Intro to Digital Video Cameras
Digital Video Digital video  is a type of  video  recording system that works by using a  digital , rather than  analog , representation of the video signal.  --From wikipedia.org
Intro to Digital Video With a digital video camera you use a cable - usually  Firewire  - and move the video directly to the computer using video editing software like  iMovie  or  FinalCut Pro  for the Mac, or  Premiere  or  Movie Maker  for the Windows PC.
Camera – Hands on Getting Acquainted with the camera (handout) or research on your own (next slide) if not enough cameras to go around. Work in groups of 2 to 3 people. Locate key features Insert cassette tape Record View
Importing video Go to:  http://fllc.cas.sc.edu/TIFLE2007/?page_id=12 Under March 22, do a right click on “Sample video to edit” and do a “save target as”. Download to desktop. Open Windows Movie Maker Go to “File” and then “Import into collections” and find the file “movie” on the desktop It will now import into movie maker for you to practice.
Bill’s crash course on movie making I invite Bill to come and show students how to get the cameras to download, what resources to use in the lab to do this, and how to do some basic functions when editing: Import Cut Titles Transitions/effects Etc.

Uploading your video Use YouTube to upload your videos for sharing with the class. http://youtube.com/ Click on sign up to create an account Once you are a member, click on “upload video” to upload your project  - follow prompts (videos limited to 10 mn and 100 mb) Copy the code for blog to paste into your blog
