Digipaks are a type of paperboard packaging that uses a foldable paper outer binding with one or more attached plastic trays to hold a CD or DVD inside. As one of the first alternatives to jewel cases, the term "digipak" is often used generically to describe similar packaging from other companies. Digipak packaging is commonly used for CD singles, special edition albums, and premium DVD releases in the form of tall DVD digipaks.
