This document describes an experiment using a BJT amplifier in common emitter configuration. The objectives are to study amplification in general and this specific circuit. The circuit will be analyzed in DC and small signal to determine operating point, input/output impedances, voltage gains, and the effect of the decoupling capacitor. Components include resistors, capacitors, and a 2N2222 transistor. Measurements of operating point, gains, and impedances will be taken both with and without the decoupling capacitor to observe its effect on gain. Frequency considerations for component modeling as open or short circuits are also discussed.
