What is a prairie ?
A prairie is a temperate grassland, plains of grass that get hot in the summer and
cold in the winter. Even now, the prairie is a large area.
Where are the prairies?
Prairies are located in the interior of North America

In the prairies are different animals such as :
- Antelope
- Badger
- Bison
- Coyote
FLORA
In the prairies are different plants such as :
- Red Elm - Ulmus rubra
- Snailseed - Cocculus carolinus
- Pawpaw - Asimina triloba
Is it endangered?
Over the last century, prairie dogs have lost most of their native habitat to
agriculture and urban development.
The people
Native Americans were the first people to use the prairie's vast resources. The
prairie provided them with plants that could be used as food and medicine.
