A digipak is a type of CD, DVD, or BD packaging that consists of a foldable paperboard outer cover that holds one or more plastic trays for the disc. Digipaks were among the first alternatives to jewel cases and the term is often used generically for similar packaging from other companies. An album cover is the front packaging of an audio recording, traditionally cardboard for vinyl records and the front panel of a CD package.
