Throughout your power points, you will encounter
the following symbols:

Important!


There are a few concepts that will be EXTRA
important for you to remember as the course
proceeds.

These concepts will be accompanied by the
megaphone symbol.

In presentation mode, there is a sound associated
with the symbol if you mouse over the symbol.

Journal assignments


At each point within a power point at which it would
be appropriate to answer one of your Journal
questions, you will see the clipboard and pad
symbol.

Questions/problems


Throughout the power points we will provide
questions or problems for you to work out on your
own. The answer or worked-out problem will be on
the notes section of the same slide.

These will be flagged with the question mark icon.

Notes page
Some slides will have information on the associated
Notes page. The musical notes icon will indicate you
should check the Notes.

The Notes can be accessed by
  clicking on “Normal” in the View menu to reveal the notes
  below each slide, or
  clicking on “Notes Page” in the View menu to see only the
  slide and its notes.


We will also provide an MS Word document with the
text of all notes, listed by slide number, for those of you
who can only view power point documents in slide
show mode.

Pencasts
Whenever there is a link to a pencast tutorial for the
material on a slide, you will see the SmartPen icon.

For instruction on accessing, viewing, and manipulating
these pencasts, click on the “Help with TECHNOLOGY”
course menu button, then click on “Course-Specific
Help.”
  Scroll down to “LiveScribe.”

Links to Pencasts will also be available in the “Power
Point and Related Materials” folder for each module.
