A Digipak is a type of paperboard packaging that holds CDs or DVDs. It consists of a folded paper outer binding with an attached plastic tray inside to hold the disc. Digipaks were among the first alternatives to jewel cases used by major record companies. Even though other companies make similar packaging, the term "Digipak" is often used generically to refer to this style of packaging regardless of manufacturer.
