How to Share Large
Video Files

Shoot video of your
classroom and then share
online with mentor
Problem:
50 minute video clip is too
big. Takes forever to
upload.Won’t fit in
Dropbox.
It’s like trying to put ten
gallons of water in a five
gallon bucket.
We need to:
Shoot it
Compress it
Deliver it
So many variables:
Using a Flip camera
Use Flip USB connector to attach to your computer
Download video(s) to your computer desktop
Use video conversion software to compress video if file is too large. Any Video Converter works well on Windows XP and Windows 7 http://goo.gl/ugkx
Convert video to MP4 file
Open your Google account
Go to Google Drive
Drag and drop your video file to Google Drive
Share with others by clicking the Share icon and entering their email address
Using a digital camera that also shoots video
Use USB cable to connect your camera to your computer (or remove SD card from camera and insert into SD card slot on your computer)
Download video(s) to your computer desktop
Use video conversion software to compress video if file is too large. Any Video Converter works well on Windows XP and Windows 7 http://goo.gl/ugkx
Open your Google account
Go to Google Drive
Drag and drop your video file to Google Drive
Share with others by clicking the Share icon and entering their email address
Using an iPad
Download Google Drive from the App Store (free)
Download video conversion software Video Slimmer ($2.99) from the App Store
Convert video clip to MP4 using Video Slimmer app
Access your Google account using Google Drive app
Upload your converted video clip to your Google account by touching the + icon on the upper right hand side
To share:
Touch the gray i button on the right, then
Touch the + next to the Who Has Access bar.
Enter the email address of the person with whom you wish to share.
Using a Mac computer
Download and run FLV Crunch. http://goo.gl/6BZ9tX
You can also download the Mac version of Any Video Converter in Mac App Store
Set the video resolution to something smaller, perhaps 720x480.
Convert your video to MP4
Access your Google account
Upload converted video to Google Drive
Share with whoever you wish
