Gtm is teaching method which barely
used to teach grammar with the basic
characteristic is focuse to translation
Memorizing the verbs forms and taught
by using mother tongue.
GOAL OF GTM
Develop student’s reading abilityto tevel
where they can read literature in the
target language.
PROCEDURE OF GTM
• Classes are taught in the mother tongue
• Teach much vocabulary
• Provides the role of grammar
• Little attention is paid to the content of
texts
PRINCIPLES OF GTM
• Grammar is taught deductively and then
practiced
• Developed are reading and writing
• Mother tounge
• Translation exercises
• Mastering the grammar of foreign language
