long as it sticks to the lyrical narrative it will be a
highly successful video, my only concern is the
number of shots required to communicate the
message.

happy and when he is sad make sure it is cold
and cloudy.
What elements of the idea did you like/dislike? I liked the idea it’s well thought through, I think
it will work well.
As an idea, does it appeal to you as the target
audience?
Yes as I am a teenager and we all go through the
stages of feeling rubbish and sometime when
our mums take us shopping it cheers us up, so I
can relate when he buys new shoes and he feels
on top of the world.
Do you think it would fit in the current scene of
music videos?
Yes I do, everyone now a days every young teen
has problems with self-image, and teens will
take a real interest in this video as they can
relate to their “idol”.
2. Do you have any further comments? Make sure the shoes are enhanced, when editing
the video. As this seems to be the key part of the
music video. Well done I hope you do well and
enjoy making the video and can learn something
from having new shoes.

It sounds like a video that will perfectly fit in with
other summer songs and videos.

to keep the audience’s attention and ‘self-image’
theme.
After carrying out this survey for my final idea, I was given back lots of constructive ideas and
criticism. Lots of these are ideas I hadn’t considered myself but will work perfectly with the mood
and style of my idea. I was also pleased to find out that the idea itself was appealing and intriguing
for members of my target audience, if it wasn’t so appealing people may not have been as inclined
to leave some of the constructive and development comments/answers.
An idea that was mentioned a few times was the use of the shoes glowing or having a colour
enhancement to really demonstrate the message of the video. Another great idea that was
mentioned was the use of black and white footage prior to the shoes being worn. This would be a
great effect and one that I had not initially thought of. I would work in a similar style to the original
‘Wizard of Oz’ film, the way that life seems more dull and gloomy to begin with but then the sudden
use of colour will portray a happy and uplifting feeling for the audience.
