, We live in the south of Poland and we like our region.
What is the most beautiful region in your country?
Every year, on 14th October we celebrate National Education Day in Poland ( we
call it “Teacher’s Day” ). We don’t have lessons on that day. We meet at school,
perform school plays and have fun with no books and no homeworks.
Do you celebrate Teacher’s Day in Spain?
Have a nice week, get the best marks and SMILE all the time
Pa pa ( = bye bye)
Students from 5th and 6th grades
