3. The Magazine uses lots of different fonts and colours. However it mainly sticks to the colours red and white, the same colours as the logo.
4. The band stood central of the page, this makes them stand out from the rest of the information on the front and makes the front cover eye catching.
5. The layout of the page is quite messy but it’s all easily readable. This allows people to qickly gather information about the content isde the magazine.
6.
7. The front cover is mostly filled up with the main image of ‘Britney’, the magazine is focussing on her because they have a big interview with her. Making her the main image makes her more interesting to look at on the page and is intriguing.
11. Evaluation For this task I researched into other magazines to find out what techniques they had used and how they were constructed. This was successful in helping me design my front cover and where to place some of the text. To improve even more, next time I would look into a wider range of magazines instead of just looking at two. To create the front cover I was introduced to two new programmes ‘Indesign’ and ‘Photoshop’. I found it hard to use at first but managed to learn the basics. When it came to the final design of the front cover I chose to use ‘Microsoft Publisher’ and ‘Microsoft Photodraw’. I felt more comfortable using these programmes and thought it would produce a better outcome as I’m more familiar with them. For the main task, I intend to use ‘Indesign’ and ‘Photoshop’ so that my front cover looks neater and more professional. After receiving feedback from the audience, I can now identify what I have done well and areas which need improvement. For example people liked the layout of the page, but it lacked in a variety of fonts and texts. What I’ve learnt from this feedback is that I need to add more pictures, different fonts and more colours. Overall, I think this task has helped me develop skills that will contribute to doing well in the main task. To create the main magazine i’m going to use ‘InDesign’ and ‘Photoshop’ but I believe that not using them in this task made my work more successful.
