2. Statement of the Problem
Specifically, this study seeks to answer the

receiver gives information.

Inquiry. This shows to gather or collect data.

9. Clarification. To clarify thoughts or idea being stated.

Expressions of Politeness. Showing good manners or respect
for other people.

Emphasis or Command. Stressing for something or to give an
order.

11. Conclusions
Code-switching is a natural behavior, and it
usually happens in informal conversation
both direct and indirect. The reasons for code
switching have nothing to do whether the
context of the conversation is direct and
indirect or is computer mediated. The
participants code switch naturally in online
conversation. Moreover, the participants
consistently used more Cebuano
(participants’ native tongue) than English as
the base language in online conversation.
