Amazon Vendors get purchase orders only when the
product gathers interest from consumers. This can
take time for a newly launched product.
Born to Run ( Vendor )
Born to Run allows you to request orders for a
product by telling Amazon how many units you expect
to sell in 10 weeks.
Once approved, Amazon raises a PO for that amount.
Born to Run ( Vendor )
So, Amazon’s “Born to Run” program gives Vendors
the opportunity to launch products on Amazon at an
accelerated rate rather than having to wait to ramp up
sales and positive reviews.

Amazon will keep unsold units
Give Amazon a ‘Born To Run
Retention Fees’ equal to 25% of the
cost of the unsold units.

Amazon may return unsold units,
taking into account weeks of cover
and sell-through. In case any such
unsold units are returned by
Amazon, Amazon will refund 100%
of the product cost for any units so
returned, plus standard shipping
and handling fees.
